Avoiding the fallout...
« on: August 15, 2012, 02:10:42 pm »
Sa panahon ngayon, ano ang kaya/pwede kong gawin bilang GF, that will make us avoid falling out of love?
I'm not saying it's happening.. natatakot lang ako na baka in the future diba..
Inevitable ba ang pagsasawa? or nasa kilos ba ng couple yun?
May formula or recipe ba for a long and lasting love? :)

Sa mga nababasa ko at "research" ko, it takes 2 to tango. Una una yung baseline. Pareho dapat kayong matino at may integrity, honest sa relasyon, tapat sa isa't isa at walang lokohan.

Secondly, compatibility, chemistry.  May spark ba?  Tapos pareho ba kayo ng likes/dislikes? If not, complimentary ba? Money matters?  nagkakaintindihan ba kayo?  Kahit ultimo sa limits on what you "think" the other party should/shouldn't do with the opposite gender.

Third, both should be committed to nurture the relationship.

^i totally agree with everything you said, i could not have said it any better.

personality wise, we're total opposites but we complement each other.  and that's because of how we are as individuals already (what you termed as yung 'baseline' character).

so agree with both having to work hard to nurture the relationship.  each party must feel that he/she is important, not taken for granted and the top priority.

and most importantly, you have to geniunely LIKE the person you're with.  love is dictated by the heart, unconditional yon e.  pero liking somebody is making the effort to win the affection and approval of that person.  we do this all the time with our close friends, why can't we do this to the one we love too.  :D

Very good points ang sinabi nya.

Yes, it is but human to get bored.  So, inevitable ang pagsasawa.
Yes, there is a recipe for long & lasting love.  Just don't aim for Always, or Forever.

As a GF, you can:
ACCEPT you are 2 different people; & thereby, do not waste time & effort in proving your way is better; you are right; you are more intelligent/ambitious/forward thinking/good looking. :D. Etc  etc etc etc
ADVANCE yourself in life so that he does not see you as "napagiiwanan"/stale.  He should see you as a continuing challenge/a dynamic person.
LEVEL UP your relationship through time.  As your relationship grows -- you should each mature & grow in confidence so that your area of concern & interest  widens & your dreams/goals become bigger.
          Be KIND.
          GIVE constant encouragement & appreciation.
Let there be BREATHING SPACE between you 2.
BE REAL.   No relationship is perfect.  So you work to overcome the imperfections.
          PRAY for Divine Guidance.

Guys dig girls who have a life of their own. If you want to keep him, make yourself a challenge for him - what I mean is love him in all the wonderful ways that every "how-to" article could show you, however, never let him be the center of your universe. Guys are real hunters, if they get bored with you, they look elsewhere to feed their nature. Accept him for he is. Don't ever try to change him. Don't ever be clingy. They hate that. Make him feel that even if he leaves you, you could still manage to stand up on your own. Give and take but don't ever compromise your worth. That's when they will internalized that you are for keeps. THEY WILL NEVER TAKE YOU FOR GRANTED BECAUSE THEY KNOW FOR SURE THEY WON'T EVER FIND SOMEONE BETTER THAN YOU.

Of course, I agree that it takes two to tango. There's always the factor that your relationship will still at least a minimum of 5% failure regardless if you two are so head over heels in love with each other. Remember TIME BRINGS CHANGES. The guy you know now may change after a year or so. So be open. Explore creative measures. Bond together but also let him miss you from time to time. Spend time with your friends and let him do the same.

Love him with all your heart but as the wise men said "magtira ka pa rin ng pagmamahal sa sarili. You won't be able to love a person healthily and sincerely if you don't value yourself as well."
