Circumcision in babies

Hi mommies, please share your experience nung nacircumcise baby niyo. Gusto kasi namin ipacircumcise baby ko kasi nagka UTI siya. Please refer a doctor na din and how much inabot nung operation. Wala kasi kaming idea about dun eh. Thank you.

the baby should be new born sis, my eldest dati 8 days old that time. Some of my friends the following day pag labas ni baby.

Then advice ng pedia, if hindi na circumsized ng new born, 9 years old na.

For those who had their newborns circumcized, may i ask why you decided to have it done as a newborn, and was/were there complications? Or mas ok na newborn?

circumcised na din ang baby ko.  He was circumcised a week old.  Dati I didn't want to pero ngayon na tapos na okay na rin.  Kase sa pagkakatanda ko as in 2 days lang siya naging irritable dahil sa circumcision (so that would mean 2 days medyo kulang talaga ako ng tulog kakaiyak niya) pero after nun on the third day, as in super okay na siya (mahaba na uli ang sleep niya at masayahin na siya).  So okay na din kase pag naiisip ko na medyo matanda na siya icircumcised lam ko mas matagal sa 3 days yung maeexperience nilang pain so okay na din na tapos na at di na niya mafefeel yung ganung pain Sis, try to ask kaya your son's pedia. Kase yung samin, yung pedia niya yata yung gumawa (though I'm not really sure..nakalimutan ko na)  But andun din ang husband ni pediatrician (surgeon yun so baka siya yung nagperform ng operation).

My baby din 3.5 yrs due for circumcision kasi 4x na sya nagkaka uti. All his tests were normal, so yun lang yung cause ng uti nya. I wish i had him done while he was new born. But better do it now than maulit pa ulit uti nya. Sa st. Luke's na pedia urologist gagawa.

I had my son circumcised siguro, days after he was born. My OB was my sister in law so siya na rin ang nagperform nang operation.  My reason then was he wont remember the pain kasi baby pa nga. My husband agreed with me kasi he too was circumcised at birth.

My baby was circumcised as well when he was days old. Reason? I guess para hindi na siya mag suffer pag teenager na siya. Wala naman naging problem. He's 4 yrs old now.

Both my sons were circumcised days after they were born, all performed by urologists. I think it is better to have them circumcised while newborn since baby pa sila, they won't remember the pain, compared sa pag lumaki na sila. Plus, we decided to go with the procedure since we saw a couple of friends na hindi circumcised yun sons nila and they ended bup with UTI. Kawawa un kid since mga 1 week nasa hospital. For my third son, we will also have him circumcised Although sabi ng mga matatanda, sometimes, it's better to perorm circumcision pag medyo malaki na un bata since there is a chance na hindi maganda yun pagtuli pag baby pa, so I guess it really depends on you and your husband's decision

my son was circumcised when he was 2 days old. My husband din kasi he was already circumcised yung baby pa siya so ganun din ginawa namin sa first born namin.

It cost us 6k for the procedure and sinama na siya sa fee ng OB ko. My OB and the pedia gave us instructions on how to take care / clean the baby's penis.

Mukhang magpapa-circumcise na din kami while newborn. Sabi ng doctor, yung pain is more psychological daw. My friends with boys na nagpa-circumcise as a newborn, sabi parang wala lang daw nangyari. Tsaka at least nasa hospital pa ako during his recovery. Mkakatulong yung nurse mag-dress ng wound.

Ask ko lang ano ba ang advantage kapag newborn siya circumcised compare kapag binata na siya?
Saka how much usually kapag baby?

I am 8th weeks pregnant now in which of course I don't know yet if what gender of my baby I am carrying. Though I mentioned to my boyfriend that if in case that our baby is boy then I want na circumcise agad kasi pag lumaki siya ayoko rin naman na maranasan niya yung pain.

I'm planning to have my baby circumcised while we are still in the hospital.  (My EDD is Oct 14.) I just want to ask how long it took for your baby's wound to heal and if there were any complications.  My concern is I have to take care of 2 things: his umbilical cord and dressing for his circumcision. Mahirap ba to do it?  TIA!

No complications with mine. We had it done when he was 3 days old. Dapat nga 2 days kaso busy si doc. He wasn't even fuzzy after the procedure. Parang wala lang. Kain- tulog lang siya. The uro pedia prescribed an antibiotic ointment for the wound which we applied every nappy change for the first week tapos after that 2x a day nalang. Nauna pa ata gumaling yung pututi ng baby ko than the umbilical cord falling off.

Paid the uro pedia 10k sis. I met him before i gave birth, he was recommended by my pedia. We discussed the procedure, price and the type of cut we wanted. My husband wanted a gomco cut for our little boy eh si uro pedia yun din ang preferred cut niya. So yeah if i'll have a boy again, id have him circumcised kasi parang wala lang talaga kay baby. My parents nga told me to wait till he is about a couple of weeks older but i trust the uro pedia that 2nd or 3rd day of life okay na to have it done. Easy lang din to take care of the sugat. We did not use cotton buds to apply the ointment ha. Sabi ni doc kasi baka magka cotton fringes pa so we applied it directly from the tube.

I'm pregnant with my second baby and this one is a boy, my mom is insisting that we have him circumcised na at birth. I spoke with my pedia and she recommends the same rin, preferably within the first week of being born as babies won't feel pain pa daw. So hopefully a day or two after he's born while we are still at the hospital. I'd rather the nurses handle the wound while it's still "fresh". Though my pedia said it will depend on the size rin and she will assess. Actual procedure will be done by a surgeon - german cut.

So happy I had my boy done at 3.5 yrs old due to repeat uti. How i wish i had it done days after he was born. Saglit lang yung procedure around 30 mins i think. Kasama ako sa loob ng OR hanggang sa fully sedated na sya. 3 pm kami pumaso around 7 pinauwi na kami. At home naman 2 days sya na nasa bed room lang para ma air dry yung wound nya. Di ko sya nilagyan ng diaper. May antibiotic ointment na pinapahid sa wound and may pain reliever na ininom. Hindi naman sya umiyak after we brought him home. Mas umiyak pa nga sya sa isang test na ginawa sa kanya yung VCUG na ginawa na ng ibang doctor (dr. Bisnar of Fe Del Mundo). Nagsisi ako bakit ako nagpa 2nd opinion pa. Eh hindi na pala need yung vcug according to his urologist (dr. Dy of St.Lukes) and napag alaman ko pa na naging student pala ni Dr. Dy si Dr.Bisnar. Sigh.

Next time na magka baby boy ako, papa circumcise ko na agad.

^^I didn't know either, it was the pedia who mentioned it. She said it's better to have a surgeon do it as they do german cut whereas some pedias do a different cut which could result in needing circumcision again when the boy is older.

i had my baby circumcised din when he was a newborn. i actually asked the opinion of my ob if it would be best to have it done that time or wait later nalang pag laki, ob recommended to have it done days after he was born. and sabi rin ni ob buti we had him circumcised kasi ang dami na daw dumi sa loob nakaipit which could have lead to UTI nga.
