We are always looking for a venue which we can hold our ceremony & reception (all-in-one place), for the comfort of our guests. And so far, we were able to do it 6 times.
Our 1st wedding was held at Fernwood Gardens. Fortunately for us, in 2009, they still allow A/C rentals for 33,000 php. Non-nego din kasi ang A/C for us.
PROS - The place is really gorgeous! Very professional, warm and abled staff (Chiara & Christy). They screen the accredited suppliers efficiently, therefore once they recommend a supplier to you, you are sure of their worth. Wide array of caterers to choose from. Their chapel is the best air-conditioned garden-inspired ceremony venue.
CONS - they have limited flower suppliers and you need to pay corkage fee for the chapel should you want a florist outside their list. And as well as mobile bars, photo booth etc.
ilustrado, Intramuros
PROS - affordable packages, AE easy to deal with, superb food during food-tasting, appropriate venue for our Filipino-Spanish 1800s renewal
CONS- we were frustrated with the food served during reception because majority simply was not delicious in comparison to the impeccably marvelous FT set they served before. It's a good thing we ordered 2 lechons from outside.
Oasis Garden and Pavilion
PROS - free ceremony venue at the garden, both the garden & the pavilion look vast and spacious because during that time there weren't additional building for venues yet. Spacious parking at the time of our wedding. Like Fernwood, they have a good number of accredited caterers to choose from.
CONS - for those after a jaw-dropping and grand venue entrance, this is clearly not for you. The disappointment with the entrance will fade because the beauty of what is found inside will compensate.
Tagaytay Highlands
PROS - Apple, our AE was very helpful and flexible. They didn't charge us with wedding fees as we don't need anymore documentations. We just paid for the chapel and A/C usage. Superb food. Picturesque scene and very cool weather. No additional charge if you bring your own stylist.
CONS - can't think of any. Hehe
CRIMSON HOTEL
PROS - no need for mood lighting (at least for us), their ceiling is already equipped with hi-tech light that changes colors. Very good food. They allowed us to use a portion of the Grand Ballroom for free for the ceremony.
CONS - they don't have bridal suites or big enough rooms. Since they were pretty new at the time of our wedding, their AE wasn't knowledgeable enough about the ins and outs of the wedding industry. Meaning, whenever we have a concern, she cannot give an immediate and direct answer. She would always consult others first before going back to us, with follow-ups from our part, thus taking much of our time.
HillCreek Gardens Tagaytay
PROS - HillCreek Gardens is a secret haven for wedding couples. The over-all feel, the ambience, and the perfect-looking Chapel and everything that surrounds it rivals that of Tagaytay Highlands (in a smaller and more intimate scale). Really really love the chapel which fortunately for us, only open its doors for renewal of vows. You'll just pay a small amount for non-accredited caterers (20,000 php).
CONS - they won't allow you to source out food. They will be the one to cater to your suppliers (though affordable).
