@Lianne@TheWiseLiving annual na Maxilink Prime. If advance magbayad, how will Sunlife know na pang top up or premium? Via BPI online kasi ako magbabayad. And ano advantage if advance magbayad?

If may ibang memebers here na alam ang sagot sa question ko, please reply na rin. :)

Thanks!

Hi sis.

For example, annual premium mo for Jan 2013 to Jan 2014 is P30,000, and you already deposited P30,000 nung Jan 2013, any amount excess of P30,000 until Jan 2014 is considered your top-up. Your top-up is subject to 5% premium charge.

Personally, I'd suggest na you deposit on time sa first few years and then do top-up after 10 years (if you got Sun Maxilink Prime.). This way, you won't be confused na about the charges scheme.

^ginawa ko to last year. Advanced my payment kasi bagsak stock market so gusto ko ma-take advantage so that maraming mabiling stock market units kasi nga mababa presyo.

Ang consequence nito is an admin fee or charge na 5% nung premium mo.

Hi sis. How were you able to compute yung possibleng kikitain ng VUL mo?

@Lianne@TheWiseLiving, I based it on how my plan was doing at that time...I think naka-10% gain siya last year. So I modestly pegged it at about 6-8% growth na lang, if ever. eh the 5% charge naman is so much lower dun sa more or less 6-8% na kikitain nung plan within the span of time considering the prices of stocks then. So parang bawing bawi pa din ako. Kaya go lang sa pag-top up for us nun.

Naisip ko din, If I waited out to pay ng 2014 (due ko is March every yr)...nasasayang yung time plus the low prices previously na dapat sana naka-ride on yun plan ko.

Question lang po regarding sunlife smarter life elite, yung endowment diba upto age 100 ibibigay, yun po bang naipon na cash value let say natapos ko ng bayadan yung 10 years yung cash value po ba ehh hindi magagalaw yun? at insured parin po ba yung policy holder kahit na  tapos ng bayadan yung 10 years? TIA :)

IMO, endowment is the most expensive type of insurance plan.

Tapos may cash guarantee siya every two years. So aside from this, anong benefit ba nito?

no sis. hindi ko alam kung kelan meeting ng FAMI pero i'm already withdrawing my mutual fund sa kanila. i've never been to any of their annual meetings kasi laging late na dumating yung invitation.

yung sunlife, shempre different company, different annual meeting. sa Dusit Thani hotel daw gaganapin and hindi na ko nakapag RSVP so next year na lang siguro hehe. wala din kasi akong idea kung anong mapapala ko dun since info about our mutual fund can be found online naman di ba?

FAMI performs better than Sunlife...

^ ah yun lang ba sis? :) sige next time i'll try.

yung FAMI namin unfortunately parang hindi kami satisfied. for 2 years kahit malaki na nalagay namin, wala pang 10k ang inangat :( yung equity kinuha namin dun same with sunlife MF. mas nagustuhan ni hubby yung performance ng sunlife on our part.

^same here.

The funny thing is, back before the crash of 2008,
FAMI was a star performer.
And even during the crash of 2008, it endured.

And just look at the numbers.

Sunlife's Equity Fund started in 2000.
NAV is at 3.8

Whereas FAMI started in 2005, a whole
5 years behind Sunlife and yet its NAV
is at 5.18.

If you had invested with FAMI you'd be
ahead by 36% compared to someone
who invested with Sunlife and that's
even after investing 5 years later.

But recently, FAMI's performance hasn't
been as a good. Maybe the fund manager
who initially guided FAMI to such heights
is no longer there.

^No, hindi tama yun. Wala ka naman "dapat" gawin. Nasa sayo yan kung ano gusto mo kunin. Pwede insurance muna bago investment. Pwede the other way around, and pwede din sabay. Kanya-kanyang strategy.
