Ano ang magandang flavor sa 1st birthday cake? I'm torn between chocolate and carrot.

Mga sis help naman! My son is turning one. Safari theme nya. Naghahanap ako ng masarap na bday cake pero yung affordable sana... Mga 3k. May gusto ko din ang boiled icing... Di naman ako maarte sa design, basta maganda naman sya at masarap at syempre kaya ng bulsa... hehe. Baka naman may ma i re recommend kayo...

Hi mommies, need your advise. Diba usually cake blowing is towards the end of the program? so how can the guests consume the cake pa? I read some posts ng ibang mommies na madalas nga hindi na naiserve yung cakes because of this and it wouldn't look good if cake blowing will be done earlier. Given this scenario, ok lang ba na single edible lang ang 2 layered cake? much cheaper kasi and ayun baka masayang lang. TIA

^ We've done the birthday song and cake blowing right before meal time (after a few games) and it turned out well.

Do you know a cake and cupcake supplier based here in Paranaque? Halos lahat ng napag tanungan ko kung hindi meet-up is PhP 500 ang delivery charge. Thanks

^ sis, ganun ata talaga.. sa mga anak ko everytime magpagawa ako laging may delivery charge.. if you dont wanna pay delivery charge pick up talaga which is hassle sayo lalo na sa day mismo ng party ng anak mo. Have you tried sweets by cha? alam ko from paranaque siya baka she can deliver the cupcakes ng mas murang delivery fee. she is very nice.

If the child ba is turning 9 yrs old, normal ba na ayaw na nila ng character cake? I asked kasi my daughter if she wants a lalaloopsy cake for her 9th birthday on Feb 1 since naka pencil book ako kay Ms Vhe or les_sucreries. Sinagot ba naman ako ng anak ko ng "is that a joke?" Naloka ako. Parang last year lang panay pabili niya ng lalaloopsy tapos ngayon joke na?!

What characters or theme can you suggest for 9th birthday party?

^ 9 is a bit old for a Lalaloopsy-themed birthday party.  I suggest themes like tea party, spa party, sugar and spice, shabby chic, vintage floral (mala-Cath Kidston) if your daughter is a girly girl, or rock princess, pop star if she is into music, or her favorite literary character (Madeline, Fancy Nancy, Eloise, etc.) if she likes books.  Ask your daughter.  She's the best source of ideas for her birthday.

Thanks for the suggestions! I love the shabby chic theme. Naku, ako lang pala nakakaisip ma maganda pa rin sa kanya ang lalaloopsy party. Kaya pala naman pinipilit niya na Estrel's na lang daw yung cake niya and not lalaloopsy. Lol!

^ naka book ako kay a cupcake wish for my daughter's 2nd bday on march.. sabi nga nila yummy rin daw cakes and cupcakes niya.. i saw her works grabe ang galing niya rin gumawa ng character cakes.

^i was able to buy na from ms jheng. masarap naman and really pretty yung cake na ginawa niya for my daughter. i ordered a 2 layer cake from her, chocolate and lemon yung flavors. i prefer the lemon over the chocolate, but then, hindi naman kasi talaga ako chocolate cake fan, so that's not unusual naman for me. yung nieces ko loved the chocolate cake.

Cake supplier ko siya when my son was baptized last May. super cute ang detailed ng gawa niya. and yes, yummy yung cake. until now naka preserve padin yung shoe topper niya sa ref namin. we just can't stop looking at it until now. i should be getting her again for my son's 1st birthday this march, unfortunately November palang she was already booked. na-sad ako.

Moving on, got A cupcake wish nalang. Super tagal lang niya magreply sa messages. Pero good vibes padin ako sa kanya kase i saw her works na and super detailed. Good reviews din from other moms. So  nagtyaga ako to wait sa reply. Until now nga hindi pa niya nabibigay yung sketch. Sabi niya ibibigay niya nung 15 pa.
