I co-sleep sa gabi and during daytime naman, sa Crib.

The crib bottom is not kahoy.  It is usually a mesh something or, the better cribs (ewan ko if ganon pa gawa now - short cut na kasi ) -- plastic solihiya.   The duvet - you have an ordinary mananahi sew it accdg to your banig size. You just buy good quality flat sheets for her/him to sew.  The banigs - pinapagawa in Negros or Bohol.   they are beautiful & smooth to the touch, & really, you do not need duvet covers. But the banigs --you can order it saan man selling banigs -- just give the size of your crib. 

It is good for the back and head of the baby -- IMO, good for motor development too.
Pag na wet yung beddings - easy.  Rinse lang (my lavandera pins to sampayan & hoses it down, iwan to drip dry)
 Have at least 15 - you will never run out.  Tapos yung duvet covers - just washing machine - use Victoria detergent. Use no-iron flat sheets - to be sewn  - so hang to dry lang.

Inspite of  kaartehan namin  sisters and in laws -- we followed our Lola on this.  Kasi nga we never heard of kids their generation dying of SIDS.  Sa probinsya, sa mga mahihirap.  -- wala din.  Sa US matagal ng cuento yan.  My mom & titas said nagka SIDS lang na cuento nang nauso yang mga US cribs and nicey nice beddings & mattresses & 24/7 aircon.   

I don't know but -- well, I once had a colicky fussy baby. During the day linagay namin sa duyan.  Yung native duyan -  yung naka tali both ends with ropes.  It was hung a few inches over the bed (may mattress of course, hehe  in case mahulog -- ay super OC nga ko) May licensed midwife yayas  ako - 3 shifting ha, kasi CS ako. My  house is in Greenhills North then - and may duyan. Lols  deadma my hubby, deadma my MIL. 
But the baby  settled down.  Ganon kami for almost 2 months.  I think it has something to do with the air circulation and tension  on the baby's back. Atchaka wala akong baby na pangit  ulo shape - kasi I do not use mattresses. Hindi din sipunin my babies kahit sipunin ako.  IMO, the baby gets better traction & circulation.

Kami ni hubby, we co-sleep with baby din kasi nagbbreastfeed ako. I'm planning na magtransition din in having him sleep sa crib, kaso natatakot ako na hindi ko makita. Kasi minsan, naglulungad si baby diba? Baka hindi ko mapansin kasi kapag nasa crib..

Hi mommy m_lim! We meet again!  ilang months ka na pala? Im on my 29th week na!
Anyway, we dont plan to co-sleep with the baby. Super dangerous sa bed pag kaming dalawa ni husband ang natutulog. Lagi akong nasasapak, minsan nasisipa ko naman sya (same as you, ni back-read ko yung thread). Kaya bumili na lang kami ng playard. Dun si baby, katabi ko yung playard. We plan to have two separate rooms kasi muna with husband for the meantime. Sa nursery kmi ni baby si daddy sa masters. Para naman maka pagrest ng maayos at night. Ayaw ko rin masyadong sanayin si baby sa karga, yun kasi ang sabi sa akin ni mommy, kaya best buy namin talaga ang playard (with rocker/ diper change area). Doon talaga si baby.

^hi sis! 20weeks na ako. tinitingnan ko rin ngayon yung Graco pack n play with changing station and napper. sana ok kay baby yun.

gusto ko sana yung kahoy kaso pag nakakatayo na, baka mauntog untog si baby.

try ko rin mag co sleep since gusto ko mag breastfeed.

^sis if I may suggest no need to get the fancy graco playard, you can change your baby naman in the bassinet itself. and the napper might only be used for a month or two, I've read reviews that if your baby is heavy the support on the napper won't hold up.

No need na rin to get the ones with vibration so your baby won't get used to it. A plain playard is 7K while one with all the works (which you really don't need) is like 13-14K. Sayang rin  You're due in Jan right? Sayang if you can wait for the annual SM baby fair the savings are huge! I got my playard in Nov/Dec for 7K for a design that was so-so but I was getting praning about having all my baby stuff together. At the baby fair I saw a graco playard for only 4K! And it was in a design I liked so much better.

