haha akala ko ako lang minalas sa office. eto kasing opismate namin madalas overseas. naka-3 months na ko nung dumating sya. @sis mavhy, magandang idea nga yung orange a. sakto cny. makapagdala ng 1 basket. haha 

@sis jamberryknots, kumakapit nga yung amoy ano. tipong kahit nakaalis na e parang 10-15mins bago magkaroon ng sariwang hangin ;P

naalala ko nakikipagchikahan ako dun sa isang pinoy, sabi ko, yey aalis uli yung may amoy. fresh air na uli. prob lang after nun e maninibago uli yung ilong ko. sabi ba naman, dapat magpaiwan ako ng tshirt para maamoy ko habang wala sya. yuuck! haha

Pang SG residents (workers, PR and citizen) thread kasi to hindi queries about finding work here.  This thread is about living in Singapore.

Hi xtine, I'm not a job hunter, I was just curious because a lot of my friends are in SG and I wanted to express that curiosity in this thread so I could have that understanding how life in SG is.

^Ah.  In this case, I do not know about our other sisses.  But I find life here more relaxed.  Pag nagcocommute, hindi hassle.  I live within city area kaya everything is within my reach.  10 minutes sa chinatown, sa lucky plaza, marina bay sands.  And the salary is quite reasonable.  Mas nakakaipon ako dito kesa sa Pilipinas. 

Also, we have a very low tax rate here in SG.  If you are earning Annual gross of 40,000 - 3%, if until 80,000 - 4%.  Unlike sa pinas, 32% halos ang kaltas sa sweldo.

Mahal ang rent for me coz I only have rented out one room pero dahil tama lang sa cost of living ko yung sweldo.  I find staying here more convenient.  Minsan pa nga, family k nlang ang dinadala ko dito kasi marunong na sila magcommute dito.  Unlike sa pinas, since I do not know how to drive, na stress ako kumuha ng taxi lalo na ang magcommute!

Dagdag ko lang na ok ang customer service dito.  Bihira yung times na sasakit ang ulo mo.  Unlike sa pinas, sakit na sakit ako sa ulo sa pakikipagusap sa Globe, Smartbro, PLDT, etc. 

Dati pa ako pinipirata ng SG, around 2007 pa.  Pero last year ko lang narealize, bakit hindi pa ako lumipat dati.  Edi mas malaki sana ipon ko. 

Mga GT here in SG, kindly share your experience.  Baka may nakaligtaan ako.

^^and there are many flights to Pinas.  So mas malapit umuwi kung nahohomesick or for long weekends.

That's nice to hear.  Kaya pala one of our cousins can go home most of the weekends back to the PH. Maganda nga raw jan, cost of living may be high pero sulit naman daw. Now a part of my curiosity has been answered, even when I was back reading the whole thread.

ang isa pang ok dito e yung feeling super safe ka. pag sa atin kasi mag-coach bag ka, iphone etc. naku nakakatakot. parang mitsa ng buhay mo pag ganun. feeling mo lagi kang ma-snatchan, ma-holdap etc. or baka praning lang ako. hehe.

saka kahit gabihin ka sa pag-uwi, safe pa din maglakad lakad pauwi. di ka matatakot ma-kidnap or kung ano.

mababa kasi yung crime rate. saka kahit saan may cctv. pero syempre, low crime doesn't mean no crime so dapat alert pa din kahit papano.

mas madali din dito tumawid ng kalsada. tuwing umuuwi ako ng pinas, hirap na ako tumawid. natatakot na ako ;P

^Nowadays uso na rin ang pickpocket dito kaya ingat ingat na rin mga girls...

^^in fairness mura ang mga imported fruits nga dito specially berries, pomegranate, peach etc. Ang medyo mahal dito is beef. for good quality beef sa Cold Storage pa kailangan bumili but quite pricey tho.

hello po sissies, anong mare-recommend nyong brand at saan yung super sale? we'll be in SG sa weekend. with hubby and his partners. pero baka ako lang mag-isa ang maglalakad lakad. hehe! saan kaya pwede mag shop na okay? thank you! :-)

^Marami ngayon pero kalat kalat.  Yung ibang items ng uniqlo (any branch) may sale.   Actually just walk along orchard (Ion, isetan, tangs, takashimaya) marami good finds.

But if outlet:
1.  Anchorpoint (Alexandra - right across Ikea)
2.  Changi point mall (Expo MRT)

Try Takashimaya now, they have sports apparel on sale after CNY!  Running shoes are on sale as well.
Then after your delightful shopping you can go to my highly recommended "Paul's bakery" to get Paul's hot choco, it will only cost you 7sgd. A cup tastes heavenly delicious!

mga sis, how much cheapest rent ng place dyan sa SG, good for 2-4 persons sana?

meron din akong katabi ng table na office mate ko na hindi kanais nais ang amoy naku pumupwesto ako as far away as possible ayoko lan minsan pag nakikipagusap yun todo lumapit haha tsaka yung chair ko pinangalanan ko na kasi napansin ko kumakapit ang amoy nila sa chairs

sis i had the same issue before. antagal kong tiniis talaga pero it was unfair for me and for him kasi everytime nanjan na sya and nag eexpress ng amoy nya naiinis na ako sa kanya imbis sa smell nya. hahaha. kawawa naman ang tao so i talked to our MD, sorry pa ako ng sorry kasi nga nakakahiya pero masakit talaga ulo ko parang ayaw ko na lang huminga.

buti na lang my MD understood at naamoy nya din daw. haha. so ayun i suggested to be transferred sa other side but told him na kapag nagtanong ang iba, just tell business related, china wall or anything kasi ayoko naman maoffend.

after few years, parang nagbago na sya. di na syado maamoy. hahaha. good for him.

i'm new here and 8 years in SG na. life here is good for us. from bf gf, ditto na kinasal and ditto na rin nagkababy. sa mga taong gusting magtry sa SG be sure na you have work experience because very slim ang chance if you are a fresh graduate. eventhough everybody is telling me that SG is expensive, di naman yan sa taas ng sahod kundi sa taas mag-ipon

sa medical field like nursing, balita ko nga na through agency lahat because nung na nganak ako sa Thomsons puros pinay ang mga nurse doon and naka-usap ko sila na lahat sila from agency. even my other nursing friends are through agency. wala pa akong narinig na may diret hire.

hi sisses long time lurker here. Just need a little advice. I got my epass approval yesterday.  nagbasabasa ako ng threads and nakita ko na kailangan ng owwa/poea membership kapag oneway ticket ko. makakapagapply ba ko dito kung ang hawak ko lang ay IPA and offer letter? advisable pa ba na magtourist na lang muna ako (book a return ticket) and ipakita yung accommodation ko aa immigration dito then IPA sa immigration sa sg? My flight is on june 25 pala. sana may makasagot and pasensya na if my ganito ng question sa lumang threads. Tia!

^When I started here in singapore, I just flew here as tourist.  Pero naka roundtrip ticket na ako just in case the IO will look for it.  Medyo matagal ang processing ng OWWA / POEA pag dyan ka mag apply.  I suggest dito ka nlang sa SG at kalahating araw lang at most ang application mo.  Problem with or OWWA / POEA there in Manila, kalaban mo is lahat ng OFW ng buong mundo kaya matagal.  So I suggest you come here as tourist then dito mo nlang sya iprocess.
