have you ever been stared at or discriminated at a luxury boutique/store?

I went inside LV boutique in Greenbelt to compare prices against here in SG.  I was in my normal uniqlo shorts and blouse.  Una kong tinanong yung uber common na Neverfull.  Sinabi ang price pero stern sya parang teacher then nagulat ako tinignan nya ako mula ulo hanggang paa.  Hindi ko inexpect kasi ang friendly ng SAs dito sa SG kahit sang branch ng LV, sanay ako na friendly ang SA's ng luxury boutiques.

Since then parang tinatamad na ako pumasok sa mga luxury shops within GB.  Parang I cannot be comfortable shopping there.

... those kinds of SAs live in a fantasy world, ang mundo sa loob ng apat na sulok ng isang tindahan. doon lang sila pwedeng magpanggap na maganda at makapangyarihan lol. hay tao nga naman.

pero yung daddy ko naexperience to (kasama ako).. sa isang car showroom in pampanga, tumitingin si papa ng car, then dndeadma siya nung agent/SA, maybe kasi sobrang simple lang ng suot ng daddy ko,  tapos tinawag niya yung isang SA kasi may itatanong, pumunta naman sakanya kaso nung may pumasok na ibang costumer na medyo mas maayos yung itsura, aba punta siya agad dun.. kaloka lang..nabadtrip si daddy ko ee.. pano kung bibili na nga nun, kawawa yung SA.. 

masasabi ko lang yung ibang SA ay masyado silang dumidepende sa itsura o porma ng tao..
to think na yung ibang mas mayaman or mas maraming pera ay simple lang kung manamit kasi they don't need to brag to everyone how rich they are..

this is entertaining and nakakainis at the same time. i think LV GB is really notorious for that. I've been there once or twice to check prices but then hindi naman nila ako ina-ano maybe because i was carrying a branded bag then. pero cold talaga sila, bihira ako makakita ng warm na SA.

this didn't happen to me but to my ninong.. old rich kasi, he was in a car dealer and nakapambahay outfit talaga. he was looking at a higher end car and the SA assisting him told him na yung other model mas mura. uminit ulo niya and then he demanded for the manager and told him what happened and nagalit talaga. super sorry yung SA and para gumanti, he asked for another SA and he bought the most expensive car in cash.

i used to work for a luxury cosmetics brand and i always tell my SA's na never ever judge a customer by how they look.

Update: si SA na nawala sa LV nakita ko ulit sa isang luxury store in GB ulit hahaha... Nilapitan ko pala mga sis last week..inasar ko lang, i asked her do you still remember me? For sure you are because im the reason why you got fired At LV right? Sabay alis ako tawa ako ng tawa... I made sure na marinig ng manager and mga kasama mya na SA... La lang gusto ko lamg sya ipahiya after nya ako ipahiya hahahaha

i remember a male classmate of mine nun college. fieldtrip ng class niya sa SG and he was in Hermes ata.. he looks really pinoy and minata mata siya ng SA dun, sa inis niya he bought a belt in cash.

also, nakipagsogawan pala ako sa isang MAC SA sa Dubai. She's middle eastern, may ni aassit siya na middle eatern din and she didn't want to assist me maski na bibili na ako eh the one she's assisting ni-make over lang niya. lumapit yung 1 asian na SA from another brand and i told her loudly na i had some items on reserve and i'm just getting it but the MAC SA didn't know that they had those items (pina-reserve ko sa pinay MAC SA on break). tapos she turned around and shouted at me and said "can;t you see i'm busy"? tapos uminit dugo ko, i shouted na "i'm a sure buyer and you don;t even know what stocks you have" sabay balibag ng items and walk out. i directly went to the customer service to complain.

