My husband and I are going this holiday season, white christmas! 

Wala pa ako IT, all I booked palang are the airfares and our accommodation.  We're making Lucerne as our base and magtrain nalang to other parts of switzerland.

Anyone can share their tips and suggested ITs?

^Sis, you'll love Switzerland! Friendly locals and so much to see!

My must see/do:
Take a promenade through the Chapel Bridge
Fondue! You can't get any more Swiss than this. There's plenty of restos around Lucerne offering fondue,really fun stuff.
Side trips to the mountains, so much to choose from! Highly recommend Titlis and Rigi, but if you have time, Jungfrau would be your best bet. Even if you don't ski/snowboard, you will still enjoy this.
Shop for Swiss watch and chocolates! Check out Bucherer, they got the best selection.
If you're looking for something to do during the night, might be a bit touristy but still fun, especially for the kids, there's Stadtkeller. If this isn't your thing, plenty of nice restos/bars along the lake.

Thanks sa suggestions!:)  We're going to Titlis talaga since worth it daw talaga yun, but ok parin ba to see Rigi kahit na mag-Titlis na kami? We are thinking of day trip to Zurich, Bern and Basel from Lucerne, doable naman to diba? kahit winter?

How's their train system pala?  Do they have those unlimited train ride passes for tourists?

^Sis, if you're already going to Titlis, I suggest you skip Rigi coz it's definitely less impressive.
I'd leave it to the other ladies since I haven't used their trains, nor have I been to Zurich, Bern, or Basel. I'm sure they're as pretty as Lucerne  Btw, a good place to shop for Swiss chocolates and souvenirs is COOP. Look it up.

Mystique - Haven't been to Titlis but in the alps we go to Les Diablerets. Hubby has a chalet there (very close to Geneva) where we always go during our trips since it's just 2 1/2 hours away from France by car.

There are many many hotels or if you're in a bigger group, chalets for rent. Advantage of the chalets is you can just go to the grocery to shop for food & cook! It's really really lovely there. 

I've never been around via train kasi we just drive lang. How long are you staying?

For cities, I like Geneva best!

^Sounds like an exciting trip! Please update us after your trip. I'm looking at trying their Bernina Express naman. 

My favorite airline, CX, will re-start their service to Zurich in March 2015. With this in mind I'm doing a tentative IT to include Switzerland in our trip next year. I'm looking at arriving in Zurich, spend 2 or 3 nights in Schaffhausen with a day trip to Stein Am Rhein. Then back to Zurich to hop on the Bernina Express all the way to Tirano, Italy. From Tirano, probably rent a car to Lake Orta.

Nearest from Paris is Geneva.  Travel time is 2 1/2 hours lang.  Its hard to make an itinerary for you because it all depends on where you want to go. For instance:

1 do you want to visit Audrey hepburn's grave (Morges)
2.do you want to see Jungfrau (Interlaken)
3. do you want to see the mountains of Uri?
4.  Do you need to see Luzern?
5.  Do you want to see the famed Matterhorn (Zermatt)
or take a scenic ride from the Glacier express

Iba't ibang lugar sha within switzerland and doing above might take you a month.

2 nights three days lang sana. We are family of three 2 adults and one kid (5 year old)
mostly interested lang kami sa site seeing. Ayoko mashado lumayo from train station
kase we need to go back paris for flying out.

Then I suggest you go visit Geneve (Geneva) and which is basically a city.  I suggest that you book a round trip (Paris - Geneva) via TGV Lyria.  Geneva is a french speaking city but not as snooty as parisians.  Almost all swiss cities have "Old towns" which are very interesting to see if you are into walking.  Lots of cafes and small restaurants and stores within the area.  Their architectures as also amazing.

If a city (geneva) doesn't excite you, Mont Blanc (Chamonix) is a good visit as well as this is one of the famous alps (for me their Alps is one of the greatest treasure of Switzerland!).  You may take SBB from geneva train station.

hi! Same here. I'm hoping to pass by Switzerland for 3 days and 2 nights. Initial itinerary is Paris - somewhere in Switzerland - Florence - Rome. I'm mostly done with France and Italy's itineraries.

Would a day trip to Chamonix be enough? Or is it more feasible to stay there the whole time?

If you want to be near nature (alps all around), then its interlaken.  But if you want a city vibe, its zurich.

Switzerland talaga you have to go to the Alps... it's breath taking once you're at the top! I was rugged up when we went to Mt. Rigi but I was surprisingly quite warm when we reached the top... I took off my padded coat.

We will be flying to Zurich on Oct 31. 10:50am arrival. And fly out on Nov 4, 12nn.

Plan is to stay in Lucerne since we want to experience the Alps. Wala pang day-to-day itinerary, but from what I've read, Mt. Rigi, Mt. Pilatus, Mt. Titlis ang options if staying in Lucerne. Jungfrau is far from Lucerne and I'm not sure if my mom can handle the glacier experience well, lamigin kasi siya and 60 y/o na.

Exhausting ba pumunta sa mentioned mountains? and malamig ba sa Mt. Titlis?

We want to go to 2 mountains sana, or isa na lang if it's too exhausting. Any recos? TIA!

Subscribing! Thinking of doing a daytrip (or go overnight) in Lucerne since I have to attend a training in Strasbourg. Did a quick search on where I can go from Strasbourg and it was Lucerne that stuck with me. Initially wanted to do a daytrip pero why not overnight kaya ano? This is exciting me more than Paris (so much, that if they don't grant my extension, baka Lucerne na lang over Paris! Lol).

Just waiting for advice from the sponsor kung ma-modify pa nila ang flights ko going back.
