Sabi ng officemate ko, every two weeks need mo bumalik for them to take blood samples. Yun lang ang mahirap na
ikaw ang maghahanap ng ingedients. :(

hindi po very 2 weeks ang blood test. ingredients are very available sa supermarket. nahihirapan lang sya siguro magsource ng yogurt at biscuit. medyo mahal nga lang din ang food kahit sabihin mong natural.

the diet plan will work ata for the rest of your life....kase yung ate ko, nagcheat din sya so she gained a few pounds, but after taking the diet seriously again, ayun in 2 days wala na ulit yung nagain nyang pounds. wala pa sya sa refeeding phase.

si judy ann santos yan ang gamit, kaya makikita mo sya minsan mataba tas biglang papayat.

once you got your diet plan, after a month tsaka ka babalik ng center for the weigh in.

the diet plan consist of the allowed foods and their equivalent weight.

Been struggling to lose the remaining 5 kilos na gusto kong mawala since like forever. Tried every possible exercise, diet, pills and on and off sa herbalife and usana but i can't seem to reach my target weight. It maybe due to  the fact that i'm in my 30's na rin and losing weight isn't that easy anymore di katulad nung nasa 20's ako na di lang ako kumain ng rice for 3 days, pumapayat agad ako. I even almost died when i resorted to some pills na nauso nun (that was really scary). I stumbled upon this online shop which introduced this slimming tea and since i'm also having trouble with my kidneys dahil na rin siguro sa carelessness sa kakainom ng kung ano-ano, nahirapan akong umihi ng madami which made me bloat at some point, i bought it not because of it's slimming properties but i just want to use it as a diuretic supplement. I wasn't expecting much from it, gusto ko lang talagang bumalik yung dating pag-urinate ko ng madami but it's efficacy surprised me. I even lost 3 kilos in 2 weeks time. I don't know lang if the weight will come back pag tumugil na sa pag-inom nito just like those others i've tied which made me gain back the weight when i get off from it but hopefully it won't.

^Hindi ba water weight lang ang tinitira pag shake lang?  I mean, mababawasan ka habang nag shashake ka but when you stop and you go back to your usual diet, you will bloat even more?  Kasi I have seen people doing shakes pero nag yo-yo diet nila which means, only water weight was lost.  Fats and others were not burned.

^Nope sis.  For instance, their (one week or one month program), if shake lang iniinum, the nutrients that you get are incomplete.

With cohen diet, you get all the nutrients because they only tell you what's bad in your diet that's why it works.  Ultimately, cohen diet refers to diet designed per individual frame, which means, cohen tells you the food that you have to avoid because those are the ones contributing to your "gain".  You still get the balanced meal your body needs.

With shakes, are all the nutrients present there like protein, enough carbs, enough sugar, enough salt, and all necessary nutrients?

Kasi if nutrients are not present and we just claim that these shakes are "less than 1,200 calories", we're just shedding off water weight and the fat is just intact.  When we stand on the scale, the pounds that we lost are actually water instead of fats so we are tricked that we lost weight but then again, we will notice once we stopped these shakes (or juices), we go back to our usual frame, sometimes even twice of what we lost.

What I do is I juice all my fruits and veggies to get their nutrients then I still eat fish and milk to get my proteins and fibers that I don't get in juicing just to have a balanced diet.  I am not into cohen.

Basically, my question lies if these shakes are our go, grow, glow meal (balanced diet).  Lessening of nutrients from our balanced diet will take a toll on our health eventually and may cause defects like cancer.

I am just basing my statement on facts regarding balanced meal replacement (shakes) and other diets.

Sis, I think what makes the shake complete is when you add foods in it. You dont take it as the powder itself lang (but some people do it), but rather as i've said people add other recipes in it. They actually encourage their standard recipe which is powder + bananas + oatmeal + milk. So all in all, you dont just take 80kcal, this is around 300cals i guess (I use fitnesspal) Ako besides that, I add protein powder or some other powders to make it complete like hemp rice protein, spirulina, maca powder, chia seeds, etc which I all buy from the superfoodgrocer. In 2 months, i was able to lose 10kgs which is not bad as a result of diet and exercise. :) As a nurse naman, it's is known that in every exercise and diet, the first thing you lose during the first month are water weight. A doctor has discussed this to us, though i cant remember na the details.  :) Im not bias ha, cause im not using the brand anymore. I've already maintained my healthy weight so im back to my normal (with all the foods) eating now. Hope this helps!

For everyone who wants to have super nutrients to their juices and smoothies, you can try buying these power powders at thesuperfoodgrocer and thehealthygrocer. Online shop both :)

Ah, sa wakas. Sa tinagal-tagal ko dito sa Girltalk makakapagpost na din ako about weight loss. Mind you, I've always been on the round side, and lalong grumabe after college. Believe me when I say I've tried everything out there save for liposuction. Hopefully makatulong ang post na 'to to those who feel that they are fighting a losing battle.

Some facts about me -

As of Feb. 2013 - overweight by 60 pounds
Weight lost from Feb 2013 to date: 35 pounds and still dropping
Age: 32 years old

In general, here's what I've been doing:

1. I don't skip breakfast.
2. I drink 8 glasses of water a day.
3. I limit myself to 1400 - 1600 calories a day. Sunday is a cheat day when I eat to my heart's content.
4. I drink coffee and green tea minus the additives like creamer and too much sugar.
5. I make sure that I've already eaten three hours before bedtime.
6. I snack in between breakfast, lunch and dinner - just small snacks to keep my metabolism going and to keep me from overeating during the main meals.
7. I eat anything I want, but majority of my meals include fish, chicken, fruits, vegetables, yogurt, and spices.
8. I take vitamins C and E.

