Oh my goodness!! Ang mahal. My son also goes to a private christian school in regional vic, just 90 min from melb, pero yung tuition hindi sing mahal nyan. Gosh, i might need to work several hours just to pay for tuition.

^my husband and I both work full time and we have a toddler.

I was on maternity leave for 10 months. My Mum stayed with us until our daughter turned 6 months old, then ako na lang naglook after her. She came back to Australia when I went back to work (10 months postpartum) so she can look after her while I'm away. I only worked 3 days a week during this time though so it wasn't that bad.

I went back to working full time hours when our daughter turned 19 months old. Pero I still had Fridays off kahit working full time hours.

You get childcare rebate and childcare benefit if eligible which, more or less, will cover half of the rate.

She's starting ELC soon (Early Learning Centre) and she's doing 2 whole days per week. Daily rate is a bit steep at $100-$150 but the CCB and CCR will certainly help us. I can't remember if it's CCB or CCR, but one of them is income tested so if you're on the higher range, you won't get much back. But every little thing helps right?

I'm also working full time and even though I wanted to have another child parang malabo na.  1 year nga maternity leave but what will happen after that, parang di ko kaya na nasa childcare.  My son is already 13 and I'm 35.  Sabi nila I still have 5 years to think about it.

^Depends on the company you work for. Pag permanent employee ka, usually included yun. In my case, 26 weeks paid leave. Allowed up to a year but up to you if you wanna use unpaid leave or annual leave for the other 26 weeks

If your company doesn't offer paid maternity leave, the government naman pays you once you give birth. Either "baby bonus" or "paid parental leave scheme" payment... depends kung san ka eligible. I fell under the latter.

^^mahirap talaga if you have no relatives to help look after your baby. But as soon as they're 2, there are good ELCs naman you can enrol them in for a couple of days a week. That's what we're doing. Monday and Wednesday sya papasok sa ELC and then TTH, she will be looked after by my mum, her paternal lola and great grandmother. Their house is right next door to ours so that was a big plus. Friday, I'm home so I help look after her.

When we have our 2nd child, same pa rin gagawin namin. And when he or she turns 2, we can buy a house in the suburb I like na. We just need to wait until bunso is in ELC kasi madali na yung care.
