agree with old airport road hawker ctr. dinayo namin yan one time and no regrets na pinuntahan namin cya, i like the beancurd doon tsaka wanton noodles. tampines round market ok rin. masarap yung wanton noodles tsaka yung kolo mee na tinatawag nila (noodles with spare ribs). the traditional chinese desserts are also nice.

DV, for roti, sa upper thomson yung masasarap. go to roti prata house if your daughter loves cheese prata. they have this  cheese bomb which is my fave, the crust is outside then gooey and very cheesy inside super makasalanan nga lang but worth all the calories casuarina is also okay (sa upper thomson rin but they have an outlet sa ang mo kio hub food court), their plain prata good. at masarap ang curry dip nila! they will make you choose between chicken and fish, meron rin sila mutton so if you like eating mutton this is another option for your dip.

sa curry naman, are you looking for indian curry ba? okay butter chicken (chicken cooked in creamy curry) sa lagnaa (upper dickson road i think, this is in little india.), sa singapore expo there's an indian resto there (indian curry house ata name, isa lang ang indian resto there you won't miss it), masarap rin butter chicken nya and palak paneer (spinach with feta cheese), yung bread tho ang hit or miss. prata wala's butter chicken is not bad rin. they now have a branch at takashimaya foodcourt

minsan CC ko gamit ng family ko to book. i just send them a scanned copy of my cc. printout/photocopy na lang ng CC ko pinapakita nila.

naku sis salamat. next week na alis ko, buti na lang nagtanong ako dito. kinabahan tuloy ako. dati kasi hindi nila hinahanap eh.

I love tiong bahru market.  I practically eat here everyday kasi Walking distance to from my place. 

waaaahhhh!! i was just in SG last April and i researched the best hawker centers kasi nga i wanted to foodtrip. ang mga isinama ko sa foodtrip itinerary: Albert Center, Maxwell Food Center, Makansutra, Newton Food Center, and Lau Pa Sat.

kaso dahil madali mapagod ang parents ko, hindi na nasunod ang itinerary. so ang na-try lang namin ay Albert Center and Maxwell Food Center. we loved Albert Center (we loved the oyster omelette and the prawn noodles), pero di ako masyado nag-enjoy sa Maxwell (baka lang di namin natyempuhan yung ok na stalls...).

i really didn't hear much about Tiong Bahru. sayang di namin na-try.

sis xtine, since you're from SG, for you alin ang best hawker centers? para when we go back to SG.

For me, given na ang Tiong Bahru Market because I have favorite stalls here (suki na ako pati mga thai colleagues ko). 

Just to share.  Because of the question yesterday, napakain tuloy ako sa Tiong Bahru market yesterday and here's my meal.

Try din Old Airport Road.  Honestly, I have not been in this place pero mukhang marami ang nagsasabi na msarap mag food trip dito.

Pero eto ang mga staple food trippings ng mga kaibigan ko dito:

1.  Gindaco Takoyaki - the best takoyaki for me than Wow tako.  You can find them in Ion.  Theirs is medyo fried kaya crunchy on the outside then sobrang init and soft sa loob.  Iba rin ang sahog nila.  There was a time, every week kami dito.  Their yakisoba is also good.

2.    Raffle's place food court - Best dessert stalls.  There's Dimsum, cupcakes, there's also Thai Express (try their soft shell crab curry).  For me, its the best food trip place for junk foods kasi lahat ng desserts nandito. 

3.  Zion Road food center - One of the best hawker centers here in SG.  Don't forget to try the hainanese boneless rice.  IT IS better than hainanese chicken rice kasi iba ang sarsa nya.  Marami ring kachang desserts dito.

Look for Tong Fatt boneless chicken rice.  SGD 2.50 per plate of rice, boneless chicken and soup.

^^^^you can buy ez link sa mrt na mismo. if im not mistaken parang nakita ko na naka post lately sa stations na parang they lowered the rate for single journey tickets (iba pa to sa ez lnk kasi ez link is stored value card nila). ok kumuha ng ez link or singapore tourist pass card IF you're going to commute by bus/mrt most of the time. if mapapa taxi lang rin kayo like if may mga malalayo kayong iterinary (singapore zoo, bird park, science centre) i won't recommend getting ez link/singapore tourist pass card kasi d rin masyado magagamit, not unless ok lang and you want the cards as a souvenir na rin

Thanks, Grayce (kagutom naman yung cheesy roti!) and xtine for the food recommendations! Salamat din sa tip on the tourist pass; ito na lang ang bibilhin namin instead of the EZ Link sa dami ng kainan na pupuntahan namin. Hahaha!

meimei, last punta namin sa Singapore hinanap talaga namin yung Maxwell Center for Tian Tian hainanese chicken (as recommended by NY Times). This was before Anthony Bourdain went there. Siguro mas mahaba na ang pila ngayon pero definitely babalikan namin 'yan because my husband wants to go to Singapore definitely for their chicken (xtine, subukan rin namin yung boneless).

Kailangan mag-print na ako ng Singapore map, like Agoda's, pero instead na hotels ang naka-mark, restaurants and hawker centers.

my family enjoyed their SG trip. though inulan on their secon day kaya nasira itinerary nila.. so may binawas na isa.. Monday sila sa USS so di gano matao. yung mastercard promo ang nakuha for USS + Maritime worth sgd60 lang. kaso panget daw maritime.. hehe..not their type lang siguro.. sa Singapore Zoo, merong water playground, nag-enjoy yung 2 bagets, kaya napabili pa sila ng pangswimming kasi wala naman silang dala.. sgd17 each pang-swimming.. mahal ha! they rode the elephant.. pinaka-nagenjoy yung mga bata, mga adults hindi kaso since enjoy mga bata, kailangan nilang samahan at antaying magsawa. sa night safari naman baligtad, mga adults nag-enjoy mga bata hindi! 

dami rin daw nilang nabiling pasalubong and souvenirs sa chinatown. nasubukan ang tawad skills ni mudra here. pero yung i-love-sg na tshirt di sila bumili dahil 4 for sgd10 nga kaso parang basahan daw tela..sobrang nipis. so they bought sa giordano instead, kasi sila ang gagamit din eh..

mahirap talaga may kasamang 2-years old. kasi ayaw nun sasakay sa stroller, pero pagdating dun kinailangan nilang mag-rent sa zoo at uss ng car type stroller kasi nga pakarga na daw si bagets at napapagod na..

^^challenge talaga magtravel ng may bagets on tow specially pag toddler, lalo na pag erratic ang weather  nakita nila yung pandas when they went to the zoo? may additional $5 lang to see the pandas pero sabi ng cousin ko 15mins max lang daw pwede magstay sa panda area.

re: chinatown, manipis talaga yung mga i love sg shirts nila dun. mostly ang ok bilhin sa chinatown is mga trinkets i.e. keychains, magnets, marble stamps, but dapat busisiin ang quality of course before buying. aside from the souvenirs ok rin mag food trip sa people's park then go to mei heong desserts for traditional chinese desserts and yung mga shaved ice nila (they have a branch at ion orchard pero hindi lahat ng dessert meron)
