Agoda or Asiatravel? Which websites do you go to for hotel booking

Wanna go back to Bora, Baguio and Coron.
I haven't used any online booking sites. Can you suggest reliable sites where you do your hotel booking? TIA!

Asiatravel.  I've used it a couple of times na for hotel bookings here and abroad.  Based dun sa mga na book ko sa Asiatravel, mas lower talaga sila compared to Agoda or even sa mismong hotel site.  There are times din na they'll send you promo codes which you can use upon booking.

i have always used Agoda, i never tried others... i never had any problem with Agoda. though i must say na minsan hindi masyadong malaki ang savings. pero there are times na medyo significant ang savings. so depende lang talaga sa ma-tiyempuhan mong promo...

Ako, either Agoda or hotel website, depends which has a better rate/package (minsan kasi hotels offer special package, or additional inclusions through their website). Booked with Agoda many times over the years and di pa ako nagkakaproblem so far. Tried domestic, Asia, Middle East and Europe bookings.

^well it's not strange. kasi hotels partner with Agoda for their promotions.

^i've never tried Asiatravel. sis, never ka pa naka-experience ng problem diyan? sa isang dosenang beses na nag-Agoda ko, never pa ko nagka-problema. so medyo afraid ako to switch... pero i'm willing to switch if it's cheaper and kung maganda ang track record.

booked twice with Asiatravel since cheaper sila (though di naman ganun kalaki yung difference, hundreds lang yata) as compared to Agoda  never had a problem and super ok din customer service nila.

^may reward points din ba sa Asiatravel? sa Agoda kasi meron, so yung accummulated points pwedeng gamitin sa next booking pang-bawas sa babayaran. though medyo maliit lang actually.. unless frequent traveler ka.

I've booked most of our hotel stays through Asiatravel. Their customer service is really great too. My only comment on them was when I was trying to book our Boracay trip last year through them and wanted to pay using a credit card, they wanted a front and back copy of the card. Eh for security purposes, hinde naman dapat binibigay ang back copy cus the security code is there which can allow just about anyone to use the card for online purchases. So I cancelled the reservation and booked directly with Seawind. What I like about Asiatravel kase is they have more packages to choose from, pag Agoda kase, hotel lang talaga. Although Agod is very reliable too and their room rates are very low. Usually lower talaga pag agencies cus the rooms are parang blocked na for them for a certain discounted price.

For Boracay trips, I book through Boris Travel and Tours. Sa kanila ko nagpa-book ng first boracay trip namin ni hubby so eversince, dun na ko sa kanila except yung stay namin sa Seawind last year.

I've used both asiatravel and agoda. I prefer asiatravel kase they sometimes have the option of paying directly to the hotel. I like their customer service too, bilis magreply sa mga emails.

Agoda naman bad experience. We were supposed to be given a 5% discount for using bdo credit card pero wala naman. I even emailed them pero no reply.

Sometimes, I book directly with the hotel. Tsagaan lang maghanap ng pinakurang rates.

Yes sis, yun din sabe ko sa kanila. Their other option for me was to go to their office and make the transaction but they still needed a f/b copy of the card which didnt make sense to me at all. Sabe pa nila hinde naman daw gagamitin for other purpose yung copies. Of course hinde naman noh but then ayan din ang sabe ng ibang companies na may bad employees na gumagamit ng credit card ng iba for unauthorized purchases.

Did not happen with Asia Travel, but what i did nung hiningan ako front&back copy ng isang local online shopping site (ganun daw policy nila pag first time mag-purchase using cc), i "erased" the three-digit code na nasa likod. Then i sent the edited copy to them.

Back on topic...
Naka-try na din ako sa Agoda na sa hotel ako directly nagbayad. I noticed na pag local hotel, yun yung most of the time e prepaid. Pero for some international bookings i made via Agoda, sa hotel ako nagbayad. Tho meron sila madalas promo rate na yun, dapat bayad agad.

I love the rewards system ng Agoda. So far, naka-redeem na ako usd75 from rewards points. Tapos now, meron ako currently usd100 rewards na pwede na din magamit anytime.

I used agoda many times na and i never encountered any problem with them. kaya i keep coming back. i tried asiatravel once pa lang. ok din naman.
