I'm needing travel trips too. Will be travelling soon and I'm dreading the day. Naku sis prettydefined that's the last thing I wanted to hear from a co-passenger. Baka kung ano magawa ko. So scared. Medyo iyakin kasi baby ko. And then this friend told me about an incident that happened in hongkong/china na nagsapakan yung nanay tsaka passenger because of her baby crying. Nakakaloka.

^sis not all passengers are like that naman.. Malay mo matyempo kayo sa mababait na katabi.

I experienced travelling alone with my kids since they were as young as 3mos. But mga less than 4hrs travel time lang naman. Fortunately, every travel namin mababait mga naging katabi ko. Some would play with my toddler, and even help me na aliwin anak ko if needed.
Nakatulong din na hindi sila iyakin even they were babies and dami ko baon to keep them occupied: food, coloring materials, papers, toys...
Good luck :)

Hello mga sis! We'll be migrating soon kasama ang son namin. By that time, he'll be 6 months. I exclusively pump my breastmilk since my son doesn't latch directly on me. Gano kadami ang pwede kong dalhin na breastmilk on board? I'm planning to put it in a cooler bag since kailangan ma-maintain ang temp ng breastmilk para hindi masira. Has anyone experienced this mga sis? By the way, we'll be on an approx 20 hour flight kaya i'm planning way ahead para di ako mataranta pag malapit na. Thank you mga sis!

Kahit gaano karami sis. You are exempted to 3-1-1rule since mahaba ang flight nyo.

That really happened?  Nagsapakan?  Sa bagay, as a passenger you would not want to be seated to a crying baby.  So to avoid this, don't sit in the front row which is designated for seniors and babies.  Sa cathay pacific, babies have every right to cry or do whatever babies do because they pay 30% of the fee and sits in the mommies or yayas lap lang.

Priceless

In fairness to people who travel without kids, most of them naman understand and can empathize that it is challenging talaga. Pero kasi, meron din namang mga parents who travel unprepared and just blame the kids for being kids without really even trying to take control of the situation. Para bang hayaan nalang umiyak, magtatakbo at mag-ingay yung bata without even trying to calm the child or tone the noise down a bit.

Meron pang ibang parents na sobrang irrational and demanding - there was one time I was on a long haul flight - I can't remember the airline, pero the parent demanded that I turn off my reading light and my inflight screen kasi daw hindi makatulog yung anak nya. I was seated behind her, and she likewise demanded that the passengers beside them do the same! Aba tinarayan ko nga, sabi ko if she needs quiet and a dark place, magpalipat sya ng upuan or ipa-upgrade nya ako. I don't mind that she asks me to turn off the reading light - which I did, pero ano naman ang pakialam nya sa inflight entertainment ko since nasa likod naman nya ako at hindi naman nakikita ng anak nya kung ano man ang pinapanood ko.

^^ yes sis nagsapakan talaga. Nasa news siya. I-google mo na lang may makita ka picture Nung nag away na mommy and passenger.

Finally nakaraos din ang first out of town trip ng baby ko. Thank God she slept the entire trip. Super ngalay both my arms. Hay ang hirap maging nanay.

I've learn a lot on this first trip. Kahit nag overpacked na ko, dami pa rin nakalimutan tsk tsk.

I brought breastmilk too.  There is no limited according to the police on duty.  They are not that strict na raw lalo na they know na breastmilk yun.

How do you change dirty diaper of a toddler while travelling? My toddler would not lie down for a diaper change so those changing tables never worked for us. Wonder how everybody does it while on an airplane lavatory or while on the go in a different country? Stop by sa resto and change nappy? Been wanting to go back to Europe but ive been hesistant to take our baby with us. He'll be a year old by then and it takes two people to wash him up for nappy changes sa sobrang kulit now at 10 months old.

^if it really can't be helped, lalo na if we're somewhere na walang toilet, what we did was go to a corner or somewhere na wala masyadong tao, then change nappies while my baby's in the stroller.

Very troublesome talaga, to be honest, traveling to a diff country with a baby/young toddler. You need to pack lots of stuff pa (milk, bottles, diapers, brushes, baby foods, bring the stroller, etc ugh) If i were you, wait for your baby to grow a bit older pa.
I experienced that kasi, my family went to HK 4d/3n tapos my youngest was just 1 yr old. Hassle talaga. And now, my kid can't even remember it, except when looking at the pics! Lol

^^we use nappy pants when we travel. They're a smidge thinner than her usual nappies, but it works for us. She doesn't need to lie down and mas madali sya palitan. Hubby is the one in charge of nappy changes while we're on the plane kasi ang sikip sikip naman sa lavatory. He only brings one medium sized ziplock bag that has one spare nappy and one nappy disposal plastic bag. Saka shempre wipes...

if it can be delayed, delay your long haul flights muna. Ang liit pa ni baby, kawawa mapagod sa flight tapos jetlag pa. Ours is 21 months old, hubby is dying to go to the US, and ako naman, Europe. Pero kung mahihirapan anak namin, mahihirapan rin kami, wag na lang.

I was thinking of bring him to Europe in a couple of months, i guess i have to scrap that idea. Wag nalang baka di lang din ako mag enjoy. Scheduled to spend Christmas in the states and he'll be 17 months old by then, 3 nights in Taiwan then we head to the states (11 hour flight). Hope it wont be as bad as i expect it to be. At what age does it usually get easier to travel with a toddler. 3 years old? 4?

Waahh, thinking of bringing our daughter to US early next year. Pero kinakabahan ako so pag-isipan ko muna ulit.. kaming 3 lang kasi ni hubby if ever.. about 1yr9mos sya by then.. ayaw pa actually ni husband i-long haul, sana pag around 3yo na daw. E ayaw ko naman iwan if ever babyahe kami ng more than a few days.. Waahh..

HK was easy kasi malapit lang. Ganun din sa domestic. I didn't have to change her diapers sa plane, pinapalitan ko na pag malapit na boarding time.. in November mag-Japan kami, sana matulog lang sya sa flight, haha! She'll be 1.5yo by then.. but i'll make our itinerary kinda chillax lang para me allowances for breaks (diaper change, feeding, tantrums, etc) in between gala..

For long haul travel I would say 4 years old and up. Why? The terrorist threes!

As much as possible I would not want to travel with my baby less than that - there's just so much to bring and the itinerary will have to be much slower paced. I did not get to enjoy our trip to HK when my daughter was 10 months old. She turns 4 early next year and I plan to take her to the US for summer vacation.

But goodluck to me, we will have a trip to visit the paternal grandparents (great-grandparents to my kids) and  my son will be 1, my daughter a few months shy of turning 4. I only agreed to the trip if I could bring one yaya along with us.
