sis rics, you're in GTA pala, can you please give us an idea or suggestion kung saan ok to first settle, yung family oriented area at sana madaming pinoy?

and to those who have school-aged kids, ano feedback from them? Mas enjoy ba sila dyan compared sa pinas? Less or more homeworks? Strict ba dyan? Madali lang ba sila naka-adjust?

^it is advisable to live near the subway line or yung may 24hr bus specially if you will not have a car right away. The GTA is quite big, with budget as the foremost factor,  its really hard to pinpoint exactly the right place to live. Scarborough is on the east side of Toronto. good transit system, madaming pinoy stores, madaming pinoy. will you be buying a house right away? or renting an apartment or basement? There's Mississauga on the west side of Toronto, dito marami industries.

Along North York at the border of Scarborough, there are a lot of apartments for rent. Good location near grocery, shopping, transit.

study the map of gta first, then check viewit.ca for apartment rent. sabi ko nga, it will all boil down to the budget. if you have other questions, shoot me an email and will be happy to help

at sana din may malapit lang na school.
definitely magrerent muna kami sa umpisa.
nagtitingin din ako sa kijiji.ca so i have an idea na sa range ng monthly rent kaya lang ang lawak ng range nanakikita ko kasi nga andami kong areas na tinitignan hehe
i'll look into thise areas you mentioned ulit.

^Hi sis, wala pa naman akong kids but according to some of my Pinoy friends who migrated here during gradeschool years and some friends and relatives, eh okay naman. Walang homework and walang bumabagsak. Hehe. Hindi ko nga alam kung paano yun eh. Pero dito kasi hindi lang academics ang focus, marami din extra activities. Yun lang, in a way magastos and ma-effort. Yung mga officemates ko na mommies, kung ano-ano binebenta para sa school band, hockey team, camp, etc. etc. hehe. Yung sa sister in law ko, yung MIL ko na lang ang bumibili ng mga pinabenta sa kanya. haha. Yung mga clubs kasi, they raise their own funds eh lalo na kung competitive. Libre naman kasi ang school dito kaya yung mga extra curricular, effort na ng mga mommies ng student.

Kung in terms naman sa kalagayan ng bata sa school, I think okay naman. Madali maka adjust mga bata. Parang ang saya saya nga nila eh. Although, sabi ng pinsan namin na 7 years old, mas gusto nya daw sa Pinas kasi lagging summer. hehe. Hindi lang kasi sila lagging lumalabas pag winter. Pero kung ma expose naman ang bata sa winter activities, eh magulang na ang magsasawa.

from what i know, you can either enroll your kids in a public school, or a catholic school, or if you have the money, in a private school.

Grade school/elementary is from jrk to middle school, then you go to hs.
wala naman problem if your kids transfer here. my kid has several classmates na, who came from the phils, hindi masyado marunong mag english at first, but was able to catch up with the language in a couple of months. also if hirap sa english, there is a special esl class in the school. this will be an easy transition for your kids. madila naman maka cope ang kids. also, note that schools here - generally are ranked. not sure how i can explain it better, but its just like there are A+ schools as well as D- schools. so depending on where you will live, you might want to consider this also.

if you have 2 kids, you need 2rooms. around the north york area, low rise apartments siguro $1400 more or less, this is inclusive of electricity+water.

choose an apartment close to a bus stop atleast, hirap lumakad during winter.

^ Ok pala school environment dyan, relaxed, di tulad dito sa singapore very stressful. Yung bunso ko ok pa kase wala pa masyadong hw. Yung eldest ko, everyday mini-test sa math, 2x a week spelling (english & mandarin - mga long sentences & phrases), homeworks na math worksheets pinapasagot na tig iilang pages, english worksheets din pati mandarin activity book ilang pges din yun! araw araw nauubos oras nya sa bahay tapusin mga yun nakakapagod talaga. Minsan nga pag magreklamo na sya di ko na pinipilit. She used to have gymnastics 2x a week kaya lang late na sya nakakauwi, then pagdating sa bahay andami pang kelangang gawin hw! Meron na naman nga silang assessment coming up. Di ko na sya irereview sa dami ba naman ng ginagawa. Kaya pag weekends at holiday kung walang hw, hinahayaan ko na lang sila makipaglaro with their friends na kapitbahay namin.

