Good and Affordable Buffet in Metro Manila Hotels Thread 2

^we went there on a weekday lunch, Tuesday if I remember correctly. not sure lang if the buffet line-up was complete (parang walang lamb, but okay lang with us kasi we're avoiding red meat) that day, but we had a great time kasi there wasn't a huge crowd. the lunch crowd consisted mostly of people na mukhang nagwworking lunch, or nagmmeeting while having lunch hehe... so walang siksikan sa buffet area, and hindi maingay/crowded

^they have quite considerably improved sis. i didn't like their buffet spread last year. but maybe because there are so many feedbacks na, they improved their spread this year and ok pa ang service.

Diamond Hotel's Corniche is okay. Super yummy si Peking duck.

We tried a lot of hotel buffets. Mahilig kasi kami kumain talaga.

Spiral - maraming choices pero hindi lahat masarap. The best for me ang cold cuts nila, cheese selection and dessert.

Marriott Cafe - masarap ang brunch nila. We didn't liked their Sunday dinner dahil ang konti sobra ng food.

Circles - medyo marami tulad sa brunch sa Marriott. I especially love their iced tea section at yung ice cream nila.

Heat - we tried this kanina lang, masarap! Mas masarap than Circles. We will definitely go back here.

Dusit (Basix and Umu) - ok lang. Kung mahilig kayo sa Japanese food, masarap dito pero yung Basix nila so-so lang at effort ha, malayo ang lalakarin para makapunta sa kanila at sa drinks section.

Manila Peninsula (Escolta) - nakapag-breakfast ako dito. Hindi ko nagustuhan yung food. Na-turned off pa ko sa sardines nila haha Ilang weeks din ako di nakakain ng sardines nun ha.

We wanted to try Mandarin's Paseo Uno. Yun ang next namin pupuntahan.

regarding circles buffet, are they really strict about the discount card?---name on it should also be dining with guest/s? if i pay in cash, di na ba hihingi ng identification dun sa cardholder?

This is tricky kasi may server na hinihingi yung ID, meron naman hindi. In our case, hindi hinihingi ID namin pero kasi yung card holder which is my dad, kasama talaga namin siya kumain. I guess, kung ma-tyempuhan niyo yung hindi hihingi ng ID then cash ibabayad niyo, pwede kayo maka-hiram sa iba ng card.

Mga sis, would you have any idea kung allowed sa Spiral na makigamit ng Accor card ng ibang tao? May kakilala kasi ako na may Accor card, but I won't be dining with her. Though August 2012 pa naman magoopen ang Spiral.

^Nakakalusot yang pahiram ng Accor card. Some of the servers don't usually check pero may iilan na strict. Dati kasi I used my card plus my dad's and brother's card. Ang tagal ng usapan namin nung server kasi ayaw ako payagan na gamitin yung 2 since iba daw ang signature pero bumigay din naman hehe

My family had dinner at Crowne Plaza's Seven Corners to celebrate my twins' birthday.  There is no charge for kids 5 and below.

While the spread may not be as expansive as the buffet in other hotels, I do believe sulit ito.  I love their rib eye steak (I had two servings), salmon sashimi and home-made ice cream.  My kids loved the pasta (I asked for arrabiatta sauce sans the chili flakes), noodle soup and the ice cream.  My husband feasted on the oysters, prawns, salmon sashimi and crabs.  Walang smoked salmon though and in its place was smoked tanigue.  During our previous dinners here, may smoked salmon palagi, favorite ko pa naman ito.

i have read the whole 1st & 2nd thread, ang konti ng review sa HEAT; it's my husbands favorite!

may one year na rin akong hindi naka.kain dito pero i've been there 2-3 times i think and their quality has always been consistent naman. good number of selections with very good quality. good rin ang dessert (favorite part of the meal ko)

circles is good too pero not very much with dessert or i guess unconsciously naco.compare ko lang sa iba. overall good quality and quantity as well.

dusit thani basix (not crossover) - natikman ko ata lahat ng cake slices nila LOL. gusto ko bumalik dito just for that actually.

gusto ko po sana itanung mga sissies, saan hotel pa kaya may peking duck? i did take note yung isang post sa itaas, pero saan pa kaya meron? kasi nagtatanung ako sa mga restaurants (not hotels) na nadadaanan ko lately pero kung dati may peking duck sila, as of now wala raw dahil may bird flu. TY sa magre.reply. happy munch.ing sa lahat

I agree, mas nagustuhan namin ang Heat than Circles kahit ilang beses na kami nag-Circles and once palang sa Heat.

Hyatt's Market Cafe is very good! lahat masarap!

If you are a fan of fois gras with steak, go on friday and saturday.  Limited yung food nila during sunday. 

Iba yung food pag dealgrocer.  I bought vouchers for hyatt and went there with friends.  The steak was so matigas.  Striploin ata ang gamit.

Pano yun sis kung matigas yung steak for deal grocer pano yung mga regular paying customers na andun? di ba sila nagreklamo? 

I want to buy pa naman nung Discovery Suites Lunch buffet from Deal grocer.
