SUV (Montero) for a first car? help!

I’m planning to buy my first car this year. I’m still learning how to drive. Mahihirapan ba ako kung SUV agad ang i-drive ko compared to a sedan? or advantage ang malaki dahil matuto ako agad or mas ok ang maliit like  honda jazz or Toyota Yaris for a first car?

Hmm...for me parang masyadong "Heavy" ang Montero for first car, "heavy" financially and can be more difficult at times.

Heavy financially, sa cashout and maintenance (maintenance checkup,  every 2-3 years palit ng gulong na malaki (around 80K-100K for the 4 wheels estimate lang), etc...)

more difficult compared sa sedan or compact SUV lalo na sa parking and maneuvering.

Why not try looking at compact SUV na lang, either Tucson or Sportage. Yun dream ko next car after Vios but may not materialize as we may need a bigger one if my family grows pa

If you can afford it then go for it, the car, full tank gas and maintenance. Parehas lang naman i-drive and Sedan at SUV but mas advantageous sa babae ang SUV coz mataas, panlaban sa baha at di ka masyado maiilang sa mga trucks na makakasabay mo. Just make sure to have it tinted para di halata na girl ang nagmamaneho.

Ang risk lang nyan, sabi daw takaw carnap but then risk applies naman to every car.

@SoFiaMAri Thanks sis. That’s what  some of my friends told me. Mas ok ang SUV,as in lahat ng sinabi mo sis ganun din opinion nila.

thanks sis…you’re right too. but halos same price [textspeak!] kasi ng montero at mga compact SUV’s. hubby has a sedan na. nag aaway pa mga kids sa space sa likod, when one wants to lie down to sleep hehe…)

Ay meron na pala sedan si hubby, yup i think its time for your family to get a not-compact SUV. I rode a new Strada last week, ganda ng interior, mataas and hindi maingay ang makina for a diesel, e same lang naman halos sila ng Montero. So go go sis. Oo nga...ang compact SUV and etong Montero halos same lang price so mas practical to go for Montero. I've also been reading topgear site, meron dun mga reviews ng SUV, head to head sila minsan with others. Pwede mo din abangan ang lalabas na Sta. Fe, pero matagal pa ata un, late this year or next year na. Maganda review nun doon.
