Hong Kong Guide (Thread 29)

Hi mga sis! Heto na ang aking feedback sa HK trip namin. Sorry medyo delayed na ng ilang araw dahil sa naiwang mga trabaho. 

Day 1
Arrived at HK 7:40A AM. Dahil free wifi sa airport umupo muna kami about 30mins to update our friends/relatives that we will meet for lunch. Bought 2 octupus cards HKD150 each. My son is 3 y/o but when I asked the counter if I needed to buy an Octupus card for my son she said no need after asking how old my son is. Thankful naman ako at sya pang matitipid. hehe Sumakay ng MTR then alighted at Tsing Yi station, transferred to the orange line to Sunny Bay station. Again transferred to Disney Resort line. By the way. first night namin kasi will be in disneyland Hotel. Pagdating ng Disneyland, picture picture ng may mga bagahe sa entrance ng park then went to the ques for busses going to the Hotel.

Check in at Kingdom Club Room sa Disneyland Hotel. The room is ok lang for me. Nothing special sa interior. What I like is the bathroom. May TV sa loob, and 2-doors mukhang bongga talaga.  May veranda din with the view of the maze garden. While checking in we were offered drinks. Strikto sila 3:00PM talaga ang check in time. hehe So iniwan muna namin ang luggages then went to Central to meet our friends. Nag lunch na rin kami sa labas, sorry I did not took down the names and prices ng mga pagkain. hahaha Basta naalala ko ang bill namin HKD186 sya 3 rice meal at isang noodles. Sa may Can-Teen kami kumain sa central nito.

After some chit chats we went back to the hotel and slept for 2 hours. Pag gising hayun na sinulit na ang mga pagkain. 6-8PM nagseserve sila ng appetizers, wines and beers aside from the all day biscuits, fruits and juices. The appetizers naku over qualified appetizers sila sakin. hahaha Yung pwede na talagang ulamin wala lang rice pero sobrang busog kami. After kumain picture picture na sa garden para sa night view, swimming konti, akyat sa kingdom club lounge and ate biscuits again, juice and warm milk for my son while waiting for Mickey or Minnie in pajamas. Surprise pala ito kung sino sa kanila ang darating basta 8:45 to 9:00 PM isa sa kanila ang darating. hehe Dumating that night si Minnie. Starstrucked ang anak ko. Hindi sya makapagsalita, nung nahimasmasan na aba hinihila na si Minnie at pinapakita na nya ang drawings nya. hahaha Kahit makailang goodbye na si Minnie hinahabol ng mga kids. iba talaga ang epekto ng mga characters na to. hahaha Nung nakita namin yung reaction ng anak ko kay Minnie nag decide kaming magbook na sa breakfast buffet ng Enchanted Garden on our 3rd day (kasi may free breakfast pa next day kaya susulit muna kami dun hehe). I ordered na rin birthday cake, pero dahil 3 lang kami slice na lang ang inorder ko Nung bumalik kami sa room namin aba, surprise! may cake towel si hubby with a birthday card from Mickey! hehe

That's for our day 1.

Next post ko day 2 naman. hintay lang ako may magpost kasi baka mawarningan na naman ako for consecutive posts. hehe

^wow aliw pala talaga ang kingdom club lounge sis. Kelangan pag ipunan namin for next time. 3 nights kasi kami eh ang mahal na sobra pag for 3 nights sa kingdom club. Hehe.  sis hindi ba super kakapagod yung palipat lipat from airport express, tung chung, sunny bay then may shuttle pa to the hotel? May luggages pa kasi eh kaya isip ko baka taxi nalang kami.

^sis di naman kami nahirapan sa byahe from airport to Disney Hotel kasi dala namin yung stroller ng anak ko tapos isang malaking luggage lang ang gamit namin. Yung mga hand carry baggage namin nilagay na lang sa carrier ng stroller.

^wow nagkasya sa 1 luggage mga gamit niyo ang galing mo sis!  sis pag may time ka paki tuloy kuwento ko kakaexcite eh sasama ko rin kasi 3 yr old daughter ko dun next yr. Thanks

I always take the cab from the airport to whichever Disneyland resort hotel we're staying at since it's more convenient. I hate doing too many transfers. I also brought a stroller with me. It only costs HKD120 per way anyway.

