^^sis, my baby is also a preemie. pero ngaun ang laki na nya. sabi nga ng pedia nya nkahabol n sya sa mga term babies na same with his corrected age. ganu katagal ba magfeed si baby sau? dapat kasi at least 10 mins sya magfeed sa isang breast then burp tas offer mo yung secong breast. pero pag di naman nya tinake, ok lang din yun.
i sometimes do the side lying position. dapat nktagilid din si baby pag ganun.

^^YES! Super helpful ng nursing pillow. that was my lifesaver before during my first few months of breastfeeding lalo na if super antok and pagod na ako.

Minsan nakaka stress & burn out din.
As in buong katawan nya naka side?
Tnx! :)
Yes but meron rin times na yung ulo lang ni baby yung nakaside. try to practice ng nakaside na muna si baby :) you can try putting pillows on the side para d cya masyado magroll and nakapwesyo cya. It helps also if meron ka kasalitan magbantay. I remember before ultimo pagligo talagang tinatry ko i-enjoy para lang kahit papano makadestress ng konti.

^sis princess_angel, napaka tagal.. Gusto nya kasi naka dede sya hanggang makatulog. So lagi syang naka dikit talaga sa akin. Iniisip ko na lang na based sa mga nababasa ko it will get easier naman daw. Ang tanong ko lang nga is when.. hehe :p

^sis Grayce, sige i will try to practice yang side lying position. Naku, totoo yang sinabi mo! For now ang pagligo ko ang ponaka major relaxation ko. hehe..

Side kwento,  check up ni baby kanina. On our way home naisip ko dumaan sandali sa snr. Iwan si baby w/yaya sa car. Bilin ko if nagwala to call me agad para babalik ako. :)

^how old is your baby? normal na normal sa newborns yan so don't worry. to make you feel better, buti ka nga you have a yaya. we live abroad and it's just me and my husband who does everything here, swerte ko nalang if magcooperate sa chores and pagbabantay ang husband ko but 80-90% of the time I do everything here. I'm not familiar with preemies but I noticed it was around 3mos old na ata baby ko when he can last for atleast 1-2hrs without looking for me to breastfeed. tiis tiis lang, it'll get easier as time goes :)

Gusto talaga nya hanggang makatulog sya.

^your baby's comfort nursing i think :) that's so normal for newborns. ok lang hayaan mo, babies unlatch by themselves if they're full and satisfied already. and yes hinahanap nya amoy mo. babies usually look for the warmth and comfort of their mommies :) do you have a nursing pillow? try using one para hindi ka masyado mangawit while breastfeeding.

Colostrum pa lang meron pagkapanganak di ba mga mommies. lahat ng mommy meron nun tama ba? so yun colostrum enough na for a newborns appetite. then after 2-3 days pwedeng magkaron na nga milk talaga. pero dapat continuous pagpapadede and eat healthy and drink lots of fluid para makatulong sa milk production.

I attended, tama ka. Mga 1tsp nga lang daw
Ng colostrum on the first couple of days ok na. Normal pa nga daw for the baby to lose a little of their birth weight. Bumabawi na lang sila by the second week.

It has been said over and over again that what the baby gets is colostrum. It's thicker than mature milk. After giving birth just continue to breastfeed the baby so he can get the colostrum which is nutrient packed. Dadating din the mature milk days after giving birth

Besides what made you say gutom si baby? Remember breast milk is lighter on the tummy because walang added fillers unlike formula. Hence, everythig is digestible. Besides it is possible the baby is only comfort nursing and not really hungry. Sabi nga my LC, a mother's breast is not only a source of nutrition it is also a source of comfort for the baby

Thank God ive been able to sustain breastfeeding - 6 months na kami ng son ko. It was a tough start and di ko inakala na ill be able to last this long but its really a choice that I made together with my husband. Mahirap parin sya lalo na when im tired from work & i have to direct feed him at night but its all worth it when i see his face contently sucking at my breast :) sarap ng feeling talaga. :) now i u derstand why mommies have a hard time when babies wean na. :)

^just nurse nurse nurse. Sabi nga ng isang mommy here never doubt your ability to nourish your child. That yellow sticky stuff is the colostrum. Imagine too that a nb's tummy is smaller than a marble. Mabilis mapuno and mabilis din ma-empty cause bm is lighter on the tummy. I can understand your frustration (more if you are a new mommy). Just continue nursing and don't be tempted to give a bottle

Mommies, what month ang babies nyo nung ng side-lying position kayo to breastfeed all through the night (meaning walang tayuan mula gabi hanggang umaga except to change diaper)?

nakakafrustrate talaga pag iyak ng iyak si baby. isa pa pala yun sa kailangan masurpass natin mga first time magbreastfeed.

warning lang,  just because it worked for your friend doesnt mean it will work for you and others as well. direct feeding is still the BEST way to stimulate milk. wag iaasa lahat sa pump :) i have a friend who thought using a breast pump will be able to sustain her breast milk supply but her supply dwindled after 2 months of pumping. i also have a family friend naman she's exclusively pumping and good naman she was able to do it kasi ayaw maglatch ng baby nya. but after a year of doing it unti unti narin nagdwindle supply nya.

Re issue with latching, it was mentioned and actually stressed by the lactation consultant who conducted the breastfeeding class i attended to make sure to have the doctor or nurse check under your baby's tongue for 'tongue tie'. It is not uncommon for babies to be born with that. It makes for very painful breastfeeding and difficulty in latching. Wala naman daw pakiramdam yun and they simple nip that little 'cartilage' that attaches your baby's tongue to the bottom of the mouth.
