Sharing our Coron vacation last week. The whole experience is priceless! Gusto na namin bumalik agad to experienced other island tour loops. Few months ago, I tried my best talaga to find a place to stay away from Coron town. We enjoyed the package we booked in Gran Vista for 4 days and 3 nights. I guess this place is just less than 5 minute trike ride from town. And I could say na Sulit!
The room we got is worth 1.9k per night which is good for 4 pax. Worth it, na pag-gising mo tahimik, surrounded by trees with veranda. Eventhough:
- fan room only (ready for aircon pa lang lahat ng rooms/resthouse but because of Yolanda hindi na-pushthrough, they focused on the areas devastated by Yolanda, which is the Coron Castaway part, the bridge, the small port atbp). windows are screened, has screened doors too
- no cable/tv in room/s (the owner told us, that direk dyogi, suggested to them not to put cable/tv in rooms, they have one in their clubhouse, which I think okay, to have full attention to enjoy your stay in the island)
- no wifi in rooms, only in the clubhouse
The breakfast served is Good. Fried rice, dried danggit, dried squid, tocino, longganisa, ensalada, tinapa, egg, all are good combi.
The island hopping tour by NIP Tours, for me its Excellent, the boat/guideman is mababait, same treatment whether you're a foreigner or not, the Picnic lunch served is super duper sulit, sobra-sobra, with snack pa nong Bulog-Banana-Malcapuya island tour. Helpful at talagang i-e-encourage kang makita ang nature under the sea, mentioning Mark and mang Raul, they're nice.
The dinner, not included in the package, which is good, so that we have option to eat on some known kainan in Coron town, like Lolo Nonoy's (day 1 lunch), Kawayanan Grill (day 1 & 2 dinner) and La Sirenetta (day 3 dinner), the staff will contact a trike for you for a ride to get to town, its 20php each nga lang one way.
The 700+ steps to Mt. Tapyas is a success, sad that the big cross's not yet fixed. Kitang-kita rin mga roof debris ng mga shed in some areas ng Mt. Tapyas.
The Maquinit experience after Mt. Tapyas, is super relief talaga, zero signs of pagod, kung pwede lang ulitin after ng mga island hopping tours, will grab.
