Fresh at Solaire

The name is a misnomer because not all the seafood is fresh.  My husband had a terrible bum stomach for two days after eating the lobster and crabs last Sunday.  I was spared because I did not eat those two (I ate only the prawns) since I am allergic.

Dinner buffet - forget the dimsum (the blogs are correct in this aspect) because it's sub-par; I liked the dessert (love the crème brulee and tiramisu plus the ice cream), antipasti and moussaka;  I did not enjoy the roast beef because it was too pink; they do Filipino food well because the lechon was crispy and the adobo looked yummy (didn't taste though because I was too full); the sushi selection is quite limited

Breakfast buffet - the tapa was really good but there was no garlic rice (only Chinese fried rice, Korean rice and Indian rice); there was a variety of sausages but did not look that appetizing to me; my kids liked the bacon; coffee is good here

The waitstaff are attentive and friendly to children.  The buffet selections could use some improvement considering the price (dinner at P2,600, breakfast at P1,100 but free if you booked a room).

I had the lunch buffet at New World Hotel's Café 1228.  The selection is pretty compact but I like all the dishes I chose.  The salmon sashimi is so fresh it is almost like silk to the tongue.  The prawns are big and fresh and you can also ask the chef to sauté it with butter.  I also like the prosciutto, Black Forest ham, cheeses, tempura and the prime rib.  The California roll is huge! The tiramisu is also yummy.  I had no space in my tummy for the Chinese and Filipino selection.  Next time.

The layout of the buffet is similar to Heat's but Café 1228 is way better than Heat (I was disappointed with our lunch there sometime before Father's Day) or Fresh (which was not fresh at all, see my post below).

just tried cafe ilang ilang's end-of-day buffet today. their end-of-day buffet starts at 930pm and it's priced at 1k only. downside is, late na ang dinner mo then you have to be content with what's left over. anyway, we're satisfied naman when we left at 11pm. yun nga lang, till now I'm still having hot tea here at home para lang bumaba ang mga kinain ko. talk about gluttony haay.

Hi! We were able to try Circles buffet in Makati shangrila, so pricey pero kokonti choices. Masaya lang talaga ko kasi sa seafood station nila.

Agree with marose17 about New World's Cafe 1228. Sulit lalo na pag may BDO card. Yung BDO promo of 50% off kasama dinner pag weekends.

If you want something light, try Discovery Primea's salad lunch buffet at Tapenade for around Php600++.  It's very filling.  There are plenty of dressings to choose from.  I love the cheese board.  There are oysters too for those who like it (I don't).  And there's smoked salmon, prosciutto and other cold cuts.  Very good ambience too.

sis marose17 > me too I ate at Fresh Solaire, thinking it's all fresh so I ate seafood just 2pcs of small shrimp then boom when I arrived home hives to the max and sobrang allergy I really could sue them that time!!
