Hi sis, anong difference ng dalawang copy na yun? Puwede na bang gamitin [textspeak!] local civil registry copy para sa pag update ng records sa SSS, BIR, etc?

^yes sis! ang alam ko sis, di sya (pastor) ang literal na mag-aasikaso ng processing, but the church admin/coord.

Hello, newlywed here. Our wedding was a month ago. I need sana a copy of our marriage certificate before we go on our honeymoon in Europe. What is the process, do I go back to our church in Tagaytay or seek it through NSO? I've been hearing it takes a while for it to get to NSO.

If ever via NSO, do i just fill up the form online and pay? What if wala pa pala dun?

@sparklingjewel, AFAIK if the event happend within Metro Manila it will only take 2-3 months. But in case you badly need it asap, you can ask the Tagaytay civil registry for advance endorsement (but some civil registry dont do it daw). Then in two-three weeks digitally converted na yung mc mo hope it helps.

Hi Sparklingjewel! We just bought our honeymoon tickets a couple of weeks ago and I had to make sure about what name to have the tickets booked under. I called NSO hotline, DFA,  and Embassy of Greece where I am applying for my visa.

Basically it takes anywhere from 2-6 months to get the NSO copy of your marriage contract. It depends on how long the local civil registry takes to turnover to NSO for processing. BTW DFA, and any Schengen issuing  embassy/consulate will only honor official  NSO copy of the marriage cert. So the certified true copy from the local registry will not do.

For this reason, I was advised by the Greek Embassy to use my single name and follow whatever name will be on my valid passport at the time of visa application and travel.

Thanks girls! So siguro will apply for visa using my maiden name. Just wanted to prove sana our marriage so i can leverage on fiance's multiple visas since he goes to Europe almost every year recently. Guess not.

Yeah thats the best thing to do right now. In my case nga I still use my maiden name on my passport since we got married for almost 8 years. Maybe just to lazy to change or maybe i just really lve my last name haha.

How do I know kung available na sa NSO yung marriage certificate namin? I have to get my UMID soon kaso they don't accept the CTC from the local registry, it has to be NSO copy daw.

same question, when ko malaman if available na [textspeak!] marriage certificate namin? ok lang kaya tawagan hotline nila? pero sa nababasa ko 3months nga daw process yung marriage certificate yun naba pinakamabilis nila? may need pa din bang baguhin sa birth certificate ko? kasi yung original copy ng birthcertificate ko kinuha nung taga munisipyo nung ng apply kami for marriage certificate.

15. If I request for the birth certificate of my son who was born three weeks ago, will it be processed on a regular schedule?
No, processing of your request will take an additional ten to fifteen (10–15) working days after receipt of payment, and you would most likely be issued a certification (negative) instead of the birth certificate you are requesting.
Please understand that it may take several months after the date of birth/marriage/death before the birth/marriage/death certificate is received, verified and converted into digital format by the NSO. Therefore kindly allow:
• at least two (2) to four (4) months after the date of birth/marriage/death, if the birth/marriage/death occurred within Metro Manila
• at least six (6) months after the date of birth/marriage/death, if the birth/marriage/death occurred outside Metro Manila
before filing your request for a copy of the document.

Hi mga sis! Question lang. Wala ako mapagtanungan ng bumabagabag sakin.
Yung form na pinirmahan natin 4 times nung wedding pati ng mga ninong ninang.. diba nakalagay names ng bride and groom. Yung name ba ng bride dun ay dapat last name na ng groom ang gamit ko?

Hindi ko na kasi nacheck yun. Basta pumirma na lang ako. Pero parang maiden name pa rin nakalagay. Iniinsist ng mga officemates kong guys na sure daw sila na dapat last name na ni hubby ang nakalagay sa name ko dun. At yun ang ipapasa sa NSO..

Really sis? May ibang process pa ba ng pagpapachange ng last name sa NSO? Kasi may sinasabi yung officemates ko na yung mga asawa daw nila pinapili pa daw kung ano gagamitin:
Name M.I. Hubby's Surname or
Name M.I. Maiden - Hubby's Surname
Saan at kelan mangyayari yun? Nagpanic tuloy ako

^maiden name yun sis. Nung nagbigay kami ng marriage license sa church, kinonfirm ko din yan, sabi nila maiden name dapat. Nagamit ko na din yung marriage certificate namin sa pagchange name ng IDs ko like driver's license, UMID. Wala naman problema. Sa mga IDs ko na yan last name na ni husband ang gamit ko.

^actually optional nga yung pagchange into your husband's last name eh. Pwedeng pwede mo pa din gamitin maiden name mo sa legal documents kahit married ka na. Yung pipili ka ng last name kung sa husband mo or kung hyphenated.. Hmm option mo din yun kung ano ipapalagay mo sa IDs mo.