Medyo nanghinayang din ako sa birthday cake cos I ordered a whole one again (fresh fruit cream before, now I got the American cheesecake), but we got back from the park late na cos we stayed for the extended Halloween event. The kids were sooo tired to sing for their sister and when we woke up the next day, we had to throw away the entire thing. My daughter just ate one slice. So much for HKD200. Down the trash can.

If you or your kids or companions aren't too fond of congee or open faced sandwiches, they won't enjoy the breakfast at the Kingdom Club lounge. If you want a full breakfast, I would suggest for you to stick to the Enchanted Garden buffet. The lounge serves food like most other executive lounges in other hotels.


My opinion on Coach, I still don't have the heart to buy anything of this brand in HKG even with their so-called "sale" prices cos I always buy at the US stores during my annual summer trip. Super big price difference. I wince at reading the tags when knowing I can get more variety for a lower price. Well, just my thoughts. Also, the coupon that they give out upon entering the store, they do that most times in all their outlets. Makes a huge difference.

Sis malaking luggage. hahaha ang mahirap nun yung pauwi kami kasi yung mga nabili naming mga gamit as in siksikan lahat, inextend ko na yung capacity ng luggage plus malalaking paper bags. 

Day 2
Disneyland ang araw na to. free breakfast, hah... free na maraming breakfast.  Ang cute kasi pag nakita nila na may kakain na kids binibigyan na agad ng plates, cup and spoon and fork na pambata. Ang sarap ng mga pagkain talaga, masama diko kasi tinatandaan yung mga pangalan dahil di naman sila usual. hehe Mahilig din kasi ako sa tinapay kaya sobrang naenjoy ko talaga ang mga pagkain sa KC Lounge. After breakfast picture picture ulit sa garden with daylight view naman. Dito na din kami nagdecide na mag 2-day park tickets so upgrade na lang kami ng tickets bago pumasok sa park. Di na namin pinakialalaman ang mga princess na darating sa lobby ng hotel. Checkout kami then yung luggages namin pinadeliver na lang sa park. Pag dineliver ng after 3PM free na sya. Since park lang naman kami gang fireworks so okey na samin. Pickup na lang sa Valet baggage area sa left side pag papasok sa gate mismo ng park at right side syempre pag palabas.  Sa loob na kami ng park naglunch. Since may ubo kami pareho ng anak ko, hindi kami naka pag Mickey ice cream.  May baon pala kami tubig na pwede naman i-refill sa mga fountains. Ang importante lang samin yung tubig ng anak ko yung hindi refilled. Mahirap na, at least mas matibay sikmura namin ni hubby.  Since Monday kami nag disney wala masyadong pila, so yung free fast pass (courtesy of KC Room) namin ng Festival of the Lion King or Golden Mickeys parang wala lang. hehe Chill chill lang ang araw, wala kaming ka rush rush talaga para hindi mastress lalo na may kasama kaming bata. Mainit pero di sing init dito sa Manila. Lion King, Golden Mickeys, Carousel, Tram, Dumbo at pictures with the characters lang ginawa namin for the day. As usual starstrucked ang anak ko pero natutuwa sa kanya mga characters kasi before kami nagpipicture ine-embrace nya sila as in parang antagal nila magkakakilala. hahaha naglalambingan pa sila bago picture. Ang cute ng pisngi ni Pooh! Ang sarap maging bata sa Disneyland, gusto ko bumalik dito kasi saya saya ng aura.  Di muna kami namili ng souvenirs since may 2nd day pa kami. After ng fireworks kinuha na namin ang luggages, MTR to Golden Crown.

Tip sa mga sis nating mag stay ng GC na may dalang luggages at sasakay ng MTR, take EXIT R through this exit lang kayo makaka escalator. No other lifts eh mataas pa yung hagdan so dito na lang kayo sa exit R. Lalabas na kayo ng iSquare Mall nito, paglabas kita mo yung bossini and Giordano, kaliwa kayo, then kaliwa ulit Nathan Road na yun. makikita nyo yung Standard Chartered Bank tawid na kayo katabi na yung entrance to GC. Malapit lang din naman yung exit R.

