Hi! Siguro much better if humingi ka ng advise from Pedia kahit sa health center lang diyan sa inyo. Nung sa baby ko niresetahan kasi kami from our health center na parang water lang tapos nebulize para matunaw yung phlegm. Hinde siya nagreseta ng mga gamot kasi ang bata pa nga daw. Much better consult a doctor. Mahirap mag-self medicate kasi hinde natin alam kung makakatulong ba ito or much worse makakasama pala sa baby natin.

Per experience with my kids, salinase will only loosen the mucus inside the nose. But since babies do not how to blow their nose yet, nandoon pa din siya sa loob. So dapat after using saline solutions, you should also aspirate the mucus inside.

^Yup kase even with adults naman kapag hinde naglo-loosen ang mucus masakit sa ulo. My daughter has cough and colds now too and we nebulize her regularly para mag-loosen ang mucus and phlegm. I also give her oregano extract kesa medicines. She sort of knows how to blow her nose na pero kulang pa din so we still suction it. The other day, she was complaining that her head was painful daw and was asking me to massage it.

baby ko din biglang nagkasipon at ubo kawawa naman nagigising siya pag nauubo  sabi ng pedia salinase at ambroxol daw ang ibigay kay baby. matagal ba bago mawala ang ubo't sipon ng babies?

^depende sis. give baby lots of fluids para ma-loosen ang phlegm niya. If your instinct tells you to bring baby in for consultation, do it. Mahirap ng ma-pneumonia.

galing na kami ng pedia nung friday sis. sabi wala naman daw phlegm sa nung chineck siya so most probably daw mga 3-5 days lang yun. akala ko kaya nagkasipon at ubo si baby dahil sa ice cream na kinain nila ng papa niya, pero sabi ng pedia mukhang nahawa daw si baby sa may sipon. eh wala naman may sipon sa house..

ok na baby ko sis, wala na siyang ubo. tapos yung sipon niya parang nanigas na ata, naging booger na lang (ganon ba yun? hehe) kaya ayun na lang tinatanggal namin ng cotton buds.

ok naman si pedia. actually, bagong palit lang yan kasi yung pedia dati ni baby ang hirap hagilapin in case of emergency. laging naka-off ang fone pagdating ng gabi

my baby had a slight bout with colds but she was 5 months na. my pedia did not prescribe any medication. instead mag breastfeed lang daw ako ng breastfeed kasi liquid yun (parang water therapy). within 24 hours, na-resolve naman agad.

,y 6 month old has a cold she won't let us aspirate. I did steam therapy in our bathroom and put giga baby cold rub on her back and chest. Im hoping that will work, she's having a hard time drinking anything due to her clogged nose. I am asking my brotherto bring the humidifier from my mom's house

^My baby was never happy to be aspirated too. Kaya literal talaga na we would hold her down, meron nakahawak sa feet and arms. Kawawa pero kelangan My daughter has colds now, ayan sinasabe ko na nga ba, mahahawa yan sa yaya nyang matigas ang ulo kaya naiirita ko. Hopefully maagapan.

^what aspirator do you use? I have the pigeon one that you suck but its hard to use with a flailing baby

^That's what we used too kase mas controlled yung pag-aspirate compared to bulb types. It's very difficult talaga kaya kelangan talaga namin ng mga assistants. Now we dont use it anymore cus my daughter knows how to blow her nose na.

^that's what we use. My kids' Pedia and ENT said that it is better than the bulb type. Same experience with twelvth_goddess. My kids never liked aspiration too. At least 3 people needs to do this. Did your Pedia recommend any sprays to help loosen the mucus so easier ang aspiration?

We have salinase on hand since she was a newborn. My daughter has a tendency to develop hardened boogers so we always have salinase.

As with the aspirators, she cries so much that i think it kinda defeats the purpose, her crying creates more mucus! Ill try again maybe when she's calmer.

Thank goodness she is sleeping now, seems like the steam therapy and cold rub worked. I was reading the ingredients of cold rub and it has menthol pala where can i buy baby vicks locally?

^Actually pag umiiyak, it makes it easier to suck on the mucus kase mas naglo-loosen sya.

^ah ok! I didn't know that, I'll definitely put up with the struggle then if needed  but I think the steam therapy and cold rub worked! I did it again before her bedtime along with salinase and turned on the humidifier for 2 hours. She's slept peacefully since 6:30!

how do you do the steam theraPy?  could you suggest a good humidifier?  Yung Pigeon na suction aspirator na hindi bulb type meron kaya sa infants section ng SM?

my baby is 12weeks old and second time na nya mgkasipon and ubo. ayoko na sya bigyan ng Disudrin kasi milder case naman na ito, but kawawa pa rin pag naririnig ko yung breathing nya saka pag nahihirapan dumede.  Salinase drops lang so far ang ginawa ko.
