also, when i breastfeed and may visitors sa bahay like nung time na my brother-in-law and my husband's tito came over to visit, magsusuot ako ng nursing cover and banat naman ng MIL, tanggalin mo na yan. Ok lang sa kanila yan, normal lang yan, may asawa din yan eh.  nakakainis lang.  syempre ok lang sa kanila anupat audience sila. eh paano naman ako? i don't want to be exposed.

kaya kinausap ko talaga husband ko about it and told him na next time we have visitors and i have to feed, please tell your mother na you don't want your wife exposed even in front of relatives.  so at least let her wear a nursing cover.  that was when MIL was staying at our house nung kapapanganak ko pa lang. buti nalang ngayon at umuwi na sya sa kanila.

^ikaw na rin mismo nagsabi na small framed ka. breastfed babies by the way tend to be leaner rin and in our country pa naman chubby babies are associated with being healthy which is a wrong notion IMO. nasa genes rin kasi yan. don't pressure yourself so much just because your baby's "not" gaining enough weight. cut your baby some slack. as long as your baby's healthy i dont see any reason for you to get praning specially that you just gave birth lang din pala.

hello mga sis!

I have a new dilemma :(
Tapos na ko sa dilemma ng bottle feeding, TT feeding bottles and Pigeon's peristaltic nipple (regular sized) worked for my daughter.

Now that she is 4.5 months old, parang humihina yung milk supply ko  :'(
Dati, every morning, upon waking up, I was able to pump 4-5 oz. That is around 7am, after breastfeeding her around 3 or 4 AM.
I am a work from home mom kaya once a day lang ako nagpupump and I direct feed her the rest of the day.

I need your help. What should I do? What food and supplements can you suggest? BTW, i am taking pro-lacta twice a day.

@grayce thannks sis!! You're right about the rejection thing. Maybe im just too tired na all i could do is talikuran siya in the morning kaya ang ending na fufrustrate siya, the more he gets angry and grumpy.  :-\ getting him to do other activities is the answer pero yun nga, in the morning im too sleepy pa. He wakes up at 6:00am haaay.. ;)

Naku sis, if spending time ang problem im a SAHM, he BFs when we read, when we watch tv.. My attention is with him always.

Sisses masakit ba talaga mag-BF at first? I really want to BF exclusively when I give birth, kaya lang nakakainis yung OB ko, she's not a breastfeeding advocate. Instead of supporting me 100% na ok mag-BF and magroom-in after delivery, parang tinatakot pa nya ako. She's asking me "Eh kaya mo ba? Imagine exhausted ka pa nun from labor tapos sakit pa tahi mo, tapos yung boobs mo engorged. Luluha ka sa sakit." Kainis diba?

^usually pain is caused by wrong latch. A mommy here before compared it to learning to play the guitar. Sa umpisa nagkakalyo darlii mo. Then it will come a time nasasanay ka na and you no longer notice it.

For breastfeeding moms, what do you wear at home for easy & comfortable nursing/latching?
Thanks! :)

mas marami na breast milk ko!!!  15th day old na baby.  kaso hindi pa ren sinisimot ni baby.  kasi naman, nakakatulog pa ren sya.  so technique ko, breast #1, then pag nakatulog at hindi ko sya magising, lalapag ko na sya, maya konti wala pang 3 minutes or usually within 30 seconds lang, hihingi ulit, so breast #2 naman.  makakatulog sya ulit!!!  then s26 formula milk na ang bagsak nya.  with this technique, 4 to 5 hours sya bago humingi ulit.  pero kung s26 diretso, 3 hours hihingi na sya.

^yay! But if you really want to succeed with breastfeeding, you should stop supplementing with formula. That can really compromise your supply. And yan ang reason why he cannot/doesn't empty your breast

^^FYI, just because matagal bago humingi ang baby mo doesnt mean that she's "satisfied". formula milk is VERY filling compared to breastmilk that is easily digested lang by the baby, hence the reason why she doesnt ask for milk for a long time. normally pag exclusively breastfed every 2-3hrs or even less at times. and your baby's just a newborn so mas frequent talaga sila magfeed. And do take note also that newborns tend to comfort nursing, which explains why she still wants to feed from you kahit na kakalapag mo palang. Just let her latch, they normally unlatch once they're satisfied already.

@hunny_ally and @Grayce   napansin ko, may times na i don't need to feed him formula milk.  nag aadjust na sya siguro sa breast milk.  pero natatakot ako, baka magkasakit ako.  cesarean kasi ako.  then i need to start accepting orders na ren sa online shop.  although tumutulong husband ko to pack, count and send really bulk packages, napapagod pa ren ako.

i'm so happy na next week magfo-4months na kaming ebf ng baby girl ko.;) and working outside of the house has never been a hindrance. ang dami kong natutunan in this thread, like to avoid mixed feeding, and not to be afraid that i'm not giving enough milk.

i feel confident now that i have enough supply. dati sabi ko, i plan to bf until 6mos, ngayon i want na hanggang kaya at meron, why not, di ba?

i'm currently taking malunggay capsules from Health Express (P600+ for 90 caps). I do drink green tea, skip rice during lunch and doing exercises -- these used to be my fear na baka humina ang supply ko but so far we're sustaining naman. actually i'm able to build pa a small stash of frozen milk for emergency needs. yung napupump ko kasi sa office for next day consumption nya. pero i do freeze milk for back-up.

Mga sis I'm not sure if this is OT. I just gave birth and since I am stay at home mom, I trying to breast feed my baby though sometimes we gave him formula milk kze parang kulang pa supply ko.

I'm just wondering if breast feeding will make my boobs stirred or "lawlaw"?

^ Your boobs will sag eventually not because of breastfeeding but because of gravity, unless you have very small breasts.

Stop supplementing.  Your milk is enough.  It has been written here over and over again.

If you nurse your baby on demand, that will be sufficient.  That NEVER fails.  That is how breastfeeding works. You latch your baby, your brain signals the milk-producing hormones to produce, your body produces milk.  The moment you interfere with the process by giving formula or water or anything else, your brain will signal your body to stop producing.  It is as simple as that.

A newborn will cry, naturally.  Ask any mother.  Que breastfed, que formula fed pa, iiyak at iiyak pa rin kasi BABY iyan eh.  That's the only way a baby knows how to communicate.  So hindi porque umiyak eh automatically gutom or hindi busog.  Maaring nilalamig o naiinitan.  Hinahanap ang nanay o ang tatay.  O  naiinip siya (babies do get bored).  It is so easy and simplistic to just put a bottle of formula in your baby's mouth to make him stop crying.

Breastfeeding actually makes you more attuned to your baby's needs because you are aware that a baby's cry for attention is different from say, the cry of hunger.  Also, when you are nursing, you know that when a baby gets restless or salivates, it is a hunger cue already.  You do not wait for the baby to cry because that means that the baby is very very hungry.

^and may i add, hindi rin por que they keep on feeding e hindi enough ang milk. like i always say over and over here, breastmilk is easily digested by baby hence the reason why they feed more frequent unlike with formula which is harder to digest.
