naku, i feel for you sis. may white spot ka? sa nipple? may ganyan ako nung may plugged duct. maliit sya na parang white pimple. what i did was todo breastfeed or pump lang. try putting warm compress on your breast to ease the pain and possibly let the milk flow.

i don't know if any of my suggestions can help you. pero if you develop fever, go na agad sa OB.

banff thanks for the suggestions sis, ayaw din ng son ko ang avent, yung tommee tippee medyo okay na, last two days, di na masyado nahirapan ang sis ko, pero puro TT talang daw kasi sa avent nagwawala, papatry ko nga rin ang pigeon, yun kasi ginagamit kong container ng napapump kong breastmilk, para tipid na sa hugas Yung medela kasi parang nabibilaukan yung son ko. sayang nga yung calma e. 

Question naman, wala kasi pumasin sa tanong ko okay lang ba ibabad sa bottle warmer yung breastmilk pero mga after 1 to 2hours pa bago ipapainom? Para lang nakaready na pag hungry na si baby.

For the past three days since i started working, 2 times lang ako nakakapagpump sa work, patago kasi, yaw ko mahalata ng boss ko at baka ibawas sa privilege hour ko, bago umalis at paguwi pump din muna ako tapos maya maya direct feeding na kami ni baby mga 2 to 3 times yun hangang madaling araw.. enough na kaya yun para di humina ang supply ko? to summarize.. 4 pumps from 6am to 6pm - 15 to 16oz.. then 3 DF sa buong magdamag till madaling araw..

okay na din yung 4x a day na pump i actually started at 5x a day na pump nung di pa busy (galing lang sa ML so may excuse) until naging 4x na lang. when my son has reached almost 1year old, i pump 3x na lang sa office. i just pump before going to office. gusto kasi ni baby na fresh bm eh. mas maraming naiinom. hence, i have extra bm.

for those who need extra bm, let me know. i have several frozen bm to spare. yun lang my request is pick it up from my place. thanks.

^naku salamat sis, hangang anong oras pwede ibigay yung nakababad na milk? Diba pag nalawayan na ni baby one hour nalang tapos dispose na?  Para ganon na papagawa ko sa kapatid ko kasi kahapon biglang nagtimpla ng 30ml na formula,umiiyak na raw kasi nabitin son ko, hassle daw magpalamig pa. Sana nga magaya kita, 6months nga lang muna plan ko pabreastfeed,pag nakasurvive na ako ng 6months then move forward ako sa 1 year till 2.. Sana nga   Ilang oz na napapump mo ngayon? Ilang oz naiinom ni baby mo sa araw?

i experience that before super sakit ng breast ko with matching fever pa nga what i did was i always let my bby feed on the painful side para ma drained yun milk, yan pinaka takot ko clogged ducts grbe, i think during the 1st yr once or twice yan nangyari sa akin, give it a few days na totally na drdrained yun side na yun magiging okay din.

^mabilis lang naman magwarm yung milk pag sa warmer. mga 5 to 10mins lang inaalis ko na. di rin naman kasi dapat super init at namamatay ang mga nutrients

hi sis marssie. 4x pumping for 12 hrs sounds good. that means you pump every 3 hrs so pasok ka naman sa recommended na interval. is your boss a guy? dapat naman sana maintindihan nya yung need mo to pump. after all, it's in the expanded breastfeeding act:

Sec. 12. Lactation Periods. - Nursing employees shall granted break intervals in addition to the
regular time-off for meals to breastfeed or express milk. These intervals, which shall include the time
it takes an employee to get to and from the workplace lactation station, shall be counted as
compensable hours worked. The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) may adjust the
same: Provided, That such intervals shall not be less than a total of forty (40) minutes for every eight
8-hour working period.

i hope lahat ng places of work can be more breastfeeding-friendly... when i was bfeeding my 1st baby when i was still full-time sa office, i was pumping in less than ideal conditions. pero i was able to sustain my supply naman so all's well. i just hope that working lactating moms are provided with better resources now that we're supposedly more breastfeeding-aware (with the expanded bf act and all).

Yup, lalake kasi boss ko, actually nasa middle east ako, nasa labor law din nila dito na less one hour ang work ng babae pag after manganak for one year, mabait naman boss ko sobra, kasi sa part na to medyo nadissapoint ako ako kasi inaavail ko yung one hour early na uwian, 30minutes lang binigay sa akin kesyo dapat daw same ng uwian ng client ang uwi ko at billable ako sa project.. so di ko na lang pinaalam sa kanya yung pagpapump ko kasi baka i-account pa yung oras na yun.iniisip ko nalang yung 2 to 3 times na pagpapapump ko sa office nasa one hour na rin naman. mabuti naman kung ganon, so bale ang pumping schedule ko 6am - 9am & 12noon (office but sometimes nakakasingit ako ng 2:30pm) at 4:30pm na pag uwi ko.. then direct feeding na sa gabi..

sis marssie, nasa middle east ka pala. ang ni-quote ko pa naman ay philippine law. hehe. anyways, buti naman na ok din for breastfeeding moms and labor law dyan.

it seems na good naman yung pumping schedule mo. keep it up lang, sis. pag breastfeeding moms talaga lumelevel-up sa pag-isip ng mga paraan. hehe. ako minsan pag gipit talaga sa oras, nakaharap sa computer habang nagpupump. di bale na dumaan-daan yung mga tao sa gilid ko basta ako pump lang. :p pero syempre ideal parin na pumping in peace and quiet para mas relaxed at mas maganda ang output.

