jahjah19, meron pa din akong mga kilala na successful applicant. But again, IT industry. Paisa-isa lang ang kilala ko.

nocturnalgal, me and my friends were discussing this HK option nga din. Siya din personally may kakilala na nag move from Pinas to HK. She was told na napakalakas ng competition sa HK. Very competitive sila doon kaya she felt there's only a slight chance for career advancement. But if I were given the opportunity to work there with the same perks as SG, I'd probably grab it. If and only if mawalan ako ng work dito sa SG. But gaya ng pinoy sa hawker, I'd stay until they kick me out hahaha Nagpapasalamat lang ako sa residency sa SG and sa permanent contract ko with the company.

Hello mga sissies, well nice to hear ang mga stories from SG na may mga okay ang employment sadness namin dun sa mga failed job hunting.  Just recently, we have an applicant galing SG, hindi daw siya nakakuha ng pass (not sure if epass or spass) kaya ayan nag a apply samin. mga 3 months yata siya sa SG. I dont know if she accepted the JO.  Sa mga returnees, isipin nio na lang meron pa din naman kayong babalikan dito sa pinas, just demand whaterver perks that you think you deserve.

^I think the word you're looking for is negotiate. I don't think you'll be giving a good impression if you start demanding things from any potential employer when they have yet to see what you can offer to their company

^Actually sis, sis mhitchy is right.  If we are not in the F&B field, we still have some options in Manila.  Yun nga lang, only lower in salary.

In my case, I have received offers here in SG (I'm in IT btw) pero if my computation tells me that I can earn the same in Manila if I remove my HDB rental, then nag iinarte ako not to accept it. he he he.  In my mind, if i'll get homesick, I don't want it because of poor pay.  I want my homesick to be paid.  Kasi sa Manila, I don't have to pay for rent and we have helper to prepare lunch / dinner for me and do my laundry.  Whereas dito sa SG, the only perks I have is the enjoyment of luxury kaya I chose to stay because the pay is good.  If I won't have it then I'm better off in Manila where my family and friends are.

That's what I tell my colleagues who took the small pay.

Kaya for those who want to pursue a career here, compute for a salary ceiling, hanggang dito lang ang willing ako ibargain na salary. 

Hindi porke't mababa, tatanggapin nyo na kasi in the long run, you still have to pay for utilities here, which is not by the way cheap.  Baka mas malaki pa ang kita nyo sa pinas.

^What I meant is the choice of word..demand. Don't demand naman, it's too much. Negotiate or as what you have said, bargain. Talk your way into getting the salary you think you deserve.

pa join, well my hubby is interested working in Sg we are both working here in dubai, but sad to say matumal ang work nang IT dito kaya naman gusto ni hubby mag try sa SG. Do you have any idea if magiging ok ang job hunt niya (hindi pa siya nagreresign at nag start na siya mag submit online lang muna) web developer siya and he knows system programming.

ano kaya sa tingin niyo po? TIA

^Hindi ako makakapag bigay ng assurance that your husband will be able to get a job given the current situation na bubble burst na ang pag accept nila ng foreign talents. But since web developer ang husband mo with system programming experience, malaki ang chance niya na makakuha ng job Try niyo lang muna mag submit ng CV online and see if it attracts any Employers

Hi Mgs Sis, share ko lang yung nangyari sa pinsan ng friend ko. Ingat tayo sa mga agency.
If you happened to read the news regarding dun sa mga nahulihan ng fake na pass. Its really true and we confirm na agency ang may pakana ng ganito.
Yung pinsan ng friend ko was hired by the agency, the thing is she paid for 3600 SGD parang placement, which is very suspicious na to begin with.
Nung collection na ng Pass nya, one of the agency's staff accompanied her pero feeling namin effect lang nila yun para magmukhang tunay ang PASS na ibibigay sa employee.
Then nakapag start naman ng work si victim. Since she needs to rent a room binigay nya yung FIN nya sa land lady then the land lady confirmed with MOM or ICA, not sure where.
Ayun! nalaman fake ang PASS nya then wala pa daw 15 minutes nadampot na sya and was detained sa ICA for 24 hours.
Kawawa coz her passport was stamped na di na ever pwede magpunta ng SG and was advised to leave SG within 24 hours.
Eto pa masaklap, nung itinawag sa agency yung issue to verify ni deny daw sya. Tapos sa PH Embassy wala din nagawa, ni air fare walang nabigay? Grabedad as in!
Sabi PH Embassy icheck kaso nya pag balik nya ng Pinas. Asa pa ba tayo dun?

