Gusto ko rin yung may hyphen na version. Unique din kasi yung aking maiden surname. It also happens na parehong maiksi lang surnames namin. Though wala pa rin ako napapabago sa mga records ko since sort of secret wedding yung nangyari sa amin and wala pa rin kami NSO copy of the hehe

^sa company namin, yung HR na nag-ayos for SSS, BIR, Philhealth, Pag-ibig, healthcard. yung sa company e-mail, updated agad pagkabalik ko from honeymoon kasi si hubby ang IT sa office eh. hehe! pero working pa rin naman yung old office e-mail address ko.

di ko pa rin naaasikaso yung sa bank accounts. pati yung driver's and PRC license, saka na lang din pag kelangan na i-renew. yung passport ko din maiden name pa, kaka-renew lang kasi before the wedding. kaya di ko pa rin mapa-palitan yung company id ko. yun kasi pinapakita ko pag nag-t-travel para consistent sa passport ko.

when we were born, our full name was firstname then mother's maiden name then father's last name.  iyon ang official na first, middle and last. in my case, Arianna Rivero Factor. so that's what got recorded when we emigrated sa states noong 1980.  i was married in 1984 (hubster's last  name is ABELA) then got my citizenship in 1985.  in the post interview for citizenship i was told to start using my new married name so it was changed to Arianna Rivero Abela.  when i asked to keep my maiden name Factor as my new middle name, i was told it cannot be just changed to that without a hearing in front of a judge.  and i was like, forget it, that's too much hassle.

so that's how i got to keep my mom's maiden name still part of my full name.

^ Thanks for sharing that, that's what I want to do too because it makes more sense to me to keep my current middle name as is and only change my maiden last name to my husband's last name. But hindi yun kasi ang tradition dito sa atin sa Pinas and hassle naman dito if you don't change your middle name after marriage.

I just decided to do it the traditional way. Kasi nga, wow, hassle.

Ngayon palang ako nagpa change ng last sa company namin. Yung traditional way ang ginawa ko para less hassle. Hehe. Sunod ko yung SSS, Philhealth at BIR tapos Pag-ibig. Hassle talaga to! Hehe.

I got married 2 years ago, and I'm still a college student. nung una namomroblema ako kung sa school records ko pinapalitan ko dapat ng apelyido kong bago. madali lang naman siguro yung proseso, pero na-realize ko na wala pang family member ko ang UP graduate so binayaan ko na lang na maiden name ko gamit ko sa school. Pero the rest of my government-issued IDs lahat married name ko na even bank accounts. nung nag-apply ako for Korean Visa last year, natakot nga ko baka di makapasa kasi student visa yon and student records ko iba surname sa passport ko. Ok naman, wala palang issue. ngayon jobhunting mode na ko in a few months, ayos na siguro kasi pati SSS ko married name na.

wala pa akong ID with my new family name since 1 month pa lang akong married and hindi pa nare-release marriage contract namin. Pero dito sa office, when signing memos, requests, or reports, i use na my husbands last name as my last name na din.

I still use my maiden name. We were married sa civil court last 10/10/12. My in laws are "hinting" na gusto nila gamitin ko na ang surename ni hubby but marami pa kasi ako inaasikaso in terms of my citizenship etc kaya i am retaining my maiden name for now. saka ko na papalitan lahat kapag may time akong tawagan lahat ng kailangan tawagan para papalitan ang pangalan ko sa records nila. pati fb ko nasa maiden name ko pa rin. hehe.. ndi naman pinupush ni hubby ang issue so okay lang.

Finally, after 10 months, napaiba ko na rin ang driver's license at passport ko. So in almost all my transactions, married name na talaga ang consistently ginagamit ko.

i plan to hyphenate my husband's surname to my maiden surname. if we have kids, pano yung name nila? middle name is my surname and their surname is my husbands?

Been married for almost 10 mos na but all my documents are still under my maiden name.. facebook palang napapalitan ko and office email. hehe

For instances that I need to prove I'm married to my husband (like applying for a visa), I just present our marriage certificate.

I have no plans to renew soon, antayin ko nalang pag for renewal na para isang hirap nalang.

Sa peso bank at driving licensed first name newlast name. Sa prc at passport maiden name ko pa rin. Kapa nagexpire saka ko na Lang I update. Dollar account first name maiden-lastname(kasi na late pagbigay ko ng marriage contract at pinagbigyan lang ako using my driverslicensed id) Sa social site firstname maiden-lastname. Kung Pwede Lang may dash palagi eh hehe kaso Medyo magulo kasi. So plan ko talaga all government ids firstname newlastname

6mos. married palang kami and the only ID i have with my new surname is my postal ID. yun kasi pinakamabilis ipagawa. but even now when signing docs and other papers, i'm still using my father's surname. ewan ko ba, hirap parin akong ilet go yung surname ng dad ko. and i dont feel any rush in having all my IDs changed to my new surname. good thing hindi pa nagiging issue samin to ni hubby. at least for now.
