Hi there mga sis.. can anyonenpls refer me to a criminal lawyer, or a law office handling criminal cases? 

Case is filed in Pasay. I am desperate! I dont know where to begin looking for a lawyer, do i just walk in on any law office? Is that normal?

@donselle - may evening classes ba ang PUP law school? Malapit lang kasi ang PUP sa amin. Pwede rin ba na isabay sa regular na classes kung lacking ka ng units sa English and Social Sciences? I've checked their website and the requirement is 18 units for English, 18 units social sciences and 6 for math. I think I only have 12 units for both english and social sciences.

kung kulang, kelangan kumpletohin. pero normally pumapayag ang mga law school na mag-enroll khit kulang ka sa units nung mga nabanggit mong subjects. yun nga lang, you need to complete yung mga kulang mo na units before you can graduate from law school. di ka rin kasi papayagan ng supreme court na magtake ng bar exam kung kulang yan. kasi nasa batas yan na kelangan kumpleto ang mga subject na nabanggit mo para maging eligible bar candidate.

Q # 1, answer: file an action for support sa regional trial court. you need a lawyer for this.
Q# 2, answer: sa lawyer po. wag kayo dun sa mga may payong payong lang sa kalye na nagnonotaryo.

@fionaapple - thank you for your reply. Nagtanong din ako sa isang PUP law student, mukhang for Juris Doctor ng PUP kailangan na daw na complete lahat ng prerequisite ng units bago ka mag-enrol. Di na daw pwede na isabay while taking J.D.

Paano rin po ma-complete yung lacking units? Does this mean kailangan ko ulit mag-take ng undergrad na course?

Ask ko rin po, for PUP law students, instead of Bachelor of Laws naging J.D. na po siya ngayon? Or magkaiba po ba yun?

Would you mind sharing how you searched your thesis topic? I mean, ano ang inspiration ng thesis ninyo?

Thesis kasi, for me, is one deciding point to consider if I should proceed with law school. Di kasi ako magaling magsulat.

^ Since your thesis will be submitted in your final year in law school, you will have sufficient time to think of a topic. In any case,  a thesis adviser will be assigned to you.

You need to hone your writing skill if you want to be a law student.  Most exams are in essay format.  And well, writing (memos, opinions, pleadings, etc) constitutes a huge chunk of law practice.  Check Strunk and White and the Chicago Times Manual for Writers for tips.

yes, mostly evening ang mga classes sa PUP law. they usually start at 5pm, then end at either 8pm or 9pm. tapos merong saturday classes, they start as early as 8am and ends also at either 8pm or 9pm.

as for the prerequisite subjects, yan and hindi ako sigurado. LLB (bachelor of laws) kasi ako sa PUP-law, kaya pwede pang mag-take ng kulang na subjects while taking the law proper, usually during summer. (OT: actually hindi ko pa nakukuha yung mga kulang kong subjects, hehe!) yung sinasabing dapat kumpleto mo na yung required units prior to enrollment, possible siguro yun kung medyo recent grad ka, meaning 2012 and beyond. pero paano naman yung mga nag-graduate prior to that year? and as far as I know, walang isang course sa kahit anong school sa Pinas ang may perfectly sufficient number of units that's suited for law school.

OT again: I really think the current admin in PUP law is being inconsiderate with their policies. kinda long story, but to make it a little shorter, the rules are inconsiderate enough para bumaba nang husto ang retention rate ng mga students dito. I'm not discouraging you guys to enter PUP law, in fact I'm welcoming you guys here, but always expect the unexpected, like the sudden changes in school policies, because it may change from time to time, depending on the leading administration.

yes may thesis requirement. pero throughout the course naman tuturuan naman kayo ng thesis writing. pero always mind the basic grammar and composition rules. and yeah, Strunk and White is a good reference for writing tips. recommend ko na rin yung AP stylebook, kasi may ibang profs na gusto ng journalistic-style ng pagsagot sa essay-type questions, so this will come in handy.

kung ayaw mo mag-thesis writing, wag Juris Doctor degree kunin mo. yung LLB degree dapat.

Sis oshiawase, kung budget ang paguusapan, consider pup or neu pero kung wala namang issue dun, kahit saan ka pa magtake ng law eh okay naman. After all, nasa sayo naman yan kung magaaral kang mabuti.  pare-parehas lang tayo ng librong binabasa, mga cases na pinagaaralan, nagkakatalo lang tayo sa diskarte.