Napahaba na tuloy post ko! Hahaha sencia na mga sis.. Anyway glad to hear kids are happy dyan.  ako din magiging super happy for my kids pag ganyan! lol!

About the rental, kelangan pala talaga 2br? Kala ko pwede kami sa 1br para cheaper sana. Mejo may kamahalan kaya kelangan talaga may work to get by.

Mga sis, question lang.  First time immigrant ako ng Canada and planning by September pumunta.  Tingin nyo risky ba if I'll travel muna to U.S., short vacation lang, mga 2 weeks before proceeding to Canada? TIA

^Not really, kung wala ka naman gagawin masama. Pero hindi ba hassle kasi bitbit mo buong bagahe going to the US and to Canada and be careful what you buy and the quantity that you will buy in the US.

I am not sure this matters, but double check kung anong airport entry lang ang pwede for first time immigrant. Not sure if pwede ka dumiretso sa Winnipeg from US. May mga flights kasi na US din ang stopover. Buti may US visa ka na. Pwede na maglong drive to Minneapolis!

hello mga sis. patulong naman po. nagstart na po ako mag fill up ng application for spouse visa. my husband is canadian citizen and i'm filipina. yung sa mga document na proof of relationship. kailangan po ba na original na mga greeting cards ang ipapadala? pwede po ba na scan copy ng mga greeting cards?

tsaka po yung medical kailangan na ba kumuha or hihintayin muna advise ng embassy?
Yung NBI clearance kailangan pa ba ipa-red rebond sa DFA?

kagagaling lang namin ni hubby sa Princeton Migration Services kanina for free assessment and one on one discussion, so happy sa mga natutunan namin. gusto talaga namin migrate either Australia, NZ or Canada. at least ngayon decided na kami na Canada. backread ako ng madami nito.

Hi mga sis. Ask ko lang po. Kasi yung boyfriend ko kukunin sana ako sa canada spousal visa. Eh may job offer sakin sa uk as a nurse. Nagdadalawang isip ako kung pupunta pa ako sa uk or wait ko na lang bf ko na makuha niya ako. Pero gusto kong pumunta sa uk may referral na kasi ako dun, and madali lang makapasok kasi my uncle works there and hiring sila. Ang question ko is pwede kayang dun ako magprocess ng documents regarding sa pagkuha sakin ng bf ko sa canada? Pero sa pilipinas kami magpapakasal if ever. Uuwi to get married then balik sa uk pero sa uk na magprocess. What do you think mga sis? And also. I heard na pagdating ng canada hindi kpa nurse dun kahit na rn ka sa pinas, what are the things to do to practice as a nurse sa canada po mga sis? Thanks.

^wala na ngang fiance visa, eto din dapat ang gagawin ng friend ko e, hehe..ayun, kaya need na lang nila magpasakal mabilis kasi kapag kasal, yung isa ko namang friend na guy, after 4mos from the month na kinasal sila, nakapunta na don yung wifey nya

anyway, if ever, papakasal na kayo this year,mabilis na lang ata yung process non e..pero kung hindi pa naman, e di kunin mo munayugn job offer sa UK, ma-experience man lang, hehe

let's say nagpprocess na kayo ng spousal visa...hindi ko lang sure kung hahanapan ka pa ng FBI, once na nagwork ka sa UK, if more than 6mos ka don..

Sis ennaira021, I THINK you can process your papers sa UK Visa office. After all, it is just processing a visa. Para ka na rin nagprocess ng tourist visa going to US while in UK diba. But please verify this very well. Marami kasi na umuuwi talaga ng Pinas just to process Spouse Visa.

Not to discourage you pero mahirap maging nurse dito. Hindi naman recognized ang PRC dito. The upside siguro is that if you are willing, marami naman other healthcare profession na pwede mo pasukin while waiting for your nursing license. Pero madugo talaga ang nursing dito. Icheck mo din mabuti yung process how to be a nurse here in Canada kasi from time to time, nag-iiba ang rules nila.
