Hi! Which is better? Corniche (Diamond Hotel) or in Marriott Cafe? We are planning to have our buffet this coming friday, lunch

^ok naman sa Heat, quality selections. may seafood especially lobsters, rib eye, chinese and some indian food, japanase, the usual pasta and pizza. sarap din desserts nila. i like na may taho, it's one of my favorites.

Was at spiral last thurs for dinner buffet. Since we're four, got 25% discount using the accor advantage plus, well not bad considering it was my treat. I feasted on grilled lobsters but I didn't like the baked oysters one bit. Can't compare with cafe ilang ilang's or circles or with via mare's oyster Rockefeller which I really loved.

Btw, there's an ongoing deal at 50% for sofitel's sunset bar buffet pala.

My husband and i had lunch at 7 Corners on our anniversary. The spread wasn't that much but it's ok cus I dont like big overwhelming buffets dahil hinde ko nakakainan lahat. I loved their steak. Big juicy tender slices, yun ang talagang sinulit ko plus their pasta and dessert station.

douxmadchen: I find Heat a little too overrated, hehe. Mabubusog ka naman, sa dami ng choices, so it's not BAD, but I think there are better, more well-thought of, buffets in the metro.

My fiance and I recently tried Mandarin's Paseo Uno. The dishes were good, but we found the buffet stations a bit bitin. Their dimsum section had very limited choices and the siomai that we did get, we didn't much like. I did like their Japanese station, and their desserts station. The steak was ok, not that outstanding, but my fiance did like their lamb. Their beef dishes were also tasty. We also enjoyed the cheeses, soups and salads, altho their salad station could be improved a bit more pa.  I liked it overall, because whatever they lacked, they made up for it by what they did have. We also appreciated the ambience. Not super gulo and not hard to maneuver your way through, like other hotel buffets.

here are my hotel buffet reviews:

Cafe Jeepney walang kwenta when we went there sinarahan kami ng hindi man lang kami sinabihan as in nakita na lang namin nakataob na yung mga trays. Better pa ang Yakimix   But their cake is so delicious nagpa member ako dati dito and free cake ang sarap!

Discovery Suites - oks naman ang food but that special don't look for steaks, peking duck, foie grass etc etc basta simple lang but lahat masarap and take note everyday almost the same ang food.

Spiral - wide selection but same with the others hindi lahat masarap yung chinese food section nila masarap.  I remember my son told the waitress pati ito alisin mo na kasi hindi masarap.

Circles- maganda lang pero hindi ako talaga nasarapan sa mga food. super mahal pa

I would like to try Cafe Ilang Ilang kaya lang parang wala naman discount ever

^if you're a holder of manila hotel's prestige card or if you have a bdo titanium, gold, platinum MasterCard, then you're entitled to a 50% discount off your bill at cafe ilang ilang sis. around 1250+ din yun as the regular rate is 2500+.

On a different note, foie gras of spiral is really good and also their escargot borguignon at their French station (which is manned by a woman French chef). I just didn't get to try their ratatouille and some other chicken dishes. Their cheese selection is to die for and I must say the spiral of today is way much better than the spiral pre-renovation.

Ate at cafe ilang-ilang at the manila hotel recently. So far not bad yung selection nila kahit na mas konti ang choices than spiral. When I was there, they served lobster which I don't remember being served the last time I was there. Must-try yung mushroom risotto nila and fresh yung seafood including the oysters.

tried Li Li's Dimsum Buffet at Hyatt Manila. i love the Asparaguas/Seaweed dumpling, the fresh steamed scallop dumpling and the buchi with white belgian chocolate filling!

Among hotel buffets, favorite ko now ang Spectrum ng Fairmont. Limited selection, but everything I had was great.

^ Their rates are: Breakfast 1,450 net, Lunch 1,675 net, Dinner 1,995 net, Sunday Brunch 2,777 net, and Sunday Champagne Brunch 3,888 net.

I've only dined at Spectrum (Fairmont Hotel) during a weekday lunch, and I was already quite impressed. Have yet to try their dinner and Sunday brunch offerings though.

We were satisfied with Escolta's Sunday Brunch buffet today. My mom said she liked the taste of the food there compared to 7 Corners and Circles.

My favorites: smoked salmon, chicken terrine, baked salmon with saffron sauce, prawn cocktail, porkloin with apple stuffing and the rib eye was better this time.  The seafood paella and callos were not so good.  I love the dessert selection here especially the home-made ice cream and mini-cakes.  The cappuccino is the best of all hotel buffet restaurants. 

My mom loved the cheese spread. Hubby said that the seafood selection was
superb.

Service is topnotch.  I really love the Peninsula's service.

We loved Hyatt's market cafe. All food are good.

BAD comments: parking is not that ok. Parking  is confusing , inask kami if may parking ticket o wala e pwedeng meron pala at pwedeng wala.
