Plans for the Holidays (Christmas and New Years)

Hi Fellow Mommies! Hope you can share what your plans are with your babies and families for the upcoming Holidays?

Since this is the first year that we have a baby - my husband & I want to celebrate and make it more festive. Aside from the usual plans of being with our families and relatives, I'm thinking of what else we can do... I've been checking prices for hotels for Christmas Eve & New Year's Eve pero di parin ako super sold.

It will be our first Christmas with baby Amber (she'll be 8 months at that time). Sadly, we will not be spending it in Cebu, and that the 25th of Dec falls on a Tuesday (a working day!). I will probably cook something special for dinner and watch Christmas-themed movies with hubby even if the next day is a working day(!)

For New Year's eve. Cook something special or dine somewhere fancy.

For Christmas we will spend it at home with the obligatory visits to each of our parents. I was also thinking of spending a night in a hotel but parang staying at home is cozier. I'll have baby H sit in our bed surrounded by all her Christmas presents on Christmas morning and let her have a ball ripping them apart (with a little help from us of course).

For New Year's we will be in Hong Kong. I doubt she will be able to stay up til midnight for the bayside firework show

^^ khriseee: sis question on your new year plans in HK... may i ask what area or hotel you booked. I'm planning to go to HK with J also pero on his birthday pa - as birthday trip for the whole family but I am clueless on how to plan stuff! Will you bring along your stroller??? Baby friendly ba HK?

Christmas - makikain sa in-laws ko. (para tipid. lol)

New Year - 3D hotel stay in Ortigas, maiba naman kesa Pasay area.


* wish ko sana makapag Christmas sa HK or anywhere outside the Phils pero di pa pwede sa ngayon dahil hindi pa pwede mag-leave ang asawa ko. in time.

It was my MIL who booked for us, we are staying at holiday inn express in causeway bay. Very convenient daw, all the stores are downstairs. We probably won't bring a stroller na due to the crowds, HK is not stroller friendly, and if i recall you have a stokke right? Thats bulky. Instead i will bring my saya carrier, was considering getting the ergo but when i checked it out i knew H would hate it. So these past few days i've been using the saya at home, esp in the hip carry position, she seems to like it.

On places we'll probably stay in causeway bay, most of the stores i want to visit are there, though i may need a trip to tsim sa tsui for cotton on hehe

^thanks for the tips khriseee! Yup stokke stroller ni J. Dont plan to bring it to our trips but was thinking of getting another umbrella one pero nasasayangan ako eh. How much did you get your saya for and where? I still havent used my sling kasi i still havent figured out how tonuse it eh.

I got the saya from the mommy mundo bazaar some months back, for 1,400. If you wanna check it out, i saw it also at babyland eastwood last week. i got the vtb fabric, there is another fbric which costs 950. It takes getting used to but i find it easier to use now that H is bigger, no need to support her head or back when getting her in.

Re stroller, if you really want to bring one i think you'll need an umbrella type, unless you wanna mow down some people in HK hehe

yaya and helper will be out for vacation with their own families. kaya kami lang ni hubby with our 3 boys (6yro, 3yro, 6mos). we are still undecided kung ano gagawin for new year.

on Christmas eve we will be spending it with my inlaws at our QC apt. we'll probably go to the midnight mass & have dinner afterwards.. on Christmas day my sis inlaw is inviting us to visit their home at Valenzuela so we might go there because i don't have other plans..

on new year's eve we will be spending it with my side of the family. i booked us at Manila Hotel to get away from the loud new year revelry that my son is not so fond of. I plan to take my son back to the Manila Ocean Park & swim at the hotel pool.. he loves swimming kasi.. =)

Hello all! this is also our first xmas and new year with our baby, she'll be turning 1 on jan. For xmas i think we'll spend it with my-inlaws at tagaytay, my family is also staying at our place there so i guess we can always drive to and fro For the new year we'll be spending in hk also with my family and relatives My dad already made reservations for our new year's eve dinner , i thinks baby wont appreciate the fireworks so i guess we'll be in our room when the clock strucks 12 happy holidays everyone!

i'm 6 months pregnant and i can't go home in Ilocos because of work. mabibitin yung bakasyon. my 1st born (7 yrs old) + family are all there. i'll be spending Christmas with my future in-laws (wish me luck) and for new year i might just be at home alone. =(

If ever may naghahanap ng hotel to stay in for NewYear's Eve, I think the best deal that I checked at this time is Crowne Plaza Hotel in ORtigas. they have 30% off deal.
