Anyone maintaining after the Cohen Diet?
« Reply #562 on: June 14, 2013, 12:06:22 am »
Hello! Newbie here. I've been in other forums but it's somehow better when you talk to people in the same country.

I've recently finished the program and I've been in maintenance. Takot pa rin ako to eat new food and other stuff. I was just wondering if any of you our there are in maintenance land! How long have you been on maintenance? Have you gained? How much? What caused the weight gain, specific food? Do you exercise? What's a typical 3 day menu for you guys? Naghahanap lang ako ng karamay na pinay din! Have you gone back to eating Filipino food? I miss it so much but realized most of it is not really Cohen friendly food.  :-\ Hope to hear back from you guys!

hi everyone. would like to ask the Cohenites in Manila where is it best (price-wise, quality-wise) to buy the supplements (biotin, chromium, zinc, etc) for my husband who's on day 15 of the diet?  mercury, healthy options, or gnc? he's already lost 17 lbs so far and we really want to support him and cheer him on all the way.

thanks!

@mom.of.d.tresmarias i buy mine at GNC. although some multivitamins are readily available in Mercury Drug, i find the ones from GNC works well for me. but it really depends on your hubby's preference...

Relatively a newbie here, I actually forgot that I've already registered in GT.

I've finished my EP and RF last February and I've been on maintenance for almost 5 months. Maintenance is much harder than EP. I've managed to stay within my GW, except during weekends. I do EP during weekdays and when I'm at home during weekends.

@mom.of.d.tresmarias
I buy my Biotin and Chromium Picolinate from Healthy Options. I still take Biotin since I'm still suffering from hairfall and Chromium Picolinate when I do EP Reset. For the Biotin, get the Solgar brand.

If you take Mosvit, I don't think you have to take additional iron and zinc supplements if I'm not mistaken.

Hi Mesmer_eyes, yes I enrolled through the online program. I'm on my 2nd week and so far lost 4 kilos. thank you for the links, I will read it. When are you planning to enroll? It would be nice to have a Dubai Cohen buddy... :)

I'm curious to know the experience of mga nag Cohen na dati, to find out if it worked and if they were able to maintain the weight loss. thanks!

Anarvs, di pa ko maka commit eh.. kasi i workout regularly and quite intensely..  ang unang reply sa kin nung nag register online e kung willing daw ba ko to reduce drastically ang pag eexercise, pag mag commit daw ako, tsaka ibigay kung ano yung kelangan para sa blood test, dun pa lang di na ko nakasagot.. :D i really like working out kasi e.. and i really like eating too! haha un lang! i still have at least 10kg to lose, kaya lang ako na cucurious mag cohen, kasi pag nakikita ko mga results, tanggal taba talaga e.. :D payatola effect.. nakaka challenge.. pero everytime na iisipin ko na i freeze ang gym membership ko.. nyahhhhh.... adik lang..

keep updating us on your progress th0.. and good luck!!

Hello Cohenites! I decided to enroll na finally and Im waiting kung accepted ako or hindi. But my blood test results are good, i mean really good, sa lakas ko sa chocolates (think 2 kitkat 4 fingers, in less than 5mins), I thought I will have a problem with my sugar, but no.. thank God :)

I think Im a bit different sa mga nag Cohen na, kasi ako, I love exercise! Actually, Im over training na for the past 6months sabi ng trainor ko sa gym kasi Im doing 8hrs a week na halos and mga 3-hrs nyan e is about weighlifting, to top this off, I make sure I do at least 8K steps a day (using a wrist pedometer), I reach about 10-12K on a good day and 15K on a great day.

pero Im still stuck at 75kg.. kasi super super poor nutrition.. I lost a total of 25kgs for about a year and a half, just by working out-hard! and I love it.. I lift, I box, I do circuits and bootcamps, pero siempre mabigat pa rin ang katawan ko compared sa time na na put in ko na sa gym, lawit dila pa rin ako after ng mga strenous exercises na yan, but I can finish. And my muscle mass is really good :)) super happy ako dito, my bum looks actually better than 7yrs ago, sa lahat ng squats with heavy weights na pinag gagagawa ko :D.. Marami lang talagang taba all over pa.

Kaya lang, my nutrition, talaga, sobrang sablay. I dont cook! Lahat pa deliver and I live on junk food. Kaya na nag decide na akong i-correct ito, nakaka frustrate na kasi, ang tigas ng ulo ko, ang tamad!

So Im giving myself time off the gym (scary to sa kin, I really feel so guilty pag di nakaka gym) 3months maximum. Sapilitan ng turuan ang sarili to love cooking for myself..

Mejo iba kasi ang goal ko e, I want to be LEAN & TONED, not payatot. I figured, to achieve this, I need to do these:

1) Reduce to Gain --- Doing the Cohen Diet (2-3months incl refeed)
2) Rebuild -- 3 months (adapting the Zone diet - 30% protein 40% carb 30% fat)
3)Achieve --maintenance

Hay ang haba ng post na to, may blog ako na na start ko na, to track this progress. My journey is different, but the start is the same as all of you- via Cohen. Im just waiting for an email from the online Cohen diet program..

Cheers ladies!
