mga sis who are already in canada, i need your inputs. i am applying either as spouse visa or immigrant january of next year. i have a 3-year old son with me and my husband is currently working in Grande Prairie. i know it is a major leap of decision kaya ayokong magpadalos dalos sa decision making regarding this one. mahirap ba buhay dyan? although pag dating ko dun, there is a job waiting for me naman sa mcdo as fca. but i am just afraid, it is my first time na mawalay sa poder ng parents ko. although wala ako prob sa hubby ko cause he (maybe) is adjusted na there but, i am really really afraid to fail. like i am really worried what will happen to our son there. stuffs like that. i am really weighing things out now. what can you advise mga sis? thanks in advance! godbless us!

^mas maganda ang magpalaki ng bata dito.  mas affordable ang medical, mas madaming childcare para makapagtrabaho ka.

Like I've said in my previous posts, if you work hard, you'll get what you deserve.

thanks sis showermist! madami kasi nag ddiscourage sa akin, because we have a neighbor here  na umuwe na dito sa pinas after a year sa vancouver kasi nahihirapan na daw. yun talaga kinatatakot ko. but, i think it is just a matter of detemination. if one is really determined, one will most likely succeed.  help me God!

Honestly, mahirap talaga dito sa Vancouver. One of the most expensive city in Canada.  Medyo mahirap ding maghanap ng work. Kaya if you're going to migrate here, choose muna yung ibang city.

I was watching the news a few days back and I was dumbfounded to learn that for less than $350k, you can buy a 4-5 bedrrom house in Ontario pero yung $350k won't buy you a three bedroom townhouse in the neighboring towns of Vancouver.

Hubby's friend(with his family) just got sa Regina, Saskatchewan. Malayong syudad pero nakahanap na agad yung mag asawa ng work. And found a childcare for their child.

Compare mo sis. And weigh your options.

Ask you sis to pull out your application. Pwede yun. Kasi if you're over 18 and is out of school hindi ka nya mapepetisyon eh.

And AFAIK, she can't petition you dahil kapatid ka lang niya. But depende kung anong edad mo.

hi sis @babyvox! this may be unsolicited since buhay mo naman yan pero i suggest hayaan mo na lang umandar yung application. Pwede naman kasi magrant ang visa pero not necessarily na kailangan eh kasabay ka sa pagpunta sa canada. 22 ka naman na so pwede ka magtravel alone. or pwede ka sumama, then kung hindi mo talaga feel eh di umuwi ka na lang. yung friend ko dito, nakaprovincial nominee, dependent lang din sya sa parents  pero nauna yung parents nya tapos after 2 months saka lang sya sumunod. just take note na may validity ang visa. dapat makadating ka na ng canada before that period ends or else ulit sa simula ang application.

hassle nga naman kasi to pull the application. plus the sponsorship din kaso for parents was temporarily paused at hindi sure kung kailangan ibabalik. for the mean time, super visa (longer tourist visa) na lang muna ang pwede sa parents. baka dyan natatakot ang kapatid mo, na baka biglang malipat yung parents mo sa super visa if in-alter pa yung application.

mga sis question lang po.. what if kung naka petition ka, tapos ayaw mo na sumama or tumuloy.. inde ba maapektuhan yung application ng ibng family members?. yung sister ko po kasi pinetition kami ng mama,papa ko at ako.. what if ayoko na pumunta?. magkakaproblem ba mga magulang ko sa pagpunta sa canada? i mean sila nalang yung tutuloy sa petition tapos ako hindi na.. thank you po mga sis..

Sis, bata ka pa. Marami pa pwedeng mangyari sayo. The last thing you wanna do is do something now that you'd regret later. Ako dati nung ganyang age, pinipilit ako ng mom ko na mag apply na ng FSW. Mabilis pa noon. Eh since I had a boyfriend (now my hubby), syempre ayaw ko. Ngayon nagsisisi ako kasi sana now nakapasok na ko sa Backlog Pilot program and me and my hubby will be waiting for our visas already. Ngayon kasi nagaantay palang kami ng opening kasi we were not eligible to apply the past few years.

Try it first. Then kung ayaw mo talaga and your time to decide is up, then let go. At least wala na yung mga what if questions in the future

agree with all our sisters here. halos ata lahat na ng kakilala ko, gusto makapunta ng canada. go na sis. tapos, if it's not really suitable for you, jan ka na magdecide. just give it a shot first.

