i never ate veggies when i was a kid but one of the first veggie dishes na i learned kainin is Ginisang Sayote :) i would always ask mom to cook it. We usually add shrimps or pork giniling.

Saute garlic, onion and tomatoes. Add the shrimps or pork and wait until it's cooked. Add sliced sayote. Add water and simmer until it's tender. Season with salt.

;)

here's mine:

200 grams shrimps/ground pork
1 carrot, peeled and sliced
200 grams mushrooms, cleaned and chopped
200 grams young corn, julienned
300 grams greens (kailan leaves or any other chinese greens)
bell peppers/beans/chilies
garlic, crushed and minced
onion, chopped

I parboil the carrots and young corn so as not to take time when stir frying everything.

1. Heat oil in a shallow pan. saute onion and garlic.
2. Add meat and cook for about 5-10 minutes. Add parboiled carrots and young corn. Add 1/2 cup water.
3. Add the remaining vegetables. Season with oyster sauce.
4. Serve hot with rice.

Here's mine mushroom burger recipe!

1 tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion, diced
1 clove garlic, minced
3 green onions, diced
1/2 tsp cumin
3/4 cup diced fresh mushrooms
1 15 ounce can pinto beans
1 tsp parsley
salt and pepper to taste
oil for frying

Saute' the onions and garlic in olive oil until onions soft but not carmelized. Add the green onions, cumin and mushrooms and cook for another 5 minutes, until mushrooms are cooked. Set aside.
Mash the beans with a fork or a potato masher until well mashed.
Add the mushrooms to the beans and add parsley, salt and pepper. Stir until well combined.
Shape the mixture into patties. Heat about two tablespoons of olive oil and cook each patty until the veggie burgers are done, about 3 minutes on each side.

Subscribing :)

I want my 5 year old son to always eat vegetables. Me, personally I can't have a meal without vegetables. Nauumay ako sa kinakain ko. My favorite dish which I learned from my Mom is ginisang alogbate, kalabasa, sitaw with ground pork.

I just saute sa onions and garlic. Then I add the tomatoes. Add the ground pork until cooked. Then add mo na yung kalabasa and sitaw. Add water. Huwag masyado madami. 1 cup is ok. If tender na yung kalabasa thats the time that you add the alogbate. Yung alogbate kasi is nag a add din ng water. :) So expect na after you put the alogbate e dadami konti yung water. :)

My son loves it and he can eat 2 cups of rice kapag yun ang ulam . :)
