Hi,

Can you help me with my 1-day itinerary? I  will be staying in HCM with 2 of my friends. We will be arriving from BKK by 9AM. I assume that we will be outside the airport by 10AM and we would love to visit the following places.

Notre Dame Square/Notre Dame Cathedral
Post Office
City Hall
Reunification Palace
Uy Ban Nhan Dan Thanh Pho
Ho Chi Minh Square
Pham Ngu Lao Street

I know that some of them are just right beside each other. Gusto ko lang malaman ang pinaka-optimal route namin on which one to do first para di pabalik balik. And kung pwede sana maiwasan mag-taxi since I heard a lot of negative things sa taxi nila.

Our hotel is located at Bui Vien Street. We would love to be back by 8:00PM at our hotel area for dinner and to chill within the area.

hi mga sis, from airport to district 1, 200,000 dong lang mejo malaki na nga yun kasi na try na namin pag naka metro aabot lang halos ng 170vnd pag nasa airport may pila dun at marami ang nangongontrata, mostly 300vnd asking nila pero wag kayo pumayag sabihin ninyo... i been here last month and i only pay 170vnd pag pumayag go na pero pag madaling araw dating usually kontrata talaga... 200vnd lang talaga pag ayaw pumayag hanap kayo ng iba pa... bago sumakay ask muna how much talaga kung ano napagkasunduan yun lang pay ninyo...

If you're going to Vietnam to shop, try Taka Plaza and the 2 Saigon Squares. You can find export overruns there like Michael Kors, Zara, F21, H&M, Abercrombie, etc. Taka Plaza is smaller and less crowded than Saigon Square.
We stayed in Cap Town Hotel which is near: Notre Dame Square/Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, City Hall, Reunification Palace and Ben Thanh Market. We booked the hotel through Agoda so it's cheaper. I think it's just 8500php for 4 persons including breakfast for 3 nights.
For taxis, trust Vinasun and Mailinh taxi only.
Also try to avoid the cyclo drivers who will offer to take you to places for a low price and then at the end of the tour, will try to triple the amount on what you've agreed on. It's a scam.

^Where does 2 Saigon Square and Taka Plaza located? We preferred walking to be familiarize the streets, we just asked for a map from the hotel. And the officers in uniform (not sure if they are policemen) are helpful to give direction. Hmm, sobra lang sa pag-estimate ng time i.e. 30 minutes walking ang estimate samin kasi mukha kameng bata ng mga kasama ko. But in actually we only walked for almost 10-15 minutes.

^We rode a cab lang so I don't really know how to go there by foot but here's the address:

for those coming to hcm and staying in hotels/guesthouses, they usually have colored map. ask for it if they don't have it in display, kasi it helped us on our DIY city tour by foot and going into shopping areas din.

^sa Nguyen Khang Hotel sis. Katapat lang nun yung Bich Duyen. Ok yung location kasi malapit sa park, mga kainan at 10-15 min walk to Ben Thanh/Saigon Square.
