I agree super hirap na ngayon kumuha ng work. yung mga kakilala ko na gusting lumipat eh hindi makalipat coz konti lang ang interview and salary is not good.

yung mga baguhan naman hirap din dahil sa pass. dapat talaga niche job ka na walang local makakagawa para the possibility to land on that job is higher.

in a brighter side naman meron ding nakakaland ng job and na rerenew ng pass so case to case basis pa rin.

Just an update, I got a new job here in SG now.  Permanent sya but assignment is in Tampines.  I just feel blessed kasi at least I am secured once again at mas mataas ng konti sa dating work.  After signing the job offer, I can now collect my Epass card.  Thank God, kahit konti nlang ang opportunities, meron pa rin na ibigay si Lord.  I really thought, its about time na umuwi na ako ng pinas.

Mga sisses ko dito sa SG.  Share ko lang:

Since I got a job and it will be for a year, I got myself a medical / hospitalization insurance.  Why?  I know somebody who had an accident here in SG and the bill totaled to almost PHP 3M.  Kaya me and my friends gave, yun nga lang, S$50 each to help on the hospitalization.  They also sought help from PH embassy but I dunno if they were able to help with the bill.  Kaya ngayon, they are slowly paying off that huge medical bill by working here in SG again.  Pero hindi naman kataasan ang sweldo lalo na admin job.  This got me and my other friend scared, that's why we got ourselves our own insurance via AXA.  I fear na maubos yung savings ko, in the event of that thing strikes.  Kaya ang advice ko lang is to get insured.  I think, there's a S$24 a month for the lowest possible insurance pero gov't hospital which is okay since dito naman sa SG, ok ang quality ng treatment (although for me, the best pa rin ang doctors sa pinas due to wide experience sa sakit).  Dito sa SG bihira ang mga sakit kaya wala gaano experience for me ang mga doctors dito unlike sa pinas, makita lang symptoms, alam na alam na agad ang cause and treatment.

Since we know na malaki laki rin ang savings natin dito sa SG, but the medical expenses here are really ridiculously expensive.  Hindi kaya ng health card (S$30 na consultation fee sa clinics) in case of you know emergency.  Just my two cents.

Insurance talaga is a must. Okay lang kung ang sakit mo i lagnat - sipon pero if kailangan ng confinement or as you mentioned mga accidents, dapat talaga insured ka.

Mga pinoy lang daw ang nag se-save para sa mga sakit sakit or possible hospital bills. we are not that educated kasi pagdating sa insurance. since monthly ang bawas we think na dagdag expense ito pero in the long run, ito actually ang protection mo.

And for me, in finding a job, healthcare plan is part of the deal. if we have that option to work with the employer malaking bagay talaga sya.

pinkpotato and xtine, agree ako sa insurance. Like what happened to my husband last year. He needed an emergency operation for his gall bladder removal. Ang quote ng Raffles Hospital for the surgery (surgery pa lang) ay 18k SGD! Naloka ako. 10k SGD lang ang coverage ng company nila per surgery. Plus around 2k SGD max na macocover ng medisave. So kulang pa kami ng 6k SGD. Mabuti nakayanan ng husband ko mag fly sa pinas. We spent 250k pesos doon (all in na pati meds, doctor's fees for 4 or 5 doctors ata). Mabuti lang din na international coverage ang insurance plan ng company ni husband kaya sobra pa ang 10kSGD nila.

Ganon din sa son ko na naconfine na dito sa SG twice when he was younger. Raffles and Gleneagles naman siya. Sulit na sulit ang insurance coverage din sa company namin. Pero on top of that kumuha pa kami sa AIA ng additional coverage for personal hospitalization na naka tie up din sa medisave namin para hindi na ako naglalabas ng pera pambayad sa premium.

anybody knows how much an auditor's salary is here in SG? I have a cousin who want to apply here in SG but having experienced the quality and cost of living here parang hindi talaga sulit din pala unless antaas talaga ng sweldo mo.

^auditor ng ano sis? you can check jobstreet meron silang graph ng salary rate ng kada profession. might help. at bago nya isipin sahod try nya muna mag apply kasi sa hirap maghanap ng work na dito, baka mahirapan din sya makapasok.

pero i think kahit di gaano kataas sahod ng isang empleyado, if marunong lang magtipid, mas makakapag ipon dito ng mabilis compared sa pinas.

Alam ko sis mababa ang sweldo ng auditor sa pinas.  Just take a look at Glassdoor.  or type in google "Singapore salary auditor".  Marami naman ako infairness nakita sa google.

maykee, roughly around $1.8k to $2.5k for a Junior Position with experience ito. Accounting Auditor ba? Meron din kasi na IT Auditor.

Nagpapart-time kasi ako sa isang headhunter company kapag off ko. 2 months ago mga accountant (including auditor) ang hinahanap namin. Pero purely S/SPR lang. And may mga levels din pala ang auditor. Meron junior, senior, assistant, manager, etc. Highest sweldo na naoffer for Senior Auditor was $5.5k.

baka sa junior lang qualified ang cousin. two years pa lang ang experience nya.
kung magbedspace siguro siya baka makaipon nga rin siya.

anyway another question. do you keep/invest your savings here or in the Philippines.
nagdadalawang isip ako kung kukunin ko yung savings ko sa Pinas or just leave it there.

Can anyone recommend a good dentist?
I may need to have my wisdom tooth removed here

I know it's way cheaper sa Pinas pero hindi recommended to fly immediately after yung surgery and I can't afford a long break from work (plus I can't bear the thought of being home, surrounded with Pinoy food, tapos di ako makakain, my goodness).

I'm not comfortable kasi with the dentists I've visited. And I was quoted more than 1k SGD per tooth pa; not sure if yun na ang norm now.