Naku sis lil princess maldita ako pag inunahan ako.. Lumalabas amg sungay at buntot ko haha.. Wala lang.. Natatawa lang ako sa mukha nung SA... Hihi

Naku sabi nga mga friends ko na nagwowork sa mga middle eastern countries medyo up to uber rude daw mga sa's na galing sa mga countries na yun..

di pa nangyari sakin pero sa officemate ko oo, she went sa isang store sa GB, tapos pagpasok pa lang nya daw, tiningnan na cya mula ulo hanggang paa (kasi naka sandals, shorts at company t-shirt lang cya) tapos sunod na ng sunod sa kanya...nun may hinawakan cya item para tignan maigi, lapit agad un SA tapos sabi mahal po yan baka masira...

nag init agad un ulo ng officemate ko so sabi nya sa SA, "may pambayad ako noh! alam mo ba un sweldo mo isang bwan, eh tax ko lang kada kinsenas!" sabay bili dun sa item...


pagkabas nya dun sa store, nabigla din sya sa nagawa nya, nabili nya ng di oras un item....

Hindi kaya isang type ng marketing scheme na maliitin ng SAs ang ibang customers, para mapabili bigla ng products nila? hehe.

Kung mangyari sa akin ang ganon, the last thing I'd want is for that store to get my money. Hahayaan nila yung SA nila na i-discriminate ako tapos kikita pa rin ang store sa akin? No thanks. I would rather file a formal complaint, step out and find a similar item in another store, or if I really want that particular model, I'd find another branch that treats its customers better.

^That's what I also been thinking.  I don't want my money to help in providing their salaries. 

I think they are banking on the fact that we Filipinos are emotional and "mapride".  Even if we speak about their discrimination, they still have a large market with the upper classes because of the name they carry. 

Walang kawalan ang isang sale from us kung mamakyaw si Jinky Pacquaio sa shop nila. 

That's also what makes them "exclusive" sa Pinas.  Yung walang ibang makakapasok kundi ang upper class lang at marunong manamit.  It speaks that their brand is not for everybody. 

The best to do when it happens again is to report it to the manager and if you really want to buy something, ask for a more courteous SA. Shopping should not be uncomfortable.

Sa Clinique store. hehe

I have been using Clinique for God knows how long na. So, I was looking for this particular brand of lipstick/lipgloss kasi gusto ko makita if they have a different shade. So, when I came sa store nila I was just browsing. Then this SA came to me and said..."wala po kaming free make over dito ha! wala din samples po, sorry!" I was like...duh!? mukha ba akong mag avail ng free make over?!

Inisip ko...kainis to ha! Then bigla kong tinanong....may Chubby Stick kayo? Then sabi nya, ano po yun?! Bigla kong nilabas ang Kikay Kit ko na may Shu, MAC, Lancome at YSL na make-up's then sabi ko.."ganito oh!? meron kayo nito?!"

She has that vague look sa face nya then biglang punta nung isang attendant..."ma'am, wala pa po kami nyan dito eh! sa states pa lang meron..."

I told the other SA, I thought so! late kayo kasi dito. oh well, sa states na lang ako bibili. sabay labas! hehe

^saang Clinique yan sis? ang sama talaga ng ugali. hindi mo na nagtanong kung anong hanap mo? kulang na kulang sa training. mga ganyang SA ang hindi dapat kaawaan na mawalan ng work dahil bastos talaga. ang trato nya mukhang solicitor or much worse pulubi ang tinataboy nya. nakakainis talaga sis! dapat sis nireklamo mo para matauhan.

I don't know if this one applies here, not really at a luxury boutique/store. me, once while ordering with my friends at coffee bean trinoma, and she was letting me choose between over the ice and ice blended. I asked for the difference. and she stated "from the word itself maam ang over the ice blah blah blah" then started explaining. I didn't mind naman, but my friends, nairita sa sinabi ni barista girl then walked out to their seats. Pigilan ko daw sila as the barista should explain it in a better way without saying "from the word itself" at nagmuka daw akong bobo.

then my bff when we came out of the dressing room sa landmark, sinundan kami ng 2 sales lady, they approached my bff and asked kung may tag ba yung jacket na dala niya (which was hers and not from the clothes we tried on) so she was accused of being a shoplifter. Josme sa mukang mala Jessy Mendiola!!! Namula bff ko sa galit and asked for their names, yung isa ignored her then yung isang sales lady doesn't want to give out a name then just walked out. We looked for a manager, na wala daw, baka naka break. Kung nagkataon na meron baka ipa-terminate din namin yung 2 sales lady na yun.

