started tret a week ago. Nagalit hubby ko kasi he wants me to detox for a year before we have a baby. But I super love tret.

What's a good alternative? Will use tret for 6 months tapos stop na ako ulit.

^^Parehong vitamin a but in terms of efficiency, tretinoin most effectively converts to retinoic acid upon application to the skin. Retinaldehyde following a close second. Retinol is supposedly milder, and very minimal ang effect sa skin. Although, I think effectivity is dependent upon concentration and kung ano ang hiyang sa skin mo. My derma uses Retinol Cream only but the formulation is 6%, I find na it doesn't give me the usual bumps that I get from tret use, but it's still effective in skin rejuvination.

There are other alternatives din like Adapalene (Differin) and Tazarotene (Tazorac, Avage -  both US only), which are synthetic retinoids. They're meant to be as effective but less irritating than Tretinoin, studies show na its effective for acne treatment, but very little studies pa ang available about it also being good for anti-aging.

i'm using .1% tret in gel form from my derma and i'm planning to switch to branded/otc ones. i think it's cheaper and more hygienic as it is in tube packaging oppose to the plastic tubs that most of the derma sells. but i back read and found out that all of the locally available trets are in cream form. until now ba, wala pa rin available na gel form tret dito satin?

p.s. at least i'm confident to know na hindi nag rerepack ng products ang derma ko knowing na walang available na gel form tret dito satin.  ;D i read other comments here, they found out na repack lang yung binibili nila sa derma nila. how sad naman yun..

^differin gel lang ang gel formulated retinoid na locally available, pero parang wala lang siya compared to a .1% tret gel. Mas ok nga sana kung may locally available gel formulation, mas maganda absorption niya for oilier skin types.

Thanks sa Answer sis Wickedwitch. ;)

About Differin, may kakilala din ako na todo magrashes using it, sobrang sensitive ng skin niya. Pwede din kasi na nag-iiba ang skin natin, ang mga dating hiyang, hindi na natotolerate at sa iba naman reverse, yung mga nakaka-cause ng reaction before pwede na. Stick na lang with what works for you for now. Maganda naman ingredients ng Neostrata, I used their AHA solution before, binigay ng derm ko to apply before tret to enhance pentration.

@innocent_beauty thanks sis,  that will help me a lot... Will take note of the brands of your sunblock. :)

@littlekinselle pasensya na sis... Dapat pala ang tanong ko is "sa mga sis natin na gunagamit ng trets ano ginagamit nyong sunblock?" I really want to hear from mga sis natin sunblock nila, para magaya hehe! As I back read kasi usually level of spf lang napapag-usapan not the brands.. Thanks for reminding din sis :)

^pwede naman if your skin can tolerate it. Most material that comes with OTC trets warns against using both at the same time kasi may added irritation. Like AHA, BHA/SA can enhance the tret's effectivity as it allows for better penetration.

@ sis beautifool! no prob..  newbie ka pa naman  it's a must mag sunblock pag nagtre-tret ka kasi magiging sensitive skin mo and para din mag dark then ninipis pa balat mo pag di ka gumagamit ng sunblock.;) back to d topic then.. my update okay yung effect ng retinol cream, I'm planning to combine it with AHA or hydroquinone, pero dun lang sa mismo sa dark spots..

^depende sa laser treatment na gagawin. Usually most derms would advise for you to stop 3 days to 1 week muna. Ask your derm to be sure, depende din kasi sa complete regimen na gamit mo.

Hi! Can I join?

I've just finished my first tube of Retin-A 500 mg tube OTC from Johnson&Johnson. I didn't experience any peeling whatsoever. Is that okay? I' 36, I don't have any problems with my skin, actually i just want to use it as my maintenance. I'm not really sure if it's working though. Am i supposed to see any visible peeling? I don't use it alone though because i layer it with my other skin care products.

Btw, any feedbacks on Obagi Tretinoin Cream?
