^ waah, late bloomer ako. hindi ko alam na pwede sila magship out of US. sorry old information na pala yun. pero dito sa dubai, di talaga pwede direcho. i ordered na din pero sa 30 pa nga ang release and padeliver ko nalang sa brother ko. sis, diba you ordered din? direcho pinas na yung sayo? how much inabot shipping? and, last question, hindi pa kasi ako nakakaltasan sa cc ng amount ng kindle, kala ko once nag pre-order, ibabawas na kagad pero till now di pa ko nababawasan. yung bang orders ko lang ang nakaltas sakin pero si kindle di pa.

^Alam ko babawasan nila yan once ma-shipped out na. May binili din kasi ako thru Amazon na napa-cancel ko since di pa nila nashi-ship at di rin nila ako chinarge sa CC.

Di ako directly bumili sis. Mas mapapamahal kasi at ayoko siya ipadaan thru Customs. May reseller dito na mas makakamura ako than if I directly purchase it sa Amazon.

hi girls. im planning na to upgrade my kindle. but this time Kobo Glo na talaga bibilin ko since available na sya sa National Bookstore. very convenient

hello, all.

ive been thinking of getting an ebook reader, almost sold on the nook until i saw the samsung note 8. it a plus for me that i could do more on the samsung note, than just an ebook reader and it has a reading mode that wont hurt our eyes.
any thoughts?

^ If you're looking for something multipurpose then your choice is fine. That is if you're willing to recharge the battery often

You may weigh the pros and cons of owning a tablet and a reader vs. just a tablet. Me, I own an iPad Mini and a Kobo Glo.

Upsides with owning a reader instead of a tablet (imo):
-- Feels like you are reading from an actual book (minus the bulk).
-- No eyestrains from glares or backlights.
-- I guess twice/thrice a month charging time (based on my around 2-4 hours a day reading). My Kobo Glo is rather new and I have fully charged my battery only once I think since the time I owned it.

Downsides:
-- You have to switch devices if you want to check something on a tablet.
-- If you prefer PDF/comic files, I think this is best read in a tablet than a reader (Personally, I prefer epub files).
-- The page refreshes can get pretty annoying at first, but this just takes some getting used to.

Other considerations include whether or not you are going to read outdoors, then a reader will best suit this.

We have different uses for different devices. Bottom line is to weigh the pros and cons. My take on this, if you are really an avid reader, I suggest investing in a separate device. If you are the type of person who just reads occasionally, then you can get away with just a tablet. But then, this is just me.

I own a Nook (1st gen), Kindle 4, iPad 2 and iPhone. Pinaka-gamit ko dyan sa pagbabasa Kindle. I never leave my house without my Kindle. Pag sa phone kasi mabilis maubos battery. Pag sa iPad, mabigat dalhin. Retired na Nook ko kasi mabigat siya than my Kindle.

Kobo ang app na gamit ko sa itouch and ipad for reading..
It's a good thing they came up with Kobo Glo.

I do love my Kobo Glo a lot. Though here are some of my peeves (at first):

Page number is like in ‘simplest form’. Haha. I don’t see the actual number of pages left, but something like a ‘lowest term’. For instance I am currently 100 of 500 pages far in a book, Kobo Glo will display it as 50 of 250. This takes some getting used to though since I used to read in an iPad Mini (iBooks). After a while, I am perfectly okay na with it.

Another is the ‘Shelves’ feature. Again, I came from iBooks kaya nakakapanibago. In iBooks kasi, once you have already moved a book into a certain collection, the book is removed na from the main Books collection. In Kobo Glo, even if you have already added a book in a shelf, the book still appears sa main Books.

If books are sideloaded into the Glo, line spacing and margins sometimes do not adjust (but fonts and font sizes do).

Sa una nakakapanibago lang. Halos katabi ko na nga matulog yun Glo ko. I even buy books na from Amazon just to sideload to my Glo (if wala ako mahanap na free copies).
