Sis, paano mo ipinang spot treatment retin a? With cotton? Ilang % yan? Thanks.

Just apply directly to the affected area.. It's 0.05%.

^^tretinoin converst to retinoic acid when applied to the skin, so more or less same lang siya.

tagal ko na hindi nakavisit dito ah.
im still using 0.5% tret ointment by derm-A ... more than a year na din pala since i started using it regularly. sometimes i put moisturizer after (celeteque) or minsan naman i use toner before using tret (celeteque also). i use neutrogena sunblock spf-50 before i leave the house, kaya lang sometimes i dont esp if i dont think na "maaarawan" ako.  bad, i know! i read somewhere that even fluorescent light can even do some damage to tret users. totoo ba ito?

overall, i have this impression na "nakakanipis" nga siya ng skin sa face. i hardly get whiteheads/blackheads na.

yun lang, recently, medyo napansin ko na mas mapula pala yung face ko compared to the skin on my chest/rest of my body.  paan ba, parang pink yung face ko then yung neck/chest area yellowish-morena na ang color ko. is this because of tret?

Fluorescent lights and artificial light sources in general tend to give off UV rays, after all, radiation is the source of artificial light. But the wavelengths are very minimal. It's always a good idea to use sun screen as a preventative measure, lalo na sa local climate natin, and when you're using tret, aha or any other exfoliant.

Yung redness, pinkish skin is often an initial reaction when using tret in the first 3 to 6 months. If you're still encountering redness, you might want to consider scaling down on your application. Consider 3x/week instead of everyday, the effects won't subside, but you'll be making your routine less aggressive and kinder to your skin in general.

The effects of tret will last you so long as you're using it with not more than 3 days interval. If it's not doing anything for you, it doesn't mean it's not working, it only means it's not enough. A lot of people tend to have very high expectations from a single product, but more often than not, we have very specific issues that need to be addressed on a person to person basis. So if you're self-prescribing tret with no dermatological guidance, you will have to work out a routine that works best for you, at your own risk. It's Always a good idea to start on tret with professional supervision so at least you know what you're working with.

what will be the best cleanser kasabay ng tret? yung may aha sana. gamit ko kase neostrata masyadong mahirap hanapin hehe..

Jonah andito ka ba? haha
It depends your skin's ability to tolerate tretinoin. Since I'm oily, I used to use salicylic acid cleanser with tret. But lately, I'm more concerned with keeping as much moisture as possible in my skin so I stick with cream cleansers like those from vmv or cleansers like physiogel and celeteque.

I tend to use bhas or ahas in topicals rather than in facial washes. As an alternate to tret.

Hi mga sis, im tempted to try this cream. What's the best brand ba?? I backread naman. Kaso nalilito pa din ako. Would you mind posting the prices na rin. Kase the first pages of this thread 2012 pa. Baka not updated na yung nababasa ko.

And my problem kase parang i have tiny
Bumps eh. Kahit magpafacial ako hindi natatangal kasi wala naman laman. Baka this could work.

What ill do kasi ill start it slow. Could be .1 lang na thrice a week. Without anything. Pano ko ba malalaman when there's a need to combine it with AHA??

I hope sisses could help me.

^there are several brands available in local drugstores, you can ask your pharmacist about your options or check the mercury or mims website for "tretinoin", I think they post prices there as well. As for the best, kanya-kanyang hiyangan. Walang single formula that makes tret work for everyone. It also goes without saying that tret does not work for everyone, so if you're self-medicating without professional supervision, be wary of the side-effects prior to starting. You will find many info on this on medical journals available online. It is a prescription drug for a reason. The reason I reiterate this is that the irritation induced by tret is often much harder to reverse than the original skin care concern prior to tret.

0.1% is not starting slow, if you're new to treat consider 0.025% or even level 1 of maxi peel.

Use of AHA has been discussed several times in this thread na din, if you've back read, you'll digest that basically you use it to enhance tretinoin's effects on the skin. Use only as needed as this combo can cause severe irritation on those with sensitive skins.

3yrs ago gumamit ako ng tret for six months, maaliwalas sya sa face kaya lang mas naging oily ako so i switch to adapalene para pagcontrol ng pimples. mas hiyang ako sa adapalene kesa sa tret...

Nabasa ko somewhere hindi daw kasi they have ingredients that might cancel each other out. Mas maganda to use alternately, that's what I do.

i started tret also DERM A 0.01% and i combine it with DERM A soap for oily skin. i haven't YET experienced any negative side effect like break outs.. as for positive effect, it does bring a different glow in the morning. i plan to use 0.025% after i'm done with this first bottle.

Not true. Benzoyl peroxide and tretinoin cancel each other out. Glycolic or AHA can be used together but only if your skin can tolerate it. But depending on the formulation whether the glycolic can enhance AHA's penetration.