Anyways, sa mga job hunters, please be super careful. Wag patulan yung mga agency na kelangan magbayad lalo na kung ganun kalaki at nandito ka naman na sa Singapore.
Second alamin ang pagprocess ng pagkuha ng PASS, dahil personal na kinikuha yun, at iveverify sa passport mo.  Good luck and ingat!

^Sis,  hindi lang ipost ang name ng agency dahil marami rin nagkalat.  Basta maging aware na:

1.  Epass is collected at the Ministry of Manpower collection department PERSONALLY.  Hindi binibigay ng agency ang pass   
    Di ito pwede ibigay ng agency sa inyo.  If they gave you your own pass, isumbong agad sa MOM, illegal yun.
2.  They will ask for payment agad agad.  Most reputed agencies are bawas sa sweldo.
3.  If they are not registered sa POEA if based sa PH ang agency.

well alam naman nating lahat na ang Filipino gagawin lahat para lang makapag work sa ibang bansa o hindi naman basta mabigyan lang natin nang magandang buhay ang ating family at makatulong sa ating parents. Kaya naman tinetake advantage tayo. mag ingat nalang mga sissies or laging magchecheck sa mga website nang mismong govt like poea list of agencies na naka register sa kanila. usually registered sila dati pero napaso or basta minsan wala na sila sa list mismo.

I feel so sad for the victim, naloko na, nawalan ng pera, nagkaron pa ng bad record. 

Kaya reminder satin, regardless of the country you wish to apply in do your research so that at the very least you're armed with information para di basta basta naloloko.

Just an update... Good thing naki cooperate yung company ng victim. So ica made an investigation and then found out na may isa pang pass holder na fake on that agency.
Binawi din ng ICA yung bad record nya. Then the company will hire her directly na. Wala ng agency. Pero she needs to Go back home muna for her safety din as per ICA's advice.
Malamang makukulong yung may ari ng agency at mawalan ng license forever.

may nagooffer sakin na phil agency ng job sa sg.  legit naman sya i checked sa poea, and pinacheck ko rin sa contact namin sa poea kasi parents ko nagdidirect hire ng filipino employees for their company sa malaysia. anyway, Retail Executive ang job (saleslady). e-pass ang ibibigay nila kapag admu,dlsu or benilde graduate ka. then sa dorm titira (mandatory--for the safety daw since mostly fresh grads na babae kinukuha nila). 3,000 SGD and monthly salary pero may placement fee na 100,000php sa agency plus 2months salary na mapupunta sa partner agency nila sa SG. then payment sa dorm, etc. salary deduction naman for 6months.  2yrs and contract. hindi namin tinanggap ng friends ko, not because ayaw namin sa job. nanghihinayang kasi kami sa ikakaltas samin, nungnagcompute kami lumalabas for 6months 950SGD makukuha namin dahil sa salary deductions. after 6months pa lang namin makukuha ng buo yung 3000SGD/month. pero yung ibang schoolmates namin nandun na, mahirap daw pero kaya naman work 10hrs/day tapos once a week lang dayoff, bawal weekends and holidays syempre dun dagsa ang tao

^S$3000 talaga? May iba din kasi ako kakilala as retail executive pero di umaabot ng ganyan ang sweldo. And true, meron sila dorm, tapos may bayad din naman, minimal lang naman pero mga 6 or more daw sa room.

^^I admire yung company na nag-hire sa pinsan mo. At least cooperative sila and its good to know na binawi ng ICA ang bad record ng cousin mo. Dun naman sa may-ari ng agency, sana forever na nga sya mawalan ng lisensya at makulong forever! Sana mabawi din ng cousin mo ang lahat ng binayad nya sa agency at makakuha pa sya ng danyos, nakakatrauma kaya ang ganun!