May question lang ako, anyone here na may alam ng procedure ng PNP General Stream sa Manitoba?    I'm waiting for my IELTS result na lang, gusto ko lang sana i confirm if kailangan ko pa ba mag produce ng bagong documents.  Kasi yung documents ko dated January 2012 pa, (hindi kasi naasikaso nung nasa Canada) hanggang sa inabutan na ko ng required na yung IELTS.  Check ko lang sana if I can still use my old documents.  TIA

hi mga sis! merry christmas  . need your advice lang. included yung application ko sa backlog reduction pilot ng fsw under british columbia. last week, received ko na yung nomination from british columbia. the problem is, di na ako sure kung gusto ko pa ituloy pumunta. siguro halong kaba na dahil wala ako kilala/relatives dun, not sure kung magiging succesful and mas maganda na ang position ko ngayon sa present job ko as compared nung nag apply ako as immigrant (2006 pa yun).

question mga sis esp. sa mga nasa british columbia, mahirap ba ngayon mag apply ng work dyan? is it worth it to start a new life sa case ko na 40y.o., single, civil engr. (though i know hindi ko agad maapply yung profession ko).

I was in a a workshop today and was able to talked to three engineers. They've been in Canada for 1-4 years. One is a mechanical engineer from Sri Lanka with a 21 years extensive experience in his field. He's been in Canada for 4 years, the closest he could get for a job that somehow related to his experience is being a technician. And it took him pa just this year para lang makuha yung job na iyon. He upgraded his credentials to match the jobs and what's required here. Not that much luck yet.

One is an engineer from Romania who has 7 years experience in engineering manufacturing--I can't remember the exact job.  He's in Canada for one year na and wala pa syang nahahanap na work na related sa job nya--he is still upgrading.

And the last one is an engineer from Korea. Her work e sa project development. She worked in her home country, UK, US, Indonesia. Andito sya ngayon sa Canada but apparently, she can't find a job that suited her. She is also upgrading--nakakapangalahati na sya.

That's the reality here in british columbia right now. I am not going to sugarcoat. Unless you're willing to relocate sa ibang probinsya where theres a higher demands sa job mo, it's okay. But then you have to consider rin the rules under provincial nominee.  It's a struggle to find a job here, back to square one. Pero ganun naman talaga di ba. Tiyaga tiyaga lang.

Kahit pa mas mahirap ngayon ang maghanap ng work dito, I still prefer working and living here.

You said you're 40 years old. So what? Kung gusto mo talaga makapunta dito and magsimula ng bago--as in from scratch--, may mararating ka naman eh. Tiyagaan nga lang. Dahil it'll take you months or, realistically speaking, years to get a job na related sa job mo.

Meron din akong nakilala last week, he's an engineer at sa PLDT sya nagtrabaho for 15 years before moving here in Vancouver. May idea ka kung ilang taon na sya? Nasa early 40's din. He's now working as a sales assistant sa Koodoo. A mobile company. He can't upgrade because wala syang sapat na pera to upgrade. He needs to pay the rent and bills kaya kailangan nyang magtrabaho. I encouraged him nga to join the workshop pero umayaw dahil wala daw syang oras para mag-upgrade ng credentials nya.

I hope this hasn't disappointed you. But this is the reality right now. Ang maipapayo ko lang, be flexible pag dating mo dito. You will be competing with engineers from different countries who are also an immigrants like you, and you will be competing with canadians who has canadian education and experience. Lahat mga matatalino rin na gaya mo, have extensive experience sa field. It's a real competition ang paghahanap ng work.

Kung ano lang ang hinihingi sa iyo, yun lang ang i-provide mo. If they want documents from you, papadalhan ka ng letter and instruction.

hi mga sis. i am applying under the fsw may 2013 scheme. sana nga makapasa. although, pumasa naman ako sa 67 points na requirement. kaya lang, there's just one thing that slows me down, i have a job offer sa company ng husband ko sa gp, but it is in a semi-skilled position (fca, noc 6641). all i know if one is applying under fsw arranged employment scheme, the job offer should be in a skilled position. does anybody have an idea about this? cause from the new fsw rules released last dec 21 by minister kenney, it doesn't state that on an arranged employment, it should be skilled.. so i suppose that any job offer/order will be sufficient provided it has a contract and positive lmo from hrsdc?

^ as long  as there's a job offer, a positive LMO--they are almost the same.

FSW or low FSW still have 4 years to work in Canada, as far as I know. Unless the employer will support them in applying for the PR status.

Hi sis showermist, bale mag first time ko ulit mag-apply sa Manitoba PNP, hindi kasi nakarating sa CIO ba yun yung documents ko. Natulog lang sa bahay ng kamag-anak namin.

Dun kasi sa checklist, nakalagay notarized school credentials.  Medyo na co confuse lang ako if this has to be DFA authenticated, or tatatakan lang ng Certified True copy lang ng school, or ipapa notaryo lang yung photocopy kong credentials sa notary public.  Baka you could help me sis.  TIA
