Swimming for baby, where to go?

I was thinking the same thing today! I want sana an indoor pool with the water slightly heated so it won't be cold. The only place I can think of is Ace Water Spa but I don't know if they will allow babies...

Any suggestions would be great!

^they do allow babies. maarte nga lang. dapat meron ka swim diapers and TRUNKS lang or swimsuit ang pwede. bawal boardshorts even if you show them na yun lang ang swimshorts ng baby mo

I have a swimsuit na for my daughter, just need to buy swim diapers though....though aren't the charlie banana swimdiapers and trunks in one? hehe well I have a girl so not applicable rin.

If that's the case I can bring my daughter swimming! But I need a swimsuit...all I have are bikinis from my pre-preg days

Richmonde Hotel Ortigas--indoor (I don't quite remember if it's heated, but it's not cold)
Ateneo Grade School pool--outdoor, not heated, open to public on weekends only


If you have access/know someone who does:

Manila Polo Club--heated, outdoor
CSA Makati--heated, covered
Celebrity Sports Club--outdoor, not heated

Haven't been to Ace Water Spa, but I heard may mga batang nagka-UTI from their pools.

It really makes sense to use proper swimming attire and swim diapers for babies, especially if they're not yet toilet trained, for hygiene reasons.

^i find it weird lang sa ace water spa na bawal boardshorts type of swimwear even if yun lang ang dala mo, meron sila for rent i think na pambata but i find it unhygienic naman. and they dont sell swim diapers

^Noong summer halos lahat ng major supermarkets merong swim diapers, pero ngayon siguro baka sa Rustan's o S&R na lang meron. If you can't find disposable ones, merong reusable/washable type available in Mothercare.

My husband & i are taking our son to the beach this oct. we cleared it na with his pedia. She said na tampisaw lang daw though & just make him luvlob waist deep max but he can swim na daw ng 30 mins. Were so excited!

^^^^The best ang beach for babies! It's so much more exciting than pools. Sarap ng sea breeze, and children can play on the sand.

Ganda rin sa Laiya and it's close to Manila (around 2-3 h drive).

sis DV, question I'm a bit paranoid about sand mites especially since sensitive ang skin ng babies right? Would you know if its already safe for a 7 month old to play in the sand?

Also do any of you ladies have any suggestions as to what sunblock kaya to use for babies? TIA!

^^^Pwede naman ang 7-month-old to play in the sand. Parang sayang ang trip to the beach without playing; kahit sa tubig minsan parang may little biting creatures din. Anyhow, to protect your baby kahit papaano, you can:

1. dress him in a 1-piece rash guard type swimmers para protected yung bottom nya kahit nakaupo at para hindi masyadong exposed yung ibang parts of his body;
2. let him sit on a blanket and just give him a bucket of sand and a small container of water along with beach toys so he can pour, mix, sift, grab;
3. apply insect repellant (I read this works against sand mites too) 30 minutes before/after applying sunscreen (kailangan matuyo muna yung first layer para hindi mag-mix ang insect repellant at sunscreen);
4. bring calamine lotion (just in case he gets bitten) and pedia-approved antihistamine (just in case the bites get too big/swollen--sa daughter ko kasi there are times na when she gets insect bites sobrang laki ng pantal).


Sa sunscreen, I use Nivea Babies lang. OK din ang California Babies, less harsh ingredients. I would recommend getting a scent-free sunscreen if you plan on applying a natural insect repellant also para hindi ma-mask yung scent ng insect repellant. Or maybe get one of those insect repellant bands para hindi mag-mix with the sunscreen.

I think youre talking about aveeno ata? It's different from aveeno ha. Baby blanket meron ata Rustan's. California babies is also good according to my fried who uses this on her baby

Thanks DV for the tips! Really useful sya would you know where i can find a baby rash guard? Kasi ive checked speedo, debenhams & rustans wala ako makita.
