Yup sis mukhang ok sa Oakwood Ortigas.may kitchenette pa lahat ng rooms.noted na nga sa akin ito.pag approved kay financier yung roomrates pwede dito rin kami.kuripot kasi asawa ko kaya kaka asar.

Tell him to go all out if it's a special occasion naman It's really nice there. Believe me, once you're inside the rooms, you'd never want to leave. So much space and many fine things in sight. Everytime I stay over, I really have to drag my body out of the fine bed in the morning to make it in time for the breakfast buffet.

Kami rin, we're on a budget, kaya kahit anong pagconvince ko, ayaw sa sofitel, plus malayo daw. LOL, sayang! i think we're going to avail of one of the ortigas hotels na lang. Still trying to figure out which. Choices so far are Linden and Holiday Inn. Kinakabahan na nga ako, baka maubusan na ng room kaka-pili.

3 years na namin ginagawa ang mag hotel pag christmas... simula nung nanganak ako... hirap kasi mag prepare ng food tapos may inaalagaang bata. Enjoy din naman kaming family pag sa hotel. Our first year (2010) was in Legend Hotel - dito pinaka nagustuhan ko ang food, filipino kasi at madaming choices. Second year (2011) - hotel H2O, eto naman for me ang pinaka malambota ng bed. Ok din ang food. Last year naman (2012) sa Bayleaf kami sa intramuros, ok naman din dito kasi bago at maayos din. BUffet is quite limited sa choices pero masasarap din naman ang food. Ang maganda dito maraming pwedeng pasyalan na malapit. Lakad lakad ka lang. Saan naman kaya kami this year? :-)

^hi sis melmedrano, i just have a question, when you stayed at the legend hotel did you bring your kids? nacurious kasi ako sa post mo so i googled it, nakalagay children below 3 years old are not allowed. grabe naman, is that true?

^ yes sis, kasama namin yung son ko noon which is 7 months old nung nag Christmas kami sa Legend Hotel nung 2010. Ang weird naman kung ipagbabawal na nila ang kids below 3 years old... bat kaya nila naisip yun?

Mga sis pa suggest naman nang hotel na not to pricey na walking distance lang sa trinoma. Yung aunt ko kasi mag aattend nang seminar in diliman area pero gusto nya mag stay sa place na walking distance lang sa trinoma.

^hi sis, please define "not too pricey", kasi people can have different price tolerance for what is pricey and what is not. i used to stay overnight sa area ng SM North-Trinoma. Eurotel is affordable and their Standard Queen has a good value for your money, i think it's 2K/night now.

very convenient siya papuntang SM North. yun nga lang, ang gusto ng tita mo is walking distance to Trinoma. well malapit lang naman ang Trinoma, pero syempre mas malayo kung ico-compare mo sa SM North. sis, maganda na naman ang SM North eh, may The Block na rin, so yun na lang ang puntahan niya instead of Trinoma, mas malapit sa Eurotel.


(MOD: baka we can revise the subject of this thread to "Hotels in Metro Manila", para mas malawak ang coverage, kasi yung mga previous discussions here covered the entire Metro na rin. just a thought )

Thank you sis  Not too pricey for her means that she will spend less than 2k per night. May kasama naman sya so pwedeng hati sila. I'll recommend eurotel to her anyway SM North and Trinoma are too near each other palipat lipat pa nga ako minsan pag nandun ako. Sabihan ko na lang sya na kung tinatamad sya maglakad SM North na lang gusto nya lang naman may malapit na mall.

Oo nga sis I agree na palitan ang subject to "Hotels in Metro Manila".

Sis, pa suggest naman ng hotels sa Manila.  I am booking kasi for my aunt who is coming from the US.  I am choosing between Holiday Inn Makati or Holiday Inn Ortigas.  Makati is more expensive by P3500/night.  Worth it ba? 

I am thinking kasi mas convenient ang Makati and "parang" mas safe kesa Ortigas.  Tapos she will be here sa weekend pa ng May 1, so ang worry ko baka magka rally, baka lalong mahirapan sya sa Ortigas.  She just wants to look around the malls.  Parang mas maganda rin kasi sa Makati. 

Any advise?  May rally ba na nagaganap tuwing May 1 sa Ortigas Edsa?

Another worry is the construction din pala ng roads na gagawin for the highway na magc-connect ng south superhighway with north expressway. Which one kaya ang i-book ko?

kung type nya mag mall... go for holiday inn makati. katabi nya glorietta 1 na ata yun, basta glorietta, kasunod lang na pinto di sya papawisan promise. Malapit sa SM, syempre connect na rin sa landmark at greenbelt so no hassle talaga mag mall kung andun ka.

I had loads of foreigner guests for my wedding and they all stayed in Makati area - sa likod ng Greenbelt. Mas convenient sa kanila ang they enjoyed going to the malls.   Madali din food options so I didn't have to worry about them. They love Greenbelt.

We looked at Ortigas too because may cheaper alternatives but at the end Makati won.

I've been to different great hotels --> Sofitel, Maxims, Heritage, Midas, Traders, Century, Edsa Shang, Solaire, Manila Hotel, Peninsula, Diamond 

mga okay lang like Manila Pavillion, Imperial Palace, Rembrandt, Great Eastern.. Pinakafavorite ko talaga is Sofitel kasi love their pool, parang nasa boracay lang ako which is my happy place [dami ko na pala napuntahan!]

For the longest time lagi ko pnlano na magspend ng christmas or new year sa hotel, pero dapat talaga this year matuloy na.. My options are Sofitel, Maxims, Solaire or Marriott..

I spent my bday last year sa Sofitel mainly bcoz of the pool hehe So i'm considering to spend my bday there again this year (next month yey) Or maybe Maxims, was just there last week, love their pool!! Glass pool and the ambience, oh so nice also.. Ganda din sa Solaire! Buti may discount kami doon hehe

Strict ba ang Sofitel sa # of people na matulog sa rooms nila? 4 adults kami.

^this weekend. via email lang kami nag-usap ng reservations and mabilis naman silang sumagot sa inquiries ko. they usually respond within the day. i haven't tried contacting them via phone or facebook.
