You can pay it sa bills payment ng SM malls or go directly sa bank and pay it sa counter

^ Most (or if not all) credit cards issued here in the Philippines pwedeng gamitin overseas. As long as these credit cards use one of the major credit card companies - VISA, Mastercard, American Express, etc - you're good!

You'll be charged in dollars, converted ng local banks natin into peso - so you get the peso equivalent ng pinamili mo. Unless your Philippine issued credit card is dollar-denominated (like that one in Metrobank) or dual-currency (some platinum cards have that feature).

^ sis, in ulta.com kasi, the credit card allowed should have a US billibg address. that's precisely why I'm asking kung meron bang philippine-issued CC with a US billing address. :)

Ah, looks like I misunderstood that. Pang online purchase?

So meron ka bang magagamit na US billing address to checkout the items sa site?

So far I don't know any Philippine-issued CC na may provision na pwedeng maglagay ng US billing address. The solution I could think in your situation is to have a US relative or friend pay for the items in the US then have them handcarried (they have to open the box) or ship these via Johnny Air or similar services.

Dapat yung mga credit card companies mag automatic send ng temporary code sa cellphone to be used sa online purchases line airfares.  Pag nag change ng cellphone number, then that's the time they must verify the credentials.

^If the creditor is no longer living, hindi pwede mapasa ang utang sa ibang tao kahit sa immediate family.  Yan ang golden rule sa ating batas.  The debt has to be paid by the creditor's estates or assets. These companies know that they cannot collect from dead creditor's immediate family pero they send notification or pananakot for the sake na may macollect lang.  Pero according to our law, the debt of the dead person cannot be passed on to the next kin.  So pwede mo dedmahin ang mga notices from the credit card companies.  But just to be sure, pag medyo garapal na sila magsend ng notice, you may seek the advice of lawyers, baka pwede mo sila kasuhan for threatening you since against the law ang ginagawa nila.

It will be easier that way.

^Actually, the right thing to do is to use the property (asset) of the deceased account holder to pay off the debt.  Pero kung not enough, it is not in the burden of the family member to pay the debt of the dead.

I remember how HSBC tortured my sister when my dad died.  Unfortunately for my sister, during her first working month in HSBC as a collection call agent, my dad died.  Sad to say, we were sobrang baon sa utang that time because only my dad had work and me and my mom were not earning that much.  When they heard that my dad died, they wanted my sister to pay the whole 100% of the debt which resulted to us to borrow money just to pay off dad's credit card balance, since my dad has other big utang.  Then on the third month of my sister working for HSBC as collection agent, they had a seminar that debt of a deceased person cannot be passed on to the family.  She later on resigned from HSBC.  It was explained to them on that seminar that banks have allowances for "bad debts".  Pero they still bullied her to pay my dad's utang kahit na we were already trying to make ends meet.

^Its okay na sis.  Even if we had to borrow money just to pay the P70k utang of my dad.  Blessed na kami ngayon and money is no longer issue to us.  Pero that time, talagang we had no choice but to give in to the bullying because we were not educated that debt cannot be transferred to living kin.  :)

My grandfather's outstanding balance is 40k... ang property nya is a house and lot... how would they get their share na 40k?

My mom and her siblings plan to pay 20k muna... papayag kaya ang bank...? Then yun next 20k pagnakuha na yun burial from SSS...

Is that 40k debt sa credit card or debt sa housing loan?

Coz if it's debt sa house and lot, ang sasalo ng payment ay yung MRI (mortgage redemption insurance) which is actually a requirement in housing loans. Check that one. Malaking tulong yan coz the insurance will pay the debt left by the housing loan.

If it's credit card debt, then probably what was discussed above (the debt should be dissolved with the death of the owner) applies.

Ah, yung sa Citibank? http://www.citibank.com.ph/PHGCB/APPS/portal/loadPage.do?tabNo=3&path=/prod/sub_det/shield_benefits.htm

Looks like it's basically form of an accident, death and disability insurance plan. But this is optional - mukhang may premium pa ring binabayaran kasi which is actually the catch of this "benefit".

CreditShield PLUS provides peace of mind to you and your loved ones. Your family need not worry about your credit card bills if you pass away, become temporarily or permanently disabled, or are diagnosed with a covered critical illness.  CreditShield PLUS softens the financial impact on you and your family, especially if you have other financial obligations.

CreditShield PLUS covers death, permanent disability or first diagnosis of seven (7) critical illnesses. In the event of temporary disablement for more than 30 days, CreditShield PLUS will pay for the minimum amount due up to six (6) months.
