She's 62 years old... ako kasi directly inemail ng immigration since I filled out the visa form myself para sigurado. So nilagay ko pwde rin ako kontakin if ever... baka kasi may ma-miss out ang mom ko, mapatagal pa processing ng di oras.

The email they sent me had this sa body:

1. evidence of health or travel insurance which will cover medical expenses for the full length of your proposed stay in Australia.

And then pag binuksan yun attached pdf file, tungkol lang dun sa required health exam... eto yung pasimula:

kumuha kami ng health insurance from BUPA, Standard Visitors Cover... we paid na in full yung 7 months nya na stay dito

^Thanks, sis oreo08. I asked my mum ulit.  Yung letter nia from VIA kinuha daw nung nagpa medical sia sa St. Lukes sa Ermita, Manila. Ang sabi naman daw sa kanya, wait daw after 10 days. Pero try ko na din magtingin ng health insurance.

Same here, wala pa rin result until now mag 1 month na.   Also right after we received the request for medical exam I replied to the email and sent them the required health insurance cover for my Mom pero 1 month lang yung paid then naka lagay naman sa letter na continuing. We didn't pay the health cover for the full length of her proposed stay kase di rin sure if 6 months lang sya or less than dito, sabi naman sa Australian Unity oks lang yun meron din daw sila ganung case dati.  Yun kaya ang nagpa delay? Pero bakit di man lang nila inform or email man lang di ba? Should I just wait?

^don't think so... ang sabi nila sakin yun pagrereview ng medical exam results ang matagal dahil may backlog sila worth 8 weeks AT LEAST.

So it's not the private health insurance... or at least I don't think it is. Why dont you reply to their email and ask for a follow up? They will be able to advise you kung nasaang point na ng processing nila yung application ng mom mo

^Thanks Sis, I will email them to follow up the status. Akala ko kase di oks na mag tanong ng ganun via email. Medyo nakahinga ko ng maluwag dun if hindi dahil sa insurance ang delay.

sis oreo08 & AussieMom, may I ask san kayo nag-eemail pag follow up kayo status? Mum ko kasi not really technie. Assist lang sya bro ko sa pinas sa pag-apply. Wala rdaw binigay sa kanya reference sa application nia eh, tawag lang daw sa VIA if me inquiries or follow up sya.

^^ok lang yun magemail to ask basta wag naman super kulit once ko lang sila tinanong so far... I don't know if I will email them pa. We'll see... kung after 3 weeks wala pa rin, siguro I will ask them again

^dun sa email na nareceive ko from them, wala I just hit "reply" from my inbox. Di ko sure kung group mailbox yun or didirecho yun email ko sa case officer or what... basta I hit reply and yun. Email address is immigration.manila_temporary@dfat.gov.au

I emailed them this afternoon, wait ko pa ng reply. Same here, I just replied to the email, siguro yan yung group mail nila kase yan din email address na gamit nila.  Sana mag reply sakin:)

Eto rin Sis yung customer enquiry centre nila sa pinas 1909 362 2779 ...pero valid lang sya within pinas, di pwede call from overseas.

Dati 1 week lang may approval na agad, bagal nila ngayon.

^ sis AussieMom, i think mabilis ang release ng busy pag walang kasamang medical, mabilis yan sa mga mag stay ng 3 mos or less, normally sa tourist.

Hindi na mabilis ang processing ng visitor visas ngayon

kung before 1 week, ngayon 1 month na. And that's for visitors na walang medical and 3 month stay lang ang nirerequest.

Dapat 1 month lang din yun mga may medicals KASO ayan nga, may backlogs silang nirereview. SO goodbye 1 month! Baka pagkapanganak ko dumating Mum ko dito tuloy. Pesteng visa yan

Mga Sis, got a reply just now from immi:

Our records indicate that the decision on your  mother's application was
finalised on 09 July 2013.  Please note that the decision was despatched
via courier.  In this regard, please allow ample time for courier delivery.
If you do not receive the  documents after 7 working days, please contact
the Call Centre to enquire for the status of the delivery of your
documents.

Walang sinabi sa email ano result so kabado pa. Also when my Mom submitted her application she indicated that she prefer to receive the result via courier. Sana approved, ano palagay nyo Sis? 3rd time na nya if ever.

^ sis oreo08, same tayo. baka nakapanganak na ko bago dumating mother ko. ang tanong is kung i-adjust kaya nila yung date ng expected visit nya supposedly dito? july 27 2013- july 26,2014 nilagay namin application.

sana kung ganun man, adjust nila date na sasakto pa din na 1 year (in case she will be granted visa, though I'm aware na it's still their discretion how long will she be allowed to stay)

sana lang talaga me chance pa umabot. (fingers crossed)

Here's hers
June 3 - applied through VIA
June 4 - received an email from immigration for additional requirements (medical exam and private health insurance)
June 6 - had medical exam done
June 11 - emailed immigration my Mum's proof of private health insurance
June 22 - I emailed immigration for an update
June 24 - advised by immigration "medical results of the applicant have been referred to the Health Operation Centre in Australia for review by a Medical officer of the Commonwealth last 13 June 2013.  Due to current backlogs with the Health Operations Centre deferred medicals are taking approximately 8 weeks or longer (from date of referral)  for a decision to be made."

Sis jenny and oreo here's the timeline:

May 29 - application submitted (VIA Manila)
June 5 - email received from immi about request for medical exam and private health insurance
June 6 - done with the medical exam
June 11 - emailed them the confirmation copy of private health insurance
July 11 - emailed the immi to follow up the status
July 13 - the immi replied to my email and advised that the decision was finalised on july 9 and sent the result to home address
Still waiting to receive the document/result

^No worries Sis. Sana dumating na rin sa Mom mo. Hindi pa rin ako kampante hangga't wala pa yung document na sinasabi nila, di rin tuloy ako agad makapagpa book ng flight. Ang tagal naman sa courier ganun ba talaga, sabi July 9 pa pinadala. I will ask my Mom to call the VIA tomorrow. Natapos na ang school break, akala ko pa naman di na mag childcare son ko pero di na rin umabot.

Oonga, bakit ang tagal naman ideliver kung july 9 palang pala eh may decision na sila? Kaloka!!

Sis oreo08 & AussieMom, halos sabay pala nag apply parents nio. Ako kasi If not mistaken, June 18 nagsubmit Mom ko eh, basta all I know is mag 1 month na this July 18. Inluding na din dun yng medical test nia. Ang ilang beses ko lang talaga confirm sa Mum ko is if me request ba sya ng health insurance, wala talaga. If in case kasi another cause of delay to pag ni-request sya na kumuha kaya nagtitingin na din ako. Eh ang kjaso hindi ko din alam gano katagal kukunin ko. 6 mod? tapos continue ko na lang like ginawa ni sis AussieMom?

Mejo naiinis na din ako kakatawag sa MUm ko when I'm asking them to send me timeline nung pagsubmit nia application and medical. Sinabi daw nia sa brother ko wala naman pinadala. Mejo masungit na din ako minsan, lalo pa mejo mahirap na magkikilos sa akin ngayon.

Should I follow up na kaya?

hi mga sisses, sino po dito ang nasa region ng Tweed Heads area or near suburbs, may marecommend ba kayo na apartment or townhouse for rent, i have a 7 month old baby girl so sana friendly yung environment and safe with lots of parks. thanks sisses.
