you have to go to your amazon account, and go to Manage Your Devices. Then you unsubscribe from the Special Offers. i'm not sure though if the fee is $15 or $20. haven't bothered unsubscribing since the ads do not bother me anyway.

i had a kindle touch before getting the paperwhite. for me, sulit talaga. before, i always had a clip on light in my bag, when i need to read in places that aren't well lit. i didn't like the kindle cases kasi with built-in light. now i just adjust the light of the paperwhite depending on where i am. ever since the nook came out with glowlight i was really waiting for a kindle one with light, so you can tell i love my paperwhite.

the latest kindle (5) is sold at 4.3k in ebay from a reputable seller. or you can buy directly from amazon.

Ang boring ko. I bought a skin that's exactly the same as the one on my kindle touch before. i'm so predictable. I'm planning on taking my paperwhite out of the amazon leather cover muna kasi.

^nope, kindle 5 is the kindle that came out 2012. Parang versioning lang siya ng kindle. There are 4 types of kindle: kindle keyboard, kindle, paperwhite & fire. The dofferences are in the amazon website.

I've been using my Nook for the past few years na and thinking to upgrading.... to kindle.... Is it worth the switch of brand or just stick to Nook pa din?

How bout Kobo Glo? Any reviews?

si kobo glow looks promising naman and ok siya if you have a lot of books to sideload pero to buy from their store medyo nakakasad with all thats available on Amazon and BN.  Plus it's pricier than the paperwhite or nook glowlight. Amazon has a lot of free new titles compared to BN and I agree with the one who said na it's easier to order books kay amazon one click lang. Nakaka-tempt din yung 3g nila actually i was eyeing that for a time pero too pricey na you can get a google nexus for the price.

I got my nook glowlight na rin wala pang a month si Kobo mini. It's too mini for my hands and wala eversince i got it sinisilip ko si glowlight and paperwhite so went and purchased it. The buttons can be a bit hard to push pero later nagiging madali na rin sya pindutin no problem when switching hands.  I also like the feel of it how comfortable it is to hold. the light naman isn't bluish para lang syang yung mga old nokia phones na may led light .   Plan ko is to root si nook so i can download the Kindle App easier ata to root the nook than the kindle.

Overall, whether you get a glowlight or the paperwhite, having a front lit ereader will spoil you rotten it makes reading in the dark such a luxury.

muahmuahmuah.....correct ka talaga dun sa comment about having a front lit thing.... I'm now using samsung tablet and hindi talaga ako tumatagal.  Masakit nga sa mata.  With my old reader.... Until sawa....

OT:  Barnes and Noble accept Philippine issued credit card and shipped to US address??? Uuwi kasi cousin ko next month and i'm planning to buy a new reader.... Super thanks to anyone na may idea with this.....

was just thinking, iba ba talaga ang feel kapag gamit ang kindle compared to ipad? d ba masakit sa mata? just curious.

@babyastig thanks. sulit rin talaga. i like na  magaang sila vs tablets and yung battery life di mo need isipin to charge everyday. re b&n you can try purchasing it online see if tatanggapin, if not ipa-abono mo nalang muna sa cousin mo.

@chiqmom you're referring to reading on the kindle na ereader (not the tablet)  vs reading on the ipad? if so, i think depende lang talaga sa sensitivity ng mata ng user. i have a friend she gets a migraine from reading too long on any lcd screen ako naman sanay naman ako sa lcd pero i read better sa ereader screen. minsan nakaka dooling yung screen din ng tablet pag nakatodo yung brightness and mas mahirap to read outdoors or in daylight using tablets, when i started reading on the nook glow i didn't know how refreshing it felt lalo at night before bed.