If you'll notice, nowhere in my list did I include the NOs like no rice, no bread, no pasta, no sweets, blah blah blah. I am now kinder to myself and I don't treat this weight loss goal as a death sentence but something that I'm willing to do for one year. I noticed that the slower I lost the weight, the more I was able to keep it off even if there are times when I overeat. And that's one more thing, I eat what I want when I want. There are times I spend my calories wisely and there are times when I squander it eating more guilty-pleasure food. My target for losing the weight is to become healthy, and not to become a fashion model, so I'm taking my time. This is after I've realized that where before I can lose weight quickly, ang bilis naman bumalik.

You'll also notice that I did not give too much emphasis on exercise. That's because, hindi ba totoo na when you exercise so hard mas lalo kang nagugutom and hindi makapagtimpi kumain after? I love walking around where I work/live so I do a lot of light walking and sometimes I'll swim once a week, but that's about it. I'll do it when I want and for as long or as short as I want and whenever I want but that's it. Pagdating sa pagiging active, kanya kanyang diskarte yan and of course we need to be active but if your exercise is causing you to eat more and hindi pa kaya magtimpi, then wag muna ipilit ang extreme exercising. Work up to it gradually and listen to your body. After all, most often than not, when we are overweight, the root cause is the food intake, so isa isa lang. Ayusin ang food intake and the rest will follow. Let's also remember that the weight loss industry will try to convince us that the only way to lose weight is to exercise heavily and take these diet foods and supplements so let's take all the advertisements for those gym memberships and new diets and new diet pills with a grain of salt.

If you're serious about dieting, then you know that there seems to be two golden rules that will keep cropping up: 1. limit sugar, 2. limit salt. And I agree, but why cut them out so rapidly? You're only setting yourself up for a backlash. What I did was everyday, binawasan ko pakonti konti untiil my palate adjusted. I noticed na adjusted na ko when I found potato chips to be too salty na, and most cakes and donuts I find too sweet na. Now I don't crave them as much. Though every Sunday I have them nevertheless and it feels and tastes good.  8)

The point is to be kind to yourself and look at the long term. Why keep on doing the crash diets if time and again you just fall off the wagon? Why not set aside a year or two to let the weight loss hold? Even just a 2-pound weight loss a month will equate to 24 pounds lost if done for a year.

Me, I still have a long way to go. My target is to reach my goal weight by end January 2014. What I really appreciated about my body is that I am 32 years old, an age when our metabolism is already slowing down, and yet my body is cooperating and giving me results. Every day that I weigh I see my weight budging by a point something something sa digital scale. Predictably, when I'm about to get my period, I seem to bloat and gain weight by 5 pounds. But after my period, poof! It's gone. :D

So ewan ko lang if nakatulong ang post ko kasi wala naman akong great secret na na-reveal. But apparently (for me, at least) the secret is that there is NO secret. Just do things gradually, eat in moderation, be kind to yourself and set realistic goals.

And sa mga younger sisses na mahilig mag-crash diet, ay please lang, sana wag na. You're not doing yourselves and your body any favors. Not to mention ang stretchmarks na dala ng rapid weight yo-yo na dios ko, hanggang ngayon walang lunas. Take it from someone who's been trying to lose weight for a decade.

Happy dieting and weight loss to all!!!

:)

^sis tequila i super agree sa lahat ng sinabi mo!! Mejo same tayo sa mga ginagawa natin.. Pero ako since nocturnal ako, i wake up around 10am onwards.. I drink muna 2 glasses of water.. Then for breakfast, i'll have green apple and nesvita or yakult.. For lunch, well i don't always eat rice, very minsan na lang hehe ang dami ko cheat days actually.. Pero i love snacking on fruits, yogurt, nuts, basically anything from healthy options (love that place) i take 1000 mg of Vit C daily.. I go to gym kapag may time, not always, busy bee.. I don't always get to walk/exercise, swim lang pag may time haha

Sometimes i have chips, pero donuts, ice cream, cake, no more cravings na.. Pag dadaan nga ako sa mga jco, deadma talaga, unlike before pipila pa ako :) i stopped ordering frappes na, lagi na lang fresh juices hehe sodas, bihira na din talaga pag mejo nainitan lang..

But i'm a meat person kasi.. I love steaks and korean bbq! :) wala lang rice, minsan 5 kutsara max :D

Midnight snack varies from green apples, kiwi, grapefruit, orange, sige na nga chocolates and chips minsan lang.. I drink green tea (twinings) every night before going to sleep.. and another glass of water :) i was 108-112 this year lang.. Target ko was 100lbs lang.. maintaining weight ko now, 96-98lbs haha i'm 5'3 :)

yes, it's effective. you just need patience in logging all your intakes.. in my case, tamad ako :D pero i used to do that so i have an idea na how much do i consume kasi paulit ulit lang naman kinakain ko hehe..

wag sumabay sa taong maganang kumain :)

i used to be 48kg before. then i had this housemate, she's chubby and has a good appetite. di ko namamalayan, nahahawa na din ako sa pagkagana niya sa pagkain. I put on a lot of weight. I'm now 55 kg. Sad. I'm struggling to lose the excess weight. I'm 5 feet lang kaya desperada na talaga ako or else magmumukha na akong bola.

Wow! relate na relate ako dito! Haha.. May ganyan din akong kasama. Kalaunan tumaba ako, tas sya pumyat naman. So un fair.
