^ I started giving my babies sips of water a little after the 6th month when I started introducing solid food.  I gave them Dr. Edwards water until they turned 1 year old.

im so sad. for 2 days now, my pumping output was less then 5oz. na lang. my baby consumes less milk na kasi she's eating quite a lot na. she's more than 8 months old na. she sleeps most of the night and wakes up only once or twice to feed for a while then she sleeps na ulit. during the day, she is given 2 bottles of milk, the rest is food na. nakakalungkot kasi hindi ko alam kung ano pa ba ang gagawin ko to increase my milk. i bring my pump naman everywhere, i drink a lot of water and just recently, i started eating mommy treats again and prolacta.

^^^i started giving sips of water lang to my son when he was 9mos ata or 10mos. prior to that pinapa cup feed ko ang thawed BM ko as water. and yes tama 90% water naman kasi ang BM. my pedia said na kahit no water ok lang but if i think medyo nacoconstipate daw si baby ok lang bigyan ng water.

^have you tried pumping ng madaling araw? dun pinakamaraming output usually. i've been breastfeeding for almost 18mos already and my son still breastfeeds from me as soon as he wakes up, before he takes his nap and at night time as well. i think depends rin sa baby.

yes i pump minsan pag madaling araw kasi i really try na kung ano yung na-consume nya, yun din ang mapupump ko kaya naghahabol ako lagi. that way, hindi masyado nababawasan yung extra stock ko. i usually have anywhere from 6 to 8 bottles of milk stored. ang consumption ng baby ko ngayon 2 bottles, minsan 3 pero bihira yun. the rest is food na. when i direct feed, hindi naman ako nagwoworry na baka wala na kong milk. nafi-feel ko lang yanpag nagpu-pump ako pero konti lang ang lumalabas. gusto ko na nga sana yung sa gabi na lang magbreastfeed at bago ako umalis sa umaga pero nagwoworry naman ako na hindi kaya ng baby ko yun.

Im at my wits end! I dont know what's happening to my son. For the last almost 3 weeks he's been getting fussier & fussier at nigt and in the last 2 days it seems as if were back to waking up every 1 1/2hrs to feed at night pero sa day ok naman sya. He just refuses to sleep ng maayos. Im so tired already. :(

Grayce he's 5 months & 1 week old. We went to the pedia & brought this up she chwcked & said na its nir errupting pa daw. Now the only thing which seems to comfort him & bring him back to sleep is nursing directly, but im having such a difficult time dince i also work & cant catch uo sleep in the Am. My husband wants to feed formula na at night kasi feeling nya itll help our son sleep. Ive kept pushing back but im so tired na talaga.

^try to observe if may changes sa disposition ni baby. If he gets fussy or started developing rashes, most likely you'll have to deprive yourself of milo.

^my baby also developed rashes nung umiinom ako ng milo. kasi nung tinigil ko nawala na. after 3months medyo hindi na siya nagkakareaction. but nung uminom ako ng boiled tablea, talagang meron ulet. so negative na muna. will wait siguro kapag medyo mas mature na yung system ni baby.

@honey_iya, my children's pedia discouraged me from drinking cow's and soy milk while I was breastfeeding.  Cow's milk has allergens that may be transmitted through my breastmilk, while soy farming production methods may pose a risk of excess estrogen levels that may also be transmitted through my milk (my children are boys, by the way).  In addition, as I recall, pedia said something about mucus production re my intake of milk.  I just drank calcium-fortified orange juice and ate green leafy vegetables and took calcium supplements to meet my body's calcium needs.

to those breast feeding / breastpumping mommies - sama pa din ba ang pina-pump nyo when babies start to eat solids. may times kasi na hindi nauubos yung iniian kongm ilk dahil nabubusog sa solids though most of the meals have BM din naman. thanks!

marose, actually ang habol ko sis yung mainitan tiyan ko sa umaga eh di din pala pwede ang milk. So pwede naman pala mag take ng calcium supplement. Btw,normal lang ba sa newborn yung maya't-maya dumede? Baby ko kasi basta gising gusto nakadede lagi, parang walang kabusugan. Almost 3 weeks palang siya.

^ Very normal.  Your baby may be undergoing a growth spurt kaya gutom palagi.  Saka breastmilk is easy to digest kaya madali ring magutom ang baby na breastfed.

^^sis kaice, si baby ko hindi pa rin nababawasan intake ng milk, but yung intake niya naman kasi is 12-16oz lang so walang bearing masyado hehe. btw, pinapainom na ba ng water baby mo? ako kasi hindi muna eh. will delay til medyo marami na siya magsolids. 2x a day pa lang kumaen si baby. 7.3kgs na siya (yehey!).

Thanks Grayce, I know its a bit OT but do I give him this when he fusses and cries or after feeding?

Another question to the breastfeeding moms - would any of you know if its safe to get shots for anti-cervical cancer even while breastfeeding? Or delay it nalang?

Thanks!