^haha galing mo naman sis, minsan nga iniisip ko rin yun kung di lang tumutunog yung machine pwede sana sa area ko nalang kasi di naman halata dahil nasa ilalim naman ng blouse ko hehe.. 

Okay lang sis, nakakatuwa nga na sa atin talagang nasa batas na yun Yup pinapahalagahan din naman nila breastfeeding dito pero di kasing okay tulad ng sa atin, wala silang breastfeeding station dito sa mga mall. Kaya minsan hanap talaga ako ng dressing room na may upuan.

Mga sis, help. I am directly feeding my one-month old (tomorrow) baby. I've tried pumping last week (once lang) because we took her to the church. What I did was pump right before we left the house. Then before the mass ended, she asked for milk na and she took the bottle well naman. Tapos mukhang kulang so nag direct feed ako ulit sa kotse.

Now, we have pedia visit on saturday. I plan on pumping milk tom morning kasi nai-stress ako kung same day pumping.

I plan on just putting the expressed milk in the fridge then just pop it in the diaper bag before we leave on Sat. The question is, how long will the milk stay good? Ganun lang sya. From the fridge, without warming it, to the bag then to baby? I know freshly pumped milk will stay good for 8-12 hours at room temp. But how about chilled milk to room temp? I keep recalling my breastfeeding seminar if they tackled the issue, I really can't remember. Nahihilo na din ako kakahanap sa net.

We have dry ice in the freezer and I can use that too should the chilled milk needs to stay chilled. However, I'm not liking the idea of giving my baby cold milk. I know it's perfectly alright but I just don't have the heart to give her cold milk.  Maybe when she's a bit older na siguro.

^nako sis parang medyo matagal yata yung breastmilk mo sa room temp. Ang advise kasi sa amin ng pedia and ob too na freshly pump is good for 4hours lang tapos lagay na sa ref beyond 4hours. Kapag natagalan na ng mahigit 4hours BM ko, check ko muna lasa kung ok pa lagay na kaagad sa ref. Naiiwan at nakakalimutan ko kasi minsan yung freshly pump milk ko sa container ng breastpump ko. Reg dun naman sa chilled BM, pinapaabot ko lang ng 6hours sa room temp. Beyond that tikim at amoy ulit kung ok pa...

^ Sa church sis, the freshly pumped milk was consumed within 2-3 hours naman. With regards to milk having been in the fridge then let it sit out at room temp, how long will it stay good kaya? Or magdala na lang ako ng dry ice? Also, I believe ideal yung 4 hours at room temp kung freshly pumped. Although sa seminar na na attendan ko, they said upto 12 hours daw, pwede pa. Depende siguro sa weather. This days, hindi ata pwede yun as summer heat is slowly creeping in. Better to put it nga in the fridge by the 4th hour. Thank you sis!

hi sis maika14! sis akiteklea is right, matagal nga yung 8-12 hrs at room temp. especially sa init dito sa pinas (kung andito ka ha).

ako personally, i find it easier to direct feed whenever i'm with baby. even when we are out of the house (malls, church, doctor's clinic, etc). kasi i won't have to bring anything other than my baby and his diaper bag. whereas if i give him breastmilk in a bottle, we would have to bring pa the bottle with milk, cooler bag with ice packs, and the breastpump (especially if matagal kaming wala sa house).

our country is slowly becoming a breastfeeding-aware one naman so we can breastfeed anytime, anywhere.

^ I have the breastfeeding cover and I've tried BFing in the mall and in our doctor's clinic. Actually, I find it easier talaga to direct feed for the same reasons you mentioned. However, may quirk tong baby ko. Ayaw nya ng mainit. Sa liit nya, kaya nyang iangat completely yung cover exposing my not-so-poised situation inside. lol The last time na ginamit namin yung cover, pinaypayan pa sya sa loob ng sister ko. Otherwise, magwawala. I'll see. Pero naiisip ko palang na mag sterilize ako ng gamit today, tinatamad na ako. Baka i-feed ko na lang sya on the way to the clinic then siguro, by the time na bumaba kami, satisfied na sya. I just hope that we won't have to wait long in the clinic just like last time.

There's a huge and nice family lounge at Greenbelt 5 and there is a breastfeeding spot there.

I also saw a breastfeeding station at Boracay airport.

^sis marose, how about if baby is too distractible? i can't nurse directly outside the house because my baby just won't nurse when its not a quite darkened room. but he can nurse in the car when it's just us and the car is moving. when the car stops, he stops nursing as well. so we really had no choice but to bring pumped bm. any other suggestion on this? thanks in advance.