I'll be in Hong Kong this December yipee! Kaya lang I'm torn if I will go back to Disney kasi hindi ko pa nakikita yung toy story land eh! umiiral na naman pagka-disney baby ko

^sis pink baby, go na sis! Di ko pagsasawaan ang hk disneyland kahit ilang ulit pa and kahit maliit lang siya compared to disneyland in anaheim.  Sarap maging bata ulit.

correct ka sis! mag iipon talaga ako para makabalik ng HK at KC room ulit gusto ko. 

Day 3
Breakfast at Enchanted Garden. sarap din ng foods dito, and of course wala ng kapantay ang saya na makita ko yung anak kong sobrang nag eenjoy with the Disney characters. Syempre kami din ni hubby. hehe Bago kami lumabas ng resto tinanong ko yung waitress if we can take an apple with us sabi nya okey lang daw so kumuha kami ng 2 apples, 2 oranges and 1 pear. Lol umiral ang pagkaprobinsyana ko. haha After breakfast tumambay lang kami sa lobby at swerte habang nagpapahinga kami dun dumating si Cinderella. Napabili tuloy ako ng Disney Princess notebook sa shop at nagpa autograph ako para sa niece ko.  Syempre picture picture na din with Cinderella. After which, nagpunta na kami ng Ngongpin. Took the Crystal Cabin. Ang ganda ng view at ang lamig ng hangin. Buti na lang pwede din isakay ang stroller sa cable car. Diretso Big Buddha, pero di na kami umakyat. pagbalik Citygate namili ng mga damit tapos diretso ng The Peak. 6PM na kami naka akyat ang ganda at ang lamig! hehe Madamme Tussauds, sayang kasi wala nun si Lady ga**, David Beckham, Einstein etc etc. Sa notice wala naman nakalaga kung kelan sila ibabalik. 

Day 4
2nd day sa Disneyland and more shopping na sa Citygate uli. Pagbalik ng TST konting lakad at bili na din ulit.

Day 5
Travel date to Manila na kami. We took the airport express HkD160 for 2 then refund yung remaining sa Octupus Card then checked in.

ah ganun pala. meron rin ba silang entrance lang i-aavail? kasama ko kasi parents ko e, di naman sila mahilig sa rides.

Sis baka 'di muna kami mag Disney Hotel kasi medyo hectic yong sched dahil 3 days lang kami. From Airport  Disney na agad kami tapos 2nd day Ocean Park (whole day) 3rd day Ngongping & Citygate. Pag nag stay pa kami don baka di rin namin masyado ma enjoy kasi most of the time nasa labas lang kami. Hopefully pagbalik namin mas matagal kami don

Sis examiner30, what time niyo nachempuhan si cinderella sa lobby ng disneyland hotel? Napapaisip tuloy ako kung breakfast or dinner buffet ang iaavail namin sa enchanted garden. Pag dinner kasi baka walang mga disney princesses sa lobby eh yun pa naman favorite ng daughter ko. Inggit ako sa kingdom club room. 3 nights kasi kami eh kaya super mahal pag mag kingdom club kami. Hehe.  Thanks sis.

I chanced upon Snow White at the Disneyland Hotel during one of our previous stays, while checking out. What I loved about staying at the Kingdom Club is the speedy and exclusive check in at the lounge. It was chilly when we were there (it was an April visit) so it was nice hanging out on the balcony and looking out onto the maze. We especially loved it when my family was "awarded" Star Guests of the Day. They took our family photo and gave us pins, stickers and at the end of checking in, they presented to us our photo, in a Star Guests of the Day frame. So, everywhere we went in the park, everyone greeted us and gave stickers and pins all the time. My kids even got a Disneyland certificate each for getting on the theme park train.

When we were there two weeks ago, my kids were showered with tons of stickers again, cos my daughter had on her Disney birthday pins.

@princess lorraine-If you're unsure of when to visit Enchanted Garden, aside from the usual breakfast buffet with characters, they currently have a dinner with Disney characters (buffet, too) from Sundays-Thursdays till Dec6. Check their dining offers page for a HKD50 discount per adult coupon:

^thanks for the info sis. But the promo is only up to december 2012. Our hk trip will be in march 2013 pa. They don't have new promos yet. Maybe i would just have to wait to get discount coupons. I'm just so excited to plan this whole trip because it will be my daughter's first time to travel. I want it to be extra special. Thanks so much sis.
