Since my baby is turning 1 soon, I’ve been researching for the next milk after Promil gold. Then I came across this article about fresh milk.

http://www.chroniclesofanursingmom.com/2009/08/formula-milk-for-toddlers.html

At ngayong nabasa ko pa tong thread na to, I will definitely switch her to fresh milk.

Di ba ang fresh milk 3-4 days (or 5 days) after opening dapat ma-consume na? Yong 1 liter pack ilang araw nauubos ng babies nyo? Do you prefer smaller tetra pack or bigger one?

I tried switching my daughter to fresh milk several times (different brands also) but I failed. She doesn't like the taste of fresh milk. :(

What's the difference between nestle fresh milk na nasa carton and nestle full cream milk in bottle (also has other flavors available like melon and choco).  I noticed that the fresh milk in carton has a longer expiry than the one in bottle which has variants full cream milk, melon milk, and choco. But both kinds expire in about 4 days when opened.  Does this mean na mas fresh yung nasa bottle even the ones with flavor?  Mas gusto kasi ng toddler ko ang nestle full cream milk in bottle than the ones in carton.

Usually ang mga nasa Tetrapack one year ang expiry diba, then dapat consume siya 4days from date of opening, whereas ang nasa bote expiry date is 5 to 7days lang from manufactured date.  So between the two, ano ang mas okay ibigay? Yung nasa tetrapack or nasa bote?

Kulang pa daw sa nutrients ang fresh milk, wait daw until she's two.

^ Actually by 1 year old onwards, your child should be getting most of his nutrients from solid food, not from milk.

^^^^^ avpoohlar, yung milk na nasa bottle and nasa refrigerated section ng grocery is pasteurized while yung nasa carton i UHT (ultra high temperature) processed kaya mas matagal expiry ng nasa carton. Yung pasteurized is heated to kill harmful bacteria but not to the point na sterile siya and tatagal ng taon. Mas masarap talaga yung nasa bottle kasi may lasa pa siya na fresh and uncooked. That's why I'm not surprised na mas gusto ni baby mo yung nakabottle :)

^thanks for that infor sis MaitaOfMakeupOnDemand.  So which one do you prefer most better kaya, UHT or pasteurized?

Nye, halos pareho tayo ng question sis at seconds lang yata pagitan ng post natin ;D, but for me naman, mas malasa ang nasa cartoon than milks na nasa bottle.

^ you're welcome sis marssie! But the  best way to determine which to buy (aside from taste preference) is kung gaano kalakas ang consumption niyo ng milk. If mabilis ang family sa milk, no problem sa pasteurized kasi you can finish it before it expires.

thanks for the info sis MaitaOfMakeupOnDemand  :)

do you think considered healthy pa rin yung pasteurized milk in bottle with flavors such as choco and melon milk, considering the flavoring and added sugar they have?  how high kaya ang sugar content nila compared to powdered milk?  Are they considered healthier than the powdered formula milk or pareha lang because of the sugar content? Sometimes nauubusan kasi ng full cream milk in bottle sa grocery, so I end up buying the melon milk variant which my son loves better than the full cream milk.

I am thinking of doing this but knowing me pedia he may be against this, given his traditional approach. And also if my budget can handle it. =)

^^ Hi sis! Sabi nila mas maganda kung hindi sweetened with sugar ang milk kasi hindi maganda yung too much sugar for kids. Pero sa akin naman, if talagang the child won't drink the milk with no sugar and wala na siyang intake, pano na di ba?

Hi! I have a 20 month old son, started drinking at 16 months. My inlaws wants my son to drink formula milk para lumobo daw tulad ng isang apo. On my part, i believe there's nothing wrong with his built, baka ito na kasi talaga ang built niya, kailangan ba mataba ang bata? he is healthy, very rare magkasakit, so ano problema dun? my son still drinks feeds on breastmilk almost 90%. he doesn't eat much solids, ayaw niya ng rice. hindi ko na muna pinipilit kasi baka matrauma lang. dati nga wala kahit pancit at ulam, ngayon he eats those na, pero tipong lumpiang shanghai, lechon kawali, basta crispy na ulam. he loves sopas so much. he snacks on his favorite crackers and biscuits palagi. at the same time, drinks fresh milk as his "juice". umalis ako yesterday, naiwan son ko sa inlaws ko with his daddy. Daddy bought him Nestle Fresh Milk Hi-calcium. He only drinks fresh milk as "juice", hindi pa as dahil gutom sya and he wants milk. but yesterday, since wala ako, he drank it first before his nap. nag lunch naman din sya ng sopas prior to that.

I started introducing fresh milk to my son when he was 13months old, he's now 15 months.  Fresh milk during daytime when I'm at work, then direct feeding from me at night

I just make sure he eats well when I'm away - pine-prepare ko na food nya the night before, or minsan good for 2 days na.

. My inlaws wants my son to drink formula milk.

Hi sis, honestly, my son is still drinking formula, pero I am against what your in laws wanted. as long as your son is healthy, hindi sakitin at masigla you should not bother having him drink formula. Ako naman i wanted to transition him to fresh milk din. I am actually admiring you na breastfed sya, so wag ka magalala. You are on the right path.
