Mga sis ask ko na rin pala dito [textspeak!] order sa pag pprepare ng wedding like ano ba dapat unahin church reception, caterer? Kasi [textspeak!] if na book mo na yung church but yung reception suddenly di na available that date? Panu yon?

Well, usually dapat talaga church and reception venue unahin para mabook talaga yung date and time na gusto natin. Pero dahil 2014 pa tayo, minsan di pa sila tumatanggap ng bookings nun kaya yung iba inuuna na nila muna ang ibang suppliers like P/V, caterer, etc. Pero dapat bago ka magbook ng suppliers, sure na sure na sure ka na sa date na gusto niyo.

Saka bantayan mo na lang yung gusto niyong church and reception venue para di ka maunahan! Haha! Tawagan mo yung mga options niyo for church and venue tapos ask them na lang when sila tumatanggap ng 2014 bookings, tapos pag pwede na, go na agad! If all else fails, dapat may plan B ka para at least may other options ka pa rin if ever nabook na yung first choice mo.

What I did to cut down expenses:
-Lahat ng pwedeng i-DIY, DIY ko na lang
-Lahat ng resources na meron ako na pwede magamit, ginamit ko.
-I trimmed down guests to family and very few friends.
-I got service only for p/v.. malaking kamurahan
-I searched for a venue and food in one. Good thing I found One Cafe. May basic PA sound system na kasama at projector. parang mas mapapamahal pag separate suppliers pa kasi.
-I bought rtws. mas mura. good thing hindi mahirap bagayan ang body frame ko at ng entourage.
-Wala kaming prenup at STD. Pwede namang wala e.
-wedding cake, bibili na lang kami sa red ribbon ng plain na round cake, ipapatong dun ang DIY design at props na papagawa ko sa papa ko (he accepts made to order cakes but he insisted not to do our cake dahil magbeauty rest daw sya.)
-Ang may alam lang na ikakasal na kami ay ang family at ilang kaibigan na katulong sa preps. kahit sa office or ibang barkada, hindi ko sinasabi. nakakatulong sya sa pagtitipid dahil hindi ka maiinfluence ng iba sa pagpili ng suppliers. hindi ka mapepressure na dapat may ganito, may ganun dahil sabi ng iba. masarap yung sariling diskarte.

Ayan, sana makatulong.

I know na marami pa madagdagdag dyan.. baka lumagpas pa ng 150K pero hindi naman yung over na lagpas, a few thousands lang siguro. SANA! hehe..

i agree sa sinabi mo, minsan kasi the more na marami kang iimbitahin, the more na naiisip mo na pa bonggahin ang wedding kasi para walang masabi ang mga bisita.. naiimpluwensiyahan ka pa sa ibang suppliers.. pero sa totoo lang, kung family and true friends talaga, they'd appreciate anything.. except lang dun sa mga epal na hindi mo maiiwasan.. hehe

I got married June '03. Our budget was 100k lang since parents ang gagastos. Lumagpas sa budget dahil yun sinasabi ng MIL ko na magaling na manahi sinira yun gown ko. I ended up crying sa father ko. Sabi nya I should go to a trusted couterier since 1 month na lang kasal ko na. In other words yun ang nagpamahal.

like yong P/V namin, in fairness nagustuhan ko gawa nila. Mura at taga province pero aakalain mong kalevel nya yong mga mamahaling P/V dito sa manila.

di po ko ikakasal siguro Dec 2014 pa.. so matagal pa talaga... Balak namen sana eh 100k lang for 60 to 70 pax... sagad na ang 120k  basa basa lang muna ko dito.

immediate and up to 1st degree lang ng family ang invited and close friends. sabi ni bf sa kanya malamang sagad na yung 30pax  para sa angkan niya  sakin sagad na yung 40pax .. parehas naman kaming konti lang ang close friends 

so mga 70pax lang magiging bisita.. sa V/P lang siguro kami di magkukuripot at sa catering.

So what I did was to ask my family, relatives and friends if they're willing to share at our expenses by sponsoring or contributing to any of our required wedding suppliers. So yung extras samen na lang ng fiance ko.

Catering: Hizon's Catering (was sponsored by my inlaws)
Photo: I have cousins who are photographers so that's less cost
Video: Dreamechanics (I got their promo at 20k, 3 videos, Save the Date, SDE & Cinematic Highlights, all videos in HD)

i super agree sis. bilib din ako sa budget na ginawa mo. ako din i'm into 150k challenge caleruega/tagaytay wedding -- so far, kaya.

nakakahiya. failure ako sa pagbudget. hahaha lampas 200k na kami. pero asa blog ko naman ang breakdown. ayaw ko tingnan kung ano ang dahilan bakit kami sumobra. ngayon nga gustong gusto ko pa magdagdag........ ng choco fountain o dessert buffet o candy buffet.. yummmm saka na lang siguro, sa binyag na lang tee hee!