You're 20 weeks na! So fast! In a few weeks you'll find out baby's gender

^hi mommy khriseee! We meet again too! We bought graco with fancy fancy thing sa babies r us,11k including shipping ng pobox. Kaya sabi ni husband okay na yun.di kasi aabot sa baby annual fair, november due ko. Hehe.

^actually plan talaga ni husband wooden crib. Pero ni convince ko sya na mas useful ang playard, kasi nga mas malaki ang risk ng untog-untog pag sa wooden crib.
Yun lang nga problem kapag magbbreastfeed, kelangan talaga katabi mo c baby para super accessible. Pero wahhh, hindi ko talaga maimagine na katabi ko si baby matulog!!! Baka madagaanan ko talaga. hi sis akiteklea! hahaha yes!

We actually got both a playard and wooden crib. The wooden crib is in our room when baby sleeps with us on weekends while playard is in the nursery where baby sleeps during the day and with yaya during the week (I am on nightshift e). Also the playard is an option if we travel, for example hubby and I are going to Cebu in October and we will leave baby with my in laws - the playard will easily pack and transfer over to their place.

A lot of mommies here co-sleep but I am personally uncomfortable. My baby will usually co-sleep with us in the early morning, 4AM onwards and although I lie next to her, I don't really get to sleep. I pull the crib right next to my side of the bed and I can hear her breathing and every movement so it works for me and I get better sleep too.

I also got the newborn to toddler rocker but purchased from the US, it's only $40 there! super sulit, my baby loves it

I'll get the basic Graco nalang then Fisher Price cradle n swing. Super cute kasi yung swing, sarili siya magswing kay baby then madaming sabit sabit!

Btw, we are having a baby girl! Kaya lalong exciting mamili ng cute na gamit.

^congrats sis!!! I have a girl rin and its hard not to overspend on clothes and accessories!! Though you may want to hold off buying gender specific stuff, some girls turn out to be guys =P though its never the other way around

buti pa kau mommies m_lim and khriseee mga girls ang babies =) from my last ultrasound, its 80% girl daw pero hindi pa ako makabili ng mga girl and pink stuffs, baka kasi biglang maging boy ang baby ko! baka daw hindi nagpakita yung "lawit and balls" ni baby, baka naipit lang at natago. nakatuwad kasi si baby nung u/s eh. hehe...i just bought few green/ yellow colored onesies and mga white na tie sides, para unisex. yung mga pang-labas na porma ni baby, hindi pa. kahit na natetempt na ako buy everytime na nasa mall, especially those cute socks!

We tried to co-sleep (at night) but it didnt work out. Hirap kumilos sa bed kasi nagigising si baby. Kaya we decided to buy a simple crib with bassinet. The crib is near our bed, so we could check him. From new born to 3 months he used the bassinet.
During day time, we have a crib in the living room. It is an old crib, plastic solihiya ang bottom. Doon siya natutulog.

At first month, she sleeps in the crib. Succeeding months co-sleeping na. I even forgot what led me to let her sleep beside me. Buti na lang hindi ako malikot matulog otherwise I might accidentally hit her. Now, her crib serves as a storage for her toys and things. I might put her back to sleeping in the crib at 6 mos. to put that crib into use.

nung newborn si baby sa crib nya,kasi hindi pa din ako masyado makakilos sa bed since bagong panganak,nung 1 month pag hindi siya makatulog tinatabi ko sa akin ayun mas mabilis siya mag sleep,pag malalim na ang tulog tsaka lang namin siya nililipat ulit sa crib,pag afternoon sleep tabi kami sa bed,ngayong 2 months na siya balik crib at pag nagloloko o malakas ulan at may kulog o kidlat tinatabi ko sa akin kasi naaawa ako nagugulat siya,si daddy niya kawawa kasi he will sleep in the floor kasi pang dalawahan lang ang bed namin
