Hindi namin napag usapan ito.
Mutual understanding lang na when it comes to big expenses, sya ang magbabayad, kasama na dates and out of country leisure.

I let him decides for our investment and future.

Ang set-up namin, meron kami kinocontribute sa joint savings account, dun kinukuha yun lahat ng payment for bills and utilities. Before we contribute to this account, net na yun amount na sinet namin for our daily allowance. Then whatever excess dun sa budget namin for daily allowance kaniya kaniya na yun. Meron din kami 1 credit card designated for personal use.

money is a very big part of life. kailangan pag-usapan.

mga 1.5 years before getting married, after sya mag-propose, nag-start na kaming mag-usap very openly about money.

ako na nagsimula -- as in derecho. sabi ko, honey, we need to set up a fund. we will be a team from now on--lahat ng utang mo, magiging utang ko, and lahat ng assets mo, magiging assets ko (and vice versa).

sabi ko rin, start na tayo mag-accounting kasi we were budgeting for a small wedding and a honeymoon in europe.

hubby has finance background and is frugal, so willing sya agad. nag-aantay lang pala sya na ako mag-open ng topic, kasi natatakot sya na ma-offend ako. hahaha! antayan lang.  baka yung fiance mo rin, inaantay ka lang, sis.  :D

we scheduled that weekend na nagpunta sya sa condo ko, with all his passbooks, credit card bills, etc. we spent almost an entire day doing spreadsheets.

we disclosed all our debts. honesty is the best policy. i brought out my credit card statements na may 70k balance, plus may mortgage pa ako sa condo at that time.  sya malinis ang credit card statement! he's very simple kasi, as in walang utang. fully paid na rin nya yung condo and car nya. ako talaga ang may money issues pa at that time.

akala ko he'll freak out nung makita nya anong pinagbibili ko dun sa statement, pero hindi naman. he advised me to use some of my savings to pay off my credit card kasi wala daw sense na magbayad ako ng interest. so ayun--right then and there, i paid the card off online.

tapos we added up our savings to find out exactly how much cash we have together. mas malaki di hamak ang ipon nya kesa sa akin. nahiya ako ng slight. ;D but i was really touched when he started referring to the pooled money as 'our money' kahit parang 10% lang yata ang na-contribute ko.

anyway, we found out na we have enough na for a small wedding and the europe honeymoon. we also agreed to set aside some of 'our money' for an emergency fund. we opened a joint account for that purpose.

tapos we made a plan on how to pay off my mortgage faster. sinunod namin talaga, and okay na, nabayaran na namin a few months after or wedding (thank you god).

the earlier you talk about it, mas magaan ang married life. i suggest you just disclose everything, sis. and dapat sya din. as in magpakitaan kayo ng papeles. walang taguan ng utang. agree on a budget.

ang parents ko away ng away about money dati. ganun din parents nya. we swore we wouldn't be like them, so talagang we run our finances prudently and openly. may budget lahat, walang issue. pag may gusto gawin or bilhin, like upgrade the car or travel, or bili ng LV bag (hahaha), we adjust the budget to accommodate it.

Sis yannuh, I agree with sis Annie M. Mag-bf gf pa lang kami pinaguusapan na namin finances.

thank you mga sissies. Between us, sya naman kasi ang magastos and super matipid din ako sa lahat. Alam ko naman lahat na dami nya din utang sa CC haha (wala akong CC). and i know magiging mutual utang na namin yun. ayos lang naman, mostly pinapang date kasi namin HAHAHAHA (kunsintidora much :P) Pakiramdam ko lang kasi, baka maging materialistic yung dating ko or something. Gusto ko lang kasi talaga gumawa ng excel file with all the expenses and dapat namin masave out of our monthly salary. Salamat ulit:)

It's still best for the wife to have an independent source of income para iwas talaga power trip and sumbatan na sooner or later, no matter how nice the husband is, will come up pag nagkaroon ng argument.

Hindi din naman para magkaroon ng unlimited shopping privileges kasi we know naman what's right and what's wrong when it comes to spending.  Pero at least, meron tayong pang gastos without having to ask for money nakakahiya din kasi sa husbands natin.

Car MA lang sagot ng hubby ko. Lahat ako.
He saves on his own though.
I also save on my own. I have mutual fund and bought stocks.

Since bfgf and maengage kame up to now I still handle 100% as in literal. However looks like Im failing lately nagiging malala ang pagspend ko. Im thankful that he never ask naman pero natatakot ako its like a disease na hindi ko mapigil bumili. Hmm I really need to do something.

Dapat laging magkasundo ang magasawa when it comes to money. Kasi madalas ugat ng hiwalayan yan e. Eto ang set-up namin.

1. He has his own account where he buys his things (He discloses me whatever he buys)
2. A joint account where we put our family savings (This one is for the kids (wala pa kaming kids), expenses, anything for family use)
3. My own account where I buy my own stuff (I also disclose this to him)

Tiwala lang HAHA.

subscribing
bf/gf palang kami and in 9months relationship.
napag uusapan nadin namin yung about sa money.

Very good sis yannuh :)

May common fund pa rin for all household expenses and meron naka segregate for our allowance/baon sa office. Ang madadagdag gagawa kami ng fund for oir family's need. Just in case may mangailangan hindi yun savings namin ang mababawasan. :) Narealize namin to nung may mahospital sa kanila. Ayun affected savings namin.

^sis halos lahat asa banks.
1. Household fund - nasa joint savings account
2. Savings/emergency fund - asa uitf, money market fund para 1 day lang leadtime pwede mawithdraw if kelangan talaga
3. Investment fund - pagka sweldo yun pang investment hulog agad sa COL pambili stocks
4. Baby fund - uitf ulit
5. Family fund - uitf ulit
6. Travel fund - uitf ulit
