sis mamichula, when you test after two hours tapos mataas and then you walk it off, nagte-test ka ulit to check if bumaba na ulit? ako di ko na inuulit if mataas readings.

Hi sis Toscka! I test kasi 1 hour after meals. And yes I do that I'll walk tapos I'll check again kung anung effect nya just to make sure na my body's still responding to my 10 minute walks.

Baka you can ask your endo about it? Try mo kaya isang beses just to see kung kaya ng walk pababain your sugar. Be careful lang ah ask your OB first kung ilang minutes ka pwede maglakad.

Ako kasi sinabi ko sa endo ko what I ate kaya tumaas one time (umabot 191) tapos I explained to her na I walked para bumaba. Actually I list down the foods din tlg para may record ako kung anung nakakapagpataas, and then I list down kung nag walk ako after nung meal na yun para I can discuss with my endo.

Yan din sis advice sakin, parang every 2 hrs eat. Kaso pag na over sa gutom, minsan hindi ko macontrol yun amount... Hay... Anyway 10-11weeks to go.

^ Yeah hirap magpigil  are you having twins ba? Baka kaya mas malakas your appetite kasi 2 sila konting tiis nalang  ..

Have u tried drinking lotsa water? It kinda helps as in after subo ng food I drink water para I'll feel full agad.  Tapos tumatayo na ako sa dining table para hindi na ako matempt to get more food hahaaha

Hirap lang when you're outside sarap kumain sa labas

Yes sis puro water ako kaso no effect e, un meal plan kO 1 hr lang tinatagal. Siguro nga dahil twins, likot sila pag dami ako eat hehe

Sa fri mag hbA1c ako and another fasting lab test plus 2 hr after meal lab test and urinalysis then balik sa endo. Siguro hindi kO na need mag insulin [textspeak!] if pasado naman ako sa home test.

^ Baka nga kasi they're twins kaya they need more food Wala bang consideration na ganun na mas madami ka pwede eat kasi twins?

Sis 1900 calories ang bigay sakin, just 200-300 additional ata. Kaso hindi pa din enough e haha. 77 fasting pinaka lowest ko.

^Wow ang baba ng 77  Sabi ng OB ko when she saw my 80 + reading "totoo ba to" pero naka smile sya I guess she's happy na I can still control my sugar. Show your endo that 77 reading para she won't put you on insulin na 

Baka naman you can dagdag more food kasi ang limit ng OB sakin after 1 hour dapat lang wag lalagpas ng 120-140 after 2 hours I can't go beyond 120.

Have you tried na sugar free ice creams? I'm addicted to ice cream kasi eh. I tried BTIC no sugar added wala nga syang sugar and just now I tried Arcee Dairy Sugar free Dark Choco ice cream, after 1 hour of eating 1 cup my reading was 97 lang hehe wala lang shinare ko lang baka kasi may nagccrave ng ice cream here. Although I'd have to check with my endo if I'm allowed tlg to eat sugar free stuff baka kasi bawal din the artificial sugars.

Thanks sis sa tips re ice cream. Im addicted to that nga, i think it contributes sa pag taas ng sugar ko. Today's blood test walang lumagpas sa 100 kahit kumain ako ng spaghetti na sweet style. Feel ko madami na un serving ko kaso gutom pa din after an hr. sa carbs nalang ako naglimit, sa ulam kung ano kaya ko yun yun eat ko. Nag hamburger din ako kanina. Sana ok din result sa lab test ko this friday.

Cant wait to try those sugar free ice cream, pop corn etc

hi mga sis ask lang sana ako on how to check your blood sugar ... for example u eat lunch at 12:30pm .. then ive finished my lunch at 12:45pm... sabi sa akin ng ob ko  check it after 2 hours ... does it mean 2:30pm .. or 2:45pm   ... do u walk after eating ? read it here na nakkababa ng blood sugar .. a couple of minutes of walking ... thnx in advance

