Sorry to say, di ako impressed. First time namin pero parang di naman ganun ka-special yung taste compared sa Saboten. Excited pa naman kami i-try! I posted by review sa Latest Food Discovery thread about sa food we ordered (menchi katsu, hire & seafood set, chicken & seafood set, hire katsu set). Parang mas malasa yung katsu sa Saboten and Tonkatsuya. Even yung cabbage, mas ok sa Saboten.  Pero in fairness, my parents liked the goma dressing. Matamis din yung pineapple na dessert, hehe wala kasi dessert sa kabila e.

If we'll return, yes probably try ng ibang items, baka mali lang na-order namin.

^ baka nga. Hindi naman sa hindi masarap yung Yabu, pero parang ang taas ng expectations ko dahil sa raves tapos while eating, naiisip ko "eto na ba yun?" peace sa Yabu fans.

Yung menchi katsu ko, parang hamburger with cheese lang hehe

we had dinner at yabu sm aura yesterday. parang pinilit talaga na meopen sya kahit hindi masyado prepared. comment ng tita ko eh sobrang malamok. reklamo talaga sya kasi ang daming lamok lalo na sa ilalim ng table. pero sa food medyo ok naman sya for me. mas nagustuhan ko yung scallops and oysters kesa sa prawns and yung pork. naumay ako sa pork nila eh. yung cabbage naman ok din with the goma dressing, sobrang nakakabusog. i thought din sobrang expensive hindi naman pala. siguro i will try naman saboten with hubby para malaman ko alin ba talaga mas ok

Gusto ko yung sesame salad dressing nila.

^Di ko sure sis. Ang nakalagay lang dun sa bottle is sesame if I remember correctly and siya yung lagi kong ginagamit na dressing. May two other kinds of dresing pero yung sesame ang lagi kong gamit.

the cabbage+sesame seed dressing was good hanggang dun lang hehe. I ordered the special pork something and was expecting to be wowed pero nah halos kalasa lang ng tonkatsu sa other place. the salmon one was good if you put the lemon on it.

Kurobuta Pork Set -- order ni hubby gustong gusto niya ito pero for my taste mas type ko ang Menchi

Hire and Seafood Set -- sarap nito sulit na sulit ang order ko

Jumbo Prawn Set -- ito naman order ng daughter ko enjoy naman siya sa 1st Yabu niya

...ok naman yung Brown Rice at oks na oks ang unli miso... yung bagong dressing na Wasabi di ko type mas gusto ko pa den yung Goma...

Nagcrcrave ako ngayon sa cabbage nila.

Di nakatiis sa 2 days in a row na craving ko. Finally gave in kanina. Had lunch there with my sister. The ambiance is nice and our server is really accomodating. Wala ding pila sa rob magnolia.

Spent 1200 din for our orders:

*   Kurobuta premium set 500 plus
Tender ang meat. But medyo strong yung tonkatsu sauce for me. I put 2 scoops only.

*   Black tiger prawn set 400 plus
Big prawn di puro breading but the sauce again, di ko gaanong type. Both the dipping sauce and the mayo i found not so bagay with it.

*   Menchi (ala carte)
Good thing they have this na ala carte. Since i don't like eating something with cheese with rice. I agree sa comment ng iba na similar taste with a cheese burger.

Nabusog naman kami. Yung cabbage di kami parehong mahilig ni sister kaya di namin halos nagalaw tinikman lang namin with the goma dressing. But i appreciate na crunchy sya. Yung miso soup i like naman.

Glad i've finally tried it to satisfy my cravings. Hehe. But i don't see myself coming back soon.

reading all the comments about their sauce, but i don't really use the sauce for the katsu that much just to add a little flavor. i do, however, love their sauce for the veggies! just a tad bit overpriced for me, but a place i consider eating at every once in a while.

my latest fave resto!  love the tonkatsu!  and the unlimited sidings.  and the reasonable price!  sana ma-maintain ang quality....