Last october after maggrocery, super decided na talaga ako to purchase an LV, so i went straight dun sa right side kasi parang walang lumapit samin ni bf, nakajeans, shirts & flats lang kasi.. Was just inquiring of some prices of the bags pero decided na ako which bag hehe anyway, i was actually hoping na yung SA would be smiling or in a way parang plastic na lang to be so courteous alam mo yun, nice naman si SA, hindi lang sya yung super willing i guess or super nice nice.. mukha kasi akong 20 yrs old na walang pambili! Anyway, mabilis lang, sabi ko i'll get the bag na and paid in cash..

Yung 2 beses na bumili ako ng bag sa LV GB okay naman pareho naging experience ko. I forgot the name nung SA she was accommodating kahet hindi naman ako mukhang mayaman. naka havs lang ako when i went there.. well di talaga ako rich at talagang pinag iipunan ko yung pambili ko ng bag.. the first time i paid in cash.. yung 2nd time is nung nag nag re-open yung LV sa GB ang nag assist sakin is SA from Guam.. They were sent here for the opening.. lalaki siya.. ang cute cute niya at ang bait bait niya.

Di to luxury boutique... Imbeyerna din ako sa BB Gateway. Ni-try ko kasi yun Fairy Drops lash treatment yun white gusto kasi yun Fairy Drops mascara nila. Nung ni-try ko nakatitig lang si ate sa akin as in nakasimangot di man lang mag-smile. Eh di ako try ko muna, eh namula yun mata ko at ang bigat sa pakiramdam. Dapat bilin ko na yun mascara kaya lang mukhang BV siya sa akin so sa ROb Galleria na lang ako bibili since nung dun ko ni-try yun mascara di nakasimangot SA.

Thankfully wala pa naman akong naeexperience na ganito. I've been to LV GB rin a few times and wala naman tumingin sakin simula ulo hanggang paa subukan lang nila.

this happened to me already at nakakainis nga lang kasi pinag-ipunan ko pa yung pambili sa item na yun tapos ignore lang ako ng nung SA kaya pumunta na lang ako sa ibang mall to buy sa same item na may mabai na SA.

Living well Podium. Wala ngang pumapasok sa store nila eh! The S.A was so rude! I was just asking the price of an item na walang presyo pero may 50% off. So, tinanong ko lang, I was given a curt answer then, she turned her back on me while I was talking to her! I asked for the manager and spoke to him na ganun nga ang ginawang pambabastos! I even told him " if you can fire her, the better!" Wala akong pakialam if pamilyado siyang tao or ilang anak mayroon siyang dapat pakainin. I was so nice to her, and I was in a happy mood that changed suddenly. I seldom complain, and if I do, I will really demand for the person to get her walking papers with her as the manager shows her out the door for good! I could be the most unforgiving person one could ever meet in her or his lifetime!

speaking of rude/tactless SA's, i'll share this thing that happened last week with my friend, just a small segway from this topic. after my friend's several unsuccessful derma visits, she asked me to accompany her in choosing and buying beauty products/cosmetics instead. we were browsing through beauty products at a beauty store in GB. i noticed the SA staring at my friend, who was trying concealers. then she approached her and commented "Ma'am bakit di niyo po muna try yung facial foam namin para sa pimples niyo. Marami din kasi, baka mag-bukbok diba?" I was left aghast! Can she be more tactless? I felt sorry and embarrassed for my friend whose face was, let's just say, obviously not flawless. Some posh-looking customers started staring at her as well, so I guess they heard the comment. My friend's reply? "Ah ganun ba? Salamat sa payo. Papayuhan din kita na mag-umpisa nang maghanap ng ibang trabaho dahil ipapatanggal na kita! O, wag ka ma-stress ha? Baka ikaw naman magka-pimples at bukbukin niyan!"