^ Actually ako din I got confused kung [textspeak!] one hour computation ba fromt he time I started eating or after. Pero ang ginagawa ko nalang [textspeak!] after para macount [textspeak!] buong meal ko

ako rin after meals I walk it off. napansin ko kasi na nakakababa ng blood sugar when you do light activities kahit naparami ako ng kain. I stay away from carbs as much as possible and tuwing lunch lang ako nagri-rice half pa and combination pa ng white and brown rice. Pag wala akong activity after meals dun tumataas ang sugar ko even if I eat less. The only good thing about my readings is my fasting BS is laging below 90. Yun nga lang, I just had my check up today with my ob. Ok lang ang weight gain ko and weight gain ni baby. The problem is nagkaron ako ng polyhydramnios (too much amniotic fluid) which is usually ang reason is if you have too much blood sugar. So sa check up ko sa endoc ko sa monday, I'll mention this to him and I think ire-require na nya talaga akong mag-insulin.

^ Im sorry to hear about the excess fluid. But I'm sure maagapan pa yan kasi you've been checking naman your sugar eh and mukang recent lang dumami your fluid? Before this check up ba when was the last time they checked your amniotic fluid?

What could have caused it kaya ? Kung mababa your readings bakit nagka extra fluid? How was your after meal readings ba?

My OB told me they check the fluid kung madami ibig sabihin nag wee wee ng extra si baby kasi medjo mataas ang sugar. If its affecting baby na I think taking insulin isn't so bad kung para naman kay baby atleast maagapan pa. Sabi din ng OB ko okay nga din daw mag insulin if the sugar's affecting the baby na kasi iwas complications.

tama sis mamichula. dati takot akong mag insulin pero pag iniisip ko na baka magkaron ng effect kay baby, gora na. tutal naman almost 1 1/2 months to go na lang lalabas na si baby. These past few days kasi talagang tumataas readings ko. Napapadami kasi kain ko eh. Super gutom talaga ako. Mababa nga ang readings pero mahilo-hilo naman ako. And if this insulin is the only way para mag-normalize ang amniotic fluid ko, so be it.  at least maco-control ko ang diabetes ko.

Tonight im going to visit my endo again para isubmit un lab result ko and un result ng home test ko. I hope ok lahat sa lab test ko today. So far 1 bagsak lang ako sa 1week home test. Napadami kasi hehe sana no insulin for me kasi kung kailan buntis ako mas nasasaktan ako sa mga injection na yan.

Bakit kaya umabot ng 200+ yun ogtt ko pero sa home test ko naman 126 na pinakataas... Last time nag coke zero ako, burger and fries, konting milk tea, and mongolian rice na sweet and spicy. 120 un result.

Sa ogtt ba naka depende para malaman if diabetic or not?

^ Parang mataas ang 108, sister.  Text mo your OB.  Baka you need to see your endo ASAP.

@toscka, mas nakakatakot ang risks associated with gestational diabetes like pre-term labor or underweight baby, kesa mag-inject ng insulin.

^actually nakita na ni ob yung result ko. sabi lang niya dapat 92 max lang yun fasting sugar. pa alaga ako sa endo kung gusto ko para hindi matuloy sa diabetes. hindi naman siya na alarm sa result. so di rin ako masyado nagworry.

My OgTT's like that din May 199 ako na value 1 hour after drinking the 100g glucose drink. Pero at home hindi naman tumataas, save for that one time I ate 1 small fruit yogurt na non fat umabot ng 190+.

Im back! My lab test results are all normal 4.9 un hba1c ko. No glucose din sa urine except me ketone. Baka daw super tagal yun fasting ko kaya nag add si doc ng milk after dinner. After 3 weeks na uli and 3x a day na home test. Inalis yun after breakfast. After 3 weeks lab test again... Waaa ang sakit e parang ayaw ko na mag ganun.

^Congratulamations!! haha Ang baba your hba1c u know that's your sugar average for 3 months? So I think its much more important kesa sa OGTT.

Mine's 5.3 ang limit daw pag pregnant till 6 according to my endo. What are ketones? Okay lang yan lab tests ulit atleast di kana mag tutusok ng needles sa house hehe

Really? ako din minsan lumalagpas ako ng 10 hours sa fasting sa umaga. Pero endo told me to stop checking na my fasting sugars so I stopped na. Hmmm ibig sabihin its not thaat important kahit mataas ang fasting glucose basta mababa hba1c?
