All about Breastpumping part 3

as much as possible sis every 2-3hrs. basta don't go beyond 4hrs without pumping. if need talagang maging beyond 4hrs, make sure you empty your breast. para you make sure na may ma-sustain ang supply mo. i collect around 18oz or more per day. if super busy and get to pump only 3x instead of 4x, i collect 16oz. pero paguwe ko, medyo full pa din ako so i still collect some.

I'm also BFing my 3rd child now but I'll be going back to work on Friday. Pag ba nag-pump ka sa work, do you still wash and sterilize your pump for the next session? How do you keep it clean?

Any reviews on Avent manual pump? Direct feeding ako sa 5 month old daughter ko but im planning to store bm too for errands/malling. Tia!

OK naman sis yung Avent manual. Nga lang prepare to hear the squeaky sound sa pump OK din sya for traveling kasi nga hindi sya mabigat and no batteries needed.

No need na sis to sterilize. Just put your pump sa ziplock and then iref mo. Before pumping nag aalcohol ako and then before transferring milk sa milk bag.

^thanks! Worry ko kasi baka ma-spoil na yun tira-tirang drops ng milk sa pump and humalo next session. Tama, pwede nga pala iref. Ngayon lang kasi ako nakapag-breastfeed eh. Sa first 2 kids ko almost 2 weeks lang wala ng milk

I read good reviews on it pero i read you have to be prepared lang na magpalit a certain part kasi may tendency to lose suction pag sira na yung part na yun. May nabibili naman ata kaso i dont know if meron sa department stores or online lang.

I'm using the avent out and about manual pump. Ok naman sya for me, haven't tried other pumps though so i can't compare. But it serves naman my purpose. May kasama din syang spare part, yun valve tska yun silicon diaphragm. Wala lang nung extra 5-petal massage cushion. I bought it for my eldest ko pa in 2009, ngayon ko lang na-maximize yun use pero sulit na din for me.

^^thanks. yan din tanong ko. ang hirap kase pag huhugasan and sterilze the pump every session especially pag wala ka sa house.

nako hassle yun. saka kapag nasa house naman ako halimbawa nasterilize ko sa morning yung pump, magpapump ako in between feeding  then store ulit sa ref. sa gabi na ako mag sterilize ulit para hindi hassle. pati kapag pauwi naman make sure na may ice pack para puwede ka pa rin mag pump pagkauwi mo. worry ko dati baka mapanis yung milk na tira tira... pero hindi naman pala. just make sure na chilled yung pump. insulated bag nga pala yung gamit ko para hindi malusaw yung ice saka para hindi mainitan yung milk while traveling. 


Sis rexyloise nagpapop din ba yung star ng pump mo? akin kasi minsan nagpapop. Yung namimisplace yung star, umaangat sya minsan. Kaya natitigil yung pagpapump ko. PEro binabalik ko din nman. SObrang ingat nga lang kasi syempre baka macontaminate yung milk.

Mga 30 minutes lang naman travel time ko pauwi. If ever i-store ko milk sa fridge after pumping, kelangan ko pa ba yun ice pack pag-uwi kahit sandali lang travel ko? Nasira ko na kasi yun ice pack na kasama sa set ng breast pump. Wala sa avent sa SM marikina pagpunta ko. Meron din daw yun coleman ng ice pack pero wala din ako nakita sa SM or ace hardware. Need ko na makabili if ever, sa friday na pasok ko

Thanks sa mga replies. My mom bought a Disney baby bpump after I gave birth. It was okay back then. After 5 months of direct feeding, Hindi na Ko marunong magpump. I tried to pump I only got 2 tbsp haha. Good thing I read at kellymom that what you express does not measure your milk. Got my confidence back at least. But I will try again

^do take note also that breast pumps are hiyangan rin and your breast needs to get used to it rin. when i was still pumping, my initial output is approx 3oz per breast then eventually increased to 4-6oz and it depends on the time rin that i pump.

re: feeding, try to start with 2oz muna to see how much your baby can drink.

should i really  use wide-neck bottles to avoid nipple confusion?  i only have regular-neck bottles ngayon she was able to finish the 3 oz of ebm knina using the regular-neck bottles. sa una ayaw nya, hirap sya tapos tyaga k lang, ayun naubos nya din. may natirang konti. i guess she's full na. Pero when i tried to put her in her crib, iyak again. So karga ulit, then breastfeed ko sya. Eto ngayon sya asleep. :-)

sis kasi [textspeak!] travel time ko from makati to antipolo mga 1.5 hours to 2 hours. kaya need ko talaga yung icepack

^^not necessarily but you have to take nte hat you can only use the slowest flow of nipple to baby to avoid nipple confusion.mukhang nagcocomfort nursing si baby mo

Hi sis, december din ako due. Siguro read and research ka na para alam mo if you need it or which type will suit your needs. Sa first baby namin I got a manual pump before i gave birth and yung double electric ko dumating siguro 2months after giving birth. Nasira agad yungbplaytex manual pump ko then i sold my other pump so now on the lookout din ako ng new pump. Sa ngayon im probably gonna buy a manual pump kasi SAHM ako and medyo nahassle ako noon sa pagclean/setup ng electric pump kaya im hoping na mag direct feed most of the time and use the manual pump during times i have to go out or may errands

hindi na naman dinede ni baby yung EBM ko   sayang naman...3 days na successful yung bottle feeding tapos now, ayaw na naman

^I haven't tried cup feeding. I only use the regular feeding bottles. Hindi sya wide-neck. I am planning to try muna bumili ng wide-necked bottles, baka it might work. Haaay, sayang ang EBM ko
